My computer crashes after I installed the Netgear N600 Wireless Dual band Router WNDR3400.   I uninstalled and then reinstalled, but my home computer still crashed.  My detail of error says I may need to update my BIOS to 8400 has 09 but I can't seem to download the desktop to install.  Any suggestion?

    Hi JudyWinn,

If you need assistance for updating BIOS (Basic Input Output System), I recommend you contact the manufacturer of your computer to update the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) & check if the problem persists.

Note: Changing the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Netgear N600-character display

I have a cool new netgear device:

NETGEAR N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2 + Modem Router DGND37v2

which works very well. I came across some problems with a Slackware Linux computer on the network with strange characters in the section "name of the device. An screenshot is here, the device in question is wired device 2 and should be called "ilium".

I would be grateful for any help on this...

    Hi Darren,

Thanks for your reply. Looks like I have found a solution, a fellow slackware user suggested I have try update firmware suggested for the router, and this has solved the problem completely:

  • HP laptop could not connect to the netgear N600 router secure

New laptop HP MAY connect to the Netgear N600 dual band router if NO guarantee is enabled, but it cannot if security is enabled on that either WPA, WPA2, WPA2-PSK regardless.  It can connect too well if wired (of course).

I reloaded the drivers and all the usual remedies but not joy.  Also I tried using a USB WiFi adapter with the same result, unable to connect with security enabled.  All other devices connect very well including 2 Iphones, Tablet android, Apple TV, Apple MacBook pro, printer, etc. then it does seem like a router problem.

Laptop is slightly, around the age of 6 months running Windows 8.  As a temporary workaround I disabled DHCP, security and peripheral isolation enabled 2.4 ghz radio router static address then attributed to the laptop, not a lot of security, but that's all I have.  I moved all devices except a (2.4 ghz only) iphone on the active side of 5 ghz on a different SSID with WPA2.

It seems that the OS has a problem with the hold of encryption in the stack, or maybe it's a hardware problem.  Whatever it is, it works very well with an open WiFi but died completely when any type of security at all turned on, same WEP.  I arrived at the end of my knowledge here and short of a relatively new machine of retirement or try a full reload of the OS (Win 7 X 64 use), I'm stuck.  It is the only system to win 8 I worked (OS nasty if it is).

    Any ideas or suggestions?

I know it's late, but there are probably people searching on the net because of this problem just as if I were stupid. I got a new laptop Windows 8.1 and plugged into my router to set up. Worked without problem. I unplugged the ethernet cable and jumped on the wireless, typed in my network key and hop, connected with no internet access or other useful functions. Long story short, eventually work was by using the automatic connection on the router (the one at the bottom that looks like a radio with 2 waves coming out of it) to connect the first time instead of manually typing the password.

You will need to clear your computer auto-enregistré on the network so that you leave cool to do that. At least, I assume that. My laptop has a dual band wireless card, so I just shot on 5G and serves as my network "expenses. After he successfully connected to that one however, my laptop is now having no problem with the 2.4 G which was faulty in the first place.

Who knows why he can be configured automatically, but don't let you not type the password yourself. In any case, I hope this helps someone!

  • Connect a HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 to router Netgear N600 loss of internet connection.

Whenever the OfficeJet printer is connected to one of the ethernet to a Netgear N600 router ports, the internet connection is lost. Internet works without any complications, if the printer is not connected to the network. As soon as the ethernet cable from the printer is connected to the router (or a network switch) the internet connection is lost. If I look at the devices using the Netgear browser interface, everything seems appropriate. The printer uses DHCP and you will receive various IP addresses according to what remains is connected (e.g. 192.168.1.3). I've narrowed the problem to the printer, causing the loss of connectivity internet thie. Attach only my computer to the router (may be an iMac or a Windows XP system), internet works fine, plug the printer results in a loss of interest. Printer works fine and the documents can be printed after you connect to one of the ethernet ports.

I tried to set a static IP address on the printer (e.g. 192.168.1.100) so that the attribution of a static address with the interface of Netgear using the MAC address of the printer - no approach fixes the problem. Netgear support is perplexed (they have even sent a replacement router, thinking it was defectiive, the two routers show the same problem). I have reset the printer to its default settings in order to eliminate potential conflicts with modified parameters. I also tried to change the speed of the link to something else than "Automatic", nothing seems to work.

We will define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer.  I think that the external DNS will do the trick.

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • OfficeJet 7210 won't install with Netgear N600 router

I tried to install my Officejet 7210.  I connected directly to my Netgear N600 router and I have access to the wireless router.  My son's computer CAN find and use it.  Mine can install the printer but it won't print.

I used each troubleshooting I can find.  The HP diagnostic utilities give me an error message when I try to download them, so they were of no use.

    -I can ping my printer.

-When I try to add a printer manually, it still does not.

