    Hi Charbel,

Have you done a recent software or hardware changes to the system?

This problem occurs because the Messenger service is disabled. The Messenger service must run on the destination computer to activate the NET SEND command.

Because the service is already started, and you must restart the service, you can try to stop the service, change the startup type to automatic and start the service. Check if it helps.

Please refer to the article to define the service as automatic:

Programs or services that use the alerts service or the Messenger service do not work as expected after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

For more information, see the article:

The NET SEND command may not work correctly on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Microsoft NET Framework Service Pack 1 - Code 80070017

I recently bought a second hand computer laptop for the school that my old broke and I of course checked Microsoft Update and found two important updates and an optional update, so I chose my updates and one of the important and the other optional installed fine, then I retried an improtant installation which was the net and she has not yet so I came here.

0 x 80070017 = this problem may occur if there is a failure of control of cyclic redundancy (CRC) check during the update process. This failure can occur if the received file is not the file that is expected by Windows Update

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.

    Method 1

Run the Chkdsk.exe tool to check the drive for errors

For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd in the programs list, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    2. at the command prompt, type Chkdsk/fand press ENTER.

    3. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    4. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then starts.

    5. once the computer has been restarted, install the updates again.

If method 1 does not resolve this problem, try Method 2.

    Method 2

For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type notepad in the Start Search box, and then click Notepad in the list of programs .

2 copy the following commands, and then paste them into the Notepad file:

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

    Download of ren Download.old

    net start wuauserv

    3. on the file menu, click on record under.

    4. in the file name box, type rename.bat, and then click on all files (*. *) in the Save as type box.

5 save the file rename.bat on the desktop.

    6. right click on the rename.bat file, and then click run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    7. try to install the updates again.

Note When the updates are installed successfully, you can safely remove the rename.bat file.

  • ERROR 105/net: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED - Service is not found

Well, I have bad news and good news.

Your last suggestions do not solve the problem. But, the good news is at the bottom of this page link was an ad for an automatic update of the pilots of the machine. Now, we both heard of such programs, perhaps using them. Me, I used free for aps from CNET. But this showed precisely drivers. That interested me. So I downloaded and purchased. Or them! There are two programs. Good, my thoughts away. An old man is allowed only.

In any case, I had checked on updates for the network drivers before over this issue of no wireless connection. Whenever I tried with no positive results. Meaning no updates were needed. But this time, thank you Lord!, this Paretologic DriverCure worked. It took a few tries determined, but on the second attempt, it seems us have overcome! I didn't have cable Ethernet is plugged in, and when I rebooted the glory it is automatically connected to the Net... Wireless. If that's a Word.

Oddly enough my friend, at this moment in time, I had not deleted the Setup free DNS numbers, is what is used to connect to the Net. So in a sense 'your' work on that works, if you get my drift. It was your entry for the right exit!

Another really curious thing is, in the email this morning I finally received a response of Qwest (ISP) about this same problem. God knows that the number of days that is. For your edification and knowledge I'm copying below what they recommend. I won't use this now, but keep it in reserve for later. But hope that I never have this problem again.

My sincere thanks for all the work you have done. It is sincerely appreciated.

This is the message of Qwest...

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: I suggest you to re - check as you type in the right id and password.

  • SQL and net framework service pak updates

When I get an update for these, and I think that they are cumulative, that I have to keep the previous updates or delete/uninstall to save hard disk space and eliminate clutter

    Hi Pum9,

Updates are additions to software that can prevent or solve problems, enhance the security of the computer, or improve the performance of the computer. Strongly, we recommend that you turn on Windows Update of Windows to install automatic security and other important or recommended updates for your computer as they become available.

If you uninstall the updates, they will be released via windows update. It is not recommended to remove the updates, because updates can enhance the security of your computer.

Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

  • Installing Windows Live Messenger problem (hr:0x8104000d)

    Hello world
Yesterday I installed my Windows 7 Home Premium OS using the costum install because I wanted to whipe clean my Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop. And everything works so far, except that I can't install Windows Live Messenger.

I tried to download the installer from explore.live.com essentials, microsoft.com and by using the Windows Update, but it does not install. I looked and tried to run the Windows Live installer about 6 times. And it's always the same thing. About 98% is to install the Windows Live Call, and when it reaches 100%, it cancels.

