As you have noticed one solution is to run IE9 in 32-bit mode. You can also try running the 64-bit version of IE9 as administrator to work around this problem.

  • OfficeJet 5740: 57 40 HP won't print Web pages - Internet Explorer and Microsoft edge

I can not get the HP office jet 57402 printing Web pages. I tried with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. Both recognize the printer in their printed menus. There is no printing problem of Microsoft Word or Microsoft Outlook. The printer is brand new. Would be grateful for any advice.

    Hey @Nigel2,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you have problems with your 5740 e-all-in-one printer Officejet printing 10 Windows PC. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. If your printer is connected to your PC via a USB cable, remove it.
    2. Close any programs you have open.
    3. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
    4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    5. Click on remove the instrument.
    6. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    7. If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, click on add printer and follow the prompts to add a print to your printer queue.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print properly, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • Printing from internet using XP, pages are preceded by a page and a half of nonsense characters.

When you try to print a page or pages of the internet, I get 1 1/2 pages of porridge gobble, start by ': $(modèle dowloadButton).  This happens both of my printers, so I guess it has to do with a setting of XP.  This just started happening.  Help!

    PML, this help?

I don't think... the OP said printing works fine for everything except IE.

In researching the problem, I found some information to the effect that IE 9 and 10, there was a switch by using the GPU on the graphics card instead of the CPU to do the rendering, which can affect some printer drivers.  The notice has been updated for the latest printer driver or to disable acceleration.

Unfortunately, the OP still provided no version of Internet Explorer running, so I don't know if it was the cause of the problem.  The problem with LPT3 in Device Manager is a new Curveball (and, of course, we do not know how the printer is connected to the computer, but because it works for other programs, it's probably irrelevant).

Captain Nemo: Yes.  Ask your question in the forum Internet Explorer as I previously suggested:

your question re - in the appropriate forum for your version of Internet Explorer: , go here and select the appropriate version--> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie when you ask your question in the forum, IE, include (1) the version of Internet Explorer you have. (2) the brand and model (s) driver version (s) of your printers; and (3) the (Home, Pro, Media Center) version and service pack (none, 1, 2, 3) of XP you have.

I use Vista Home Premium on a laptop Dell 1545 Inspiron and Dell 968AIO wireless printer. I can't print the attachments of email but I can print several pages on the internet. I updated drivers and tried everything that other people have told me to try on other forums to the best of my abilities. I'm not otherwise qualified in computer science. Also, I will mention this all started when I restored my computer laptop back to factory settings. I did it because that's all I could think about. As far as coming back on my laptop, he did do the trick. Thus, suggestions, thoughts will be appreciated.

  • HP All In One Officejet 4500: HP print jobs all in a single Officejet 4500 disappear. Print test pages. NO ERROR MESSAGE.

Lenovo Thinkpad T61 refurb bought last fall. Today when you attempt to print a page of a web site (Firefox, latest update installed today) the print job has disappeared. I tried e-mail (Thunderbird and web) and files, and in all cases, the print job goes away completely. I did all the steps of printing test pages, and they all work very well. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer, without result.  I tried new drivers or updated without result.

The light of attention seems to be on, but it is very weak and disappears when the printer goes into powersave mode. There is NO error anywhere, nothing appears on the search via the control panel.

At this point, I have a broken printer? A situation of system restore?

A wasted two hours and I'm about to be really annoyed. Ideas appreciated. TQ

How very special. Not your answer, thank you very much for your time. But there were two solutions posted much sooner, within a very short time after I posted the question. Confined together part both of the solution and the rest of the solution were, essentially, download the software version of seven 2014, which supersedes what I had. So, I've marked the post as solved, says thanks a lot and thought no more about it. (Although I am still puzzled as to why it happened in the first place.) Now, my post is reopened, the responses of two originals have disappeared, and yours have been replaced, all this without any explanation. It's just a bit too scary. Fortunately, the problem seems to have been fixed by the software update. So, I'm marking as closed/resolved. Thank you.

    Hello

To see if the error is caused by how IE is made of the page, download and install Firefox on the link below.

    Firefox

When it is installed, see if you still get the same error page with this browser.

  • HP cp1518ni: print a page then error message - paper jam

    Hello

    Hoping someone can help please:

I tried to print a 10 page document and my HP Laserjet Cp1518Ni prints one page at a time, each time with a message "paper jam tray 2, clear Jam then press OK". I have remove the tray and there is sometimes a piece of paper that has begun to pick up and sometimes not at all jammed paper. Once the tray is replaced then initializes it before printing a page more.

Is there something I can do to remedy to this please?

    Thank you, Shaz.

Problem on this model.  The drive tray 2 roller is probably worn out and must be replaced. Just do a search on google for the maintenance manual as instructions are in the manual. Rollers can be purchased online:

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless XP operating system fails to print a page of some web sites

I tried all the steps in the HP Solution but the problem still persists. By trial and error I discovered a simple solution which is just stopping and restarting my PC and then the document mysteriously begins to print what is in the what it's always very aggravating. Just to check, you are always able to print from your computer, but the specific issue that you are experiencing is the impression of some Web sites.

For this kind of problem, this is an issue involving the browser you use. My recommendation is to use a different web browser (if you are using Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for example).

  • OfficeJet J4680 "hangs" when printing web pages.

Hello.  I have persistent problems, printing web pages, and in particular those pages AND attachments to Adobe Acrobat (for example, I can't print an airline of boarding).  I'm running Windows XP (32 bit). I got an error message on the computer screen that MIGHT have something to do with it.  The message reads: "C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash9b.ocx cannot be saved. HRESULT-2147220473.  Please contact the support staff. "I checked and reinstalled the drivers AND tried to re - install printer and 4.1 use diagnostic Print... and they all say there is no problem... but it still happens!

    Help!  This becomes frsutrating.

I found a post on this same issue of September on the Adobe forum.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/message/3915309

A user he said that this solution worked:

"uninstall the Solution Center & reinstall the latest version and all the relevant patches on the HP site. Reset browser settings which, in my case, IE 9 (Internet Options, Advanced tab, reset) followed by a reboot. Then uninstall Flash Player (Control Panel, programs & features, uninstall) followed by a reboot. Finally go to the Adobe website and download the latest version of Flash Player. »

I would like to try the browser reset first, and then I would try uninstall and then reinstall the latest version of the Flash player.