-The printer is the default printer, and it is configured to share.

-It is not in offline mode.

-I have installed and reinstalled all the drivers.

I don't know what else to try.  I don't know enough about the network settings to know what to check.

    OS: Windows XP

    Printer: Officejet 7210

    Router: Netgear N600

The printer works correctly with the Windows 7 operating system.

Please help me.  I'm pulling my hair out.

    Hello world

I found a solution to my problem, and I'll tell what I did in case it helps someone else.

I used the standard HP installation discs and I got the printer from the list of printers to my computer.

I have my printer right click and went to Properties.  Then I went to the Ports.  I went to the HP Standard TCP/IP Port and pointed and clicked on Configure.

Then I went to my printer and print the Configuration Page to network to find his IP (parameters --> network --> print the network configuration page).

I went to my browser and put the IP address of the printer (see the list on the Network Setup page).  I got a page with all my settings of the printer listed.

Then I compared what were the parameters of the printer with the settings on the port.

In my case, the name of the printer didn't exactly match anything on my network configuration page.  However, if I entered the IP address on the port, the window don't would not accept it.  If I entered MAC (with or without 'HP' in front), the window would not accept.

This last step is what is different from the advice I've seen in the support of HP, then make a note of this one:

So instead, I changed my printer in the port name to match what was the name on the Web page under the IP address of the printer (home --> info network --> host name).

    Voila!  My printer works.

    I hope it's clear.

    Thank you

  • cannot detect netgear n600 wireless adapter

I have trouble to install a netgear n600 on a windows 7-64 computer's wireless adapter. I already speak to netgear support, via the India, without help. They were able to direct me to the last 1 hour drive in the efforts in the event of a problem. I have test it on a machine running windows vista and installed fine. I tried several ports on my machine, I know that ports operate. What happens is that during installation it asks to insert the adapter... and is unable to detect its existence. Is there something in windows 7 that would cause the adapter to not be detected?

  • Dual WAN router and protocol binding

Hello! I'm trying to find a dual WAN router with support VPN, which allow me to redirect part of the traffic to a specific port WAN and balancing of this specific traffic in the case of this WAN failure (the latter is preferred but is not entirely necessary) load.

RV042/G could help me with this? In this case, allow redirection Protocol only? What port/ip forwarding? Or some sort of filtering of packets to redirect to specific WAN ports?

Maybe I need another router in the conduct of business?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Jose, RV0XX model (g) supports a protocol source LAN link to extended network destination set. It can be a host of high-end LAN or a single host LAN. It may be the customer service or all services. In the case of a failure of network SCOPE, all links in the Protocol are "ignored" and switch to the active WAN until normal operation is restored.

  • No internet connection with new Netgear N600 DGND3700v2

I just bought this new modem/router and set up according to the instructions. All lights are to the Green (or blue 5 GHz), but when I tried to open a browser on PC, I can't get a connection. All my cameras wifi in the House (I have 6, 2ipads, 2phones, a PS3 and a PS4) connected without hassle (although the crazy speeds slow sometimes, which never happened on the old stock of the ISP modem). I tried unplugging all the cords, something making the 30 seconds then restart. I did a factory reset (but I can't believe I even had on a brand new out of the box one). The only thing that doesn't work is not is my connection ethernet on my PC.

I put my old modem on just to check, and it worked immediately. I can't even connect to the internet to connect to routerlogin.net. In the manual, there is an optional facility for fiber internet but our street did not as yet, so I'm always on the domestic substances list, and the DGND3700v2 is supposed to be a modem and router, so I wouldn't need to buy a separate box to connect ethernet to my pc.

In any case, could I please ask for more help, at least let me know if I should go back and try another brand, or it's a defective machine so I could trade and try another brand new machine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Dean

I would contact Netgear support if you just bought this modem to see if it is a defective unit that they can solve the problems with you and determine whether or not there is. In this case it can be replaced by a just RMA to ensure that you have your proof of purchase.

  • lrt224 dual wan router

Hi im new in dual wan configuration. Help, please.
    Here is my problem

1 dynamic globe telecom primary WAN
    WAN static pldt 2 telecom
    Link failover mode

1 router is connect to lrt224 to serve wifi and my switch also plugin for wifi wireless
1 cctv dvr connected to port 9000 webport lrt224 9100 with auto detection parameters parameters

    Now:
Sometimes cctv camera released to public ip address when the wan2 switch but sometimes cannot show also
All around, with 1 wan dynamic as primary

    Hi @engkanto.net,.

I agree with the suggestions. It is best to connect the IP camera to one of the LRT224 router's Ethernet ports. Then you must configure the Port Forwarding or Port Address Translation If you have more than one camera using the same internal port.

    Thank you.

  • Unable to connect to the netgear to my computer wireless router dell laptop.