I also tried to download the Msn Messenger 7.0 and tries to update the software. For the record, I can't even use the Msn Messenger 7.0 because it says I need to update. And I can't update it because apparently I am not connected to .NET Messenger Service. I tried to test the connection, and it has failed due to an error of invalid character script. After that, I checked the advanced settings and ran tests; My TCP and HTTP Proxy connection works.

I am currently using Kaspersky Internet Security and I even checked to see if the firewall was blocking it, but the installation of Windows Live is considered a trusted software. I even tried to disable my firewall to see if it makes a difference. No luck so far.

    The error that says:
Check that you are connected to the Internet. You cannot download Windows Live programs unless you are connected to the Internet. HR:0x8104000d

I honestly do not understand. I am currently connected through a LAN network with an ethernet cable, but I also tried to unplug and connect to the internet via the WAN.

The only cause of this problem that comes to mind, it is that I had to uninstall the Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility utility before I could uninstall Windows 7. But I have already run all Windows updates. Not that it makes all the difference because I was already connected to the internet.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

UH well Windows Vista OS came with my laptop and I have improved with the installation of costum (new installation) to set up my Windows 7 operating system. If everything has been wiped clean. Obviously for this reason that I don't have windows live messenger installed. If I had simply updated the operating system, all my files are remained intact. My Windows 7 operating system is 64-bit, and yes it is compatible with my computer. As I said above, everything else seems to work.

As for Kaspersky Internet Security, it is supported by Win7 64 bit.
    Reference: http://usa.kaspersky.com/products_services/internet-security.php?icid=50000028

A Norton Internet Security trial came pre-installed with my laptop, but I removed this month there are using a Norton removal tool. Not that it matters now, since I wiped clean my drive hard when I installed Windows 7.

And as for the older versions of Windows Live Messenger, I think I mentioned on my first thread I knew that they did not work. Still, trying to update an older version seemed to be a good idea since I kept not install it. However, which also did not work.

Anyway, thanks for clarifying your first answer. I'll post this same thread on the discussion Forum to see if anyone there can inspire some light in my situation.

Previously, I've solved an error unable to sign into my windows live ID after changing my password, but now my Messenger gives me the problem. I can sign in successfully, but it will cut off by itself without msg of error or code. I tried to reallowing access through my personal firewall and managed, modules checked internet connections, but nothing helped. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it did not work as well. I fixed my network connection and also through messenger trobleshooter but it didn't work as well. My messenger status "You are currently not connected to .NET Messenger Service." What may be initially to do this and how can I solve it? Please help and guide me. Thank you.

    Hello

  • About the Windows Live Messenger connection... I appear offline when the available option... Help!

I'm having a problem with Windows Live Messenger. Can I have my status available but I appear offline to my contacts. Can someone tell me what it is? If I check the status of the connection under tools it says: you are directly connected to .NET Messenger Service. You are connected to the Internet through a NAT symmetrical non-UPnP (Administrator). If I test my connection it says everything is fine.

  • Net Send questions

Good afternoon. Many of the computers on my home network running various incarnations of XP. I live in a large house with rather a large number of people, and whenever I have to reset the modem there is always an annoyed cry of a room or another.

So, I would be able to use net send to distribute warnings in the comfort of my chair. I realize that freewares are available to fill this gap, but I'm at the point now where net send SHOULD really work, and I can't understand why it doesn't. So I would like to solve both for reasons to know what was the problem as anything else.

All computers are running the Messenger service. Each machine has a static local IP address, are all members of the same workgroup, and each of them can see and share files over my network view of the places/workgroup computers. Each of them can see each other via net view.

However, when I try to do , I always get "the message alias is found on the network." My computer can get a message to one of the others by using , but the message remains does not appear on most of our computers. Other machines, including one who receives my computer cannot send messages to themselves by using this command.

Also, try to only works with a computer that receives messages from the entire domain. Other computers do the same error message appear.

Finally, some product "There are no entries in the list," even when it is run immediately after .

At this point, I'm not sure what I'm not doing or what I need to check. I was under the impression that if all computers can share files, and all are run Messenger, sending network should work.

I'd appreciate it really any nuggets of expertise that could clear up. Thanks in advance!

  • How can I keep the active profile so that it will not be closed by the user profile service and crash my application?

I'm a 1530 entry in the event log of user profile for a custom .net application service that is managed by a scheduled task (non-interactive) followed an appcrash for my request entry. The application performs a treatment and if it is impossible to delete some files because of the activity of the user will sleep for a few minutes before trying again. It is usually during this period of sleep that I have noticed this issue. It's on a Windows Server 2008 R2 computer.
