Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641.
Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641, who has had a lot of answers posted but none does not seem to work and I tried to install this upgrade for the last 6 months! (I did one where you made sure something is running in the Control Panel, but it works just not - I HATE Vista!)
Now just got a new error code: 6 to 8.
The updates, I can't update (!) are:
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4
- Update of security for MSOffice 2007 System
- Update for MS 2007 Office system
- Update for MSOffice Outlook 2007 Junk email filter
Unfortunately I'm not technically proficient at all and do not understand the jargon I've read on this site so if anyone has an answer, please could you write it as if you were talking to your grandma who only discovered what a mouse! ;-)
Thanks in advance

original title: KB2631813 for Windows XP security update has failed repeatedly to install
Update KB2631813 for Windows XP security repeatedly failed to install - error code 0 x 8007003. All other updates install successfully. None of the proposed solutions have worked so far including clear update history.
should [1] I really KB2631813?
[2] my computer seems not to like it.
[3] do you think that KB2631813 is really all this effort?
A1. Yes, as much as you need at every update of safety critical other.
Note that the vulnerability being patched (e.g., MS12-004) requires KB2598479 and KB2631813 to install! IOW, your computer is still vulnerable to the exploit if if KB2631813 is not installed.
A2. Your computer 'loved' KB975562 (which is replaced or replaced by KB2631813), so it should also 'like' KB2631813.
A3. Is the security of your computer and data to this topic (e.g., banking online & credit card passwords) really this effort?

Hello
Method 1:
I suggest you to disable all security software, including the Windows Firewall and then check if it solves the problem.
Check out the link to disable the security software.
Disable the anti-virus software

Enable or disable Windows Firewall

NET 4 security update KB2487367 does move and redirects to Bing
For the last week, I get a security alert - and downloading the update, computer takeas years to get running and alert same notice appears again.
I clicked on the link on the update of security for more information and all I get is Bing.
Is microsoft now forcing me to chose Bing or Linux?
OK, so I'm updating using XP on this machine, but it does what I want with no hover and no bar charm.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
What bothered me really yesterday, was that Microsoft have same misappropriation of their own link on the update alert and sent him an empty page of Bing.
Or you see the effects of ongoing hijackware infection on your computer now of insecurity?
Note: The computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All your personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

Original title: error NET HELPMSG 3521 while checking the Update Service was stopped.
Windows Vista. 32-bit, SP1 and 2
Long story short, I tried to fix my problem of update windows since the beginning of July 2011. My computer does not stop when you install updates automatically or manually. I got a 8024000 error. A shot an email to Ms support and I received an email quickly with some procedures to do. I don't have to make these 4 days later. Here is the part of the email.
This problem may be caused by the following factors:
1. the Windows Update service has stopped.
2 corrupt Windows Update temporary files.
3. bad Internet connection settings.
4 corrupted DLL files.
Step 1: Check the services concerned of the update of Windows
1. click on the button 'Start' in the 'Search' bar type: "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. double-click on the service "Windows Update".
3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "Automatic" or "manual". Then please click the button "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.
4. repeat the above steps with the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS).
I completed this step.
Step 2: Rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution Windows Update
1. close all open windows.
2. click on the "Start" button, click "All programs" and click on "Accessories".
3. right click on "Command prompt" and click "run as Administrator".
4. in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type "net stop WuAuServ" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
Make sure it is said that he has been arrested with success. OK, it worked.
5. click on the button 'Start' in the 'Search' box type "%windir%" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
6. in the opened folder, find the folder named "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".
7. right click on the folder, select Rename, and type "SDold" (without the quotes) to rename this folder.
8. while still in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type the command "net start WuAuServ" (without the quotes) in the window to restart the service Windows updates
It did not work. I received a message...
The syntax of the command is
NET [accounts: computer: config: continue: file: Group: help: helpmsg: localgroup: pause: print: session: share: start: statistics: stop: time: use: user: view]
C:\Windows\System32>_
I tried again from the beginning and now get the following error: NET HELPMSG 3521
"MS supports has not returned my emails to the technology or the Manager.
Can someone help me? Please notify. Suzzz-Q
There are many other measures that followed the foregoing. If anyone is interested in reading all of this...
Step 3: Component of Windows Update registry
============================
1. click on the "Start" button, click "All programs" and click on "Accessories".
2. right click on "Command prompt" and click "run as Administrator". If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Enter the following command and press ENTER.
REGSVR32 WUAUENG. DLL
You will get a window "DllRegisterServer in successful c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll.
4. then please proceed to enter the following commands one by one. A success notification is received after each command.

I could not update vista windows for many months, I currently have 30 updates update download but unable due to the error of the codes 8007370 B and 8007371 C... Help!
I think that my computer was infected :(
Just out of curiosity
1 - What is the installed security/antivirus suite.
2 - and what other security software you run, if any?
3 - is this 'software firewall' the Windows Firewall or a third-party firewall? If the latter, what is the name of this application.