I use to be able to connect wireless, but now I can't, we have a computer hp laptop, and it always connects ok and shows the other networks is available, I went through all the steps to get out of boredom and the computer tells me to serch for updates the problem can any one help? I use a computer dell laptop with vista bought as a package of pc world

    r Ellis,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

If cela used to work, but the fact now, you can try to do a system restore back before the problem started.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
In the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
In the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    Click Finish.
The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

What happens when you try to connect - the computer see the router but not connect or not he sees the router at all?  Your wireless card still appears upward and it shows the available networks?  Depending on the answers to these questions, it could be a number of different things, so we have to know what that is and can't.  It could be that anything the wireles adapter has stopped working, the need of drivers update, interference, etc..  Let us know if the adapter is working or not and he sees to all networks or not, and we'll go from there.

  • Dual Wan router inaccessible RV042G after the configuration management of bandwidth

    Hello

I bought a router of RV042G a few days ago to manage 2 lines adsl at my home. Everything works fine except for one thing: I can't configure bandwidth management. When I go into the menu "Bandwidth management", "Type of bandwidth management" then I choose the frequency control or priority and I have a had a few rules to prioritize the http protocol, for example, then I click the button Save. After a few seconds of internet use I loss the router and internet connectivity and 192.168.1.1 became inaccessible Ping. I had to unplung the power cord to restart the router, the same problem persists until I have remove all the rules! A few times I even had to do a factory reset because my adsl modem is inaccessible behind the router (impossible to do a ping to the gateway).

What can I do? There is a known issue on this router and firmware? I have:

    Serial number: NKS16220141 Firmware version: v4.2.1.02 (January 18, 2012 14:10:55)
    VID PID: RV042G V01 The firmware MD5 checksum: a9817f2dbdcbd6a5c109eaa21b1c3545
    LAN Working mode: Entry door

    Thanks for your help.

Could Pascal you please make a backup configuration file.

Then I would you at the factory to reset the router then once he comes back to the top, login, make your internet work and try the management of bandwidth again without any other configuration. See if it has the same problem.

If not then this would imply some there is a configuration in conflict with the previous establishment or a software defect that has been corrected through the reset.

  • Cisco Wireless - E2500 N Dual Band router and hide the SSID

    Hello

I tried to hide my SSID by allowing emissions the SSID of the first, and then the other band.

Once I have say-activated the SSID broadcast of the last band my laptop, which has the wireless card, would lose connection to the internet on reboot.

I read somewhere, but now can't find the article, you can hide those SSID, but it requires some work to connect to a network that is more diffuse.

Someone has knowledge on how to go about this, or maybe they could point me to a resource that explains how to set this up... thanks.

The properties of the wireless network. Check "Connect even if this network is not broadcast".

  • can not print

I have problems printing with a Canon MX860 printer, fax, scanner.  I had to replace my router and the wireless connection to the printer is now gone.  How can I designate a port for the printer if the printer and computer can communicate?  I have windows XP Professional and netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Router.

    Hello, Bill,

Have you used the Canon IJ Network Tool?

Canon IJ Network Tool is a utility that allows you to view and change network of machine settings. It is installed when the unit is set up.

    Important:

    • Does not start the Canon IJ Network Tool for printing.
    • Do not print when the Canon IJ Network Tool is running.
    • If your security software firewall is enabled, a message may appear warning that software Canon tries to access the network. If the warning message appears, configure the security software to always allow access.

    Starts Canon IJ Network Tool

    • In Mac OS X

      1. Navigate to the Library\Printers\Canon\BJPrinter\Utilities folder, and then double-click Canon IJ Network Tool.

Note: The path may be different if the recent IJ Network Tool is installed.
In the menu go to the Finder, select Applications, and then double-click the file from Canon Utilities , IJ Network Scanner selector EX folder, then Canon IJ Network Scanner selector EX icon.
    • In Windows:
      1. Double-click on the Canon IJ Network Tool shortcut on the desktop icon.

Click Start , then select all programs (or programs), Canon IJ Network Utilities, Canon IJ Network Tool, then Canon IJ Network Tool.

Try cycling the power on the printer and the router / Access Point to restore communication

    The power of the cycle

If your printer has been previously printing via wireless communication, but can do so no longer, it may be necessary switch the power on the printer and the router / Access Point to re-establish communication. Before doing so, verify that the computer can communicate with the router / Access Point.

On the printer, press on the button to turn the printer off. Wait about 10 seconds, then press it to power the printer on.

On the router / Access Point, if there is a power button, press the button to turn the unit off, then press again to re - feed after waiting about 10 secondes.* If there is no power button, you may need to unplug the power cord / AC adaptor / CC. Check with the manual of the device.

    * Wireless communication to all devices on the wireless network will be lost if you do this.
