NETGEAR wndr3400v2 let more new wireless devices?

I use my router via my comcast cable router (bridged) and it works very well except for some time now, I can not add all the new features for access control? He shows them under authorized devices not connected and I can't have them on the first screen of permit/connected. I usually restrict so a new device mac address must be submitted, but anyway most I can't have a new wireless device? I have only about 7 things on it cuurently... any help would be really appreciated. I just got a new TV and can't connect. First thing I noticed when I tried to let someone take the router for their wifi phone... Sorry if it isn't so clear.

Thanks a lot for your help Elaine... Get what you're saying. Not sure if I'm going to pull the trigger to reset quite yet. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow... hahaha

  • HP 15-d017cl Notebook PC: not found wireless device. No seriously, as * gone * not found.

Earlier today, I was using my computer to access the internet (was simply looking at Facebook, nothing special) and suddenly my computer crashed.  He had a quick error on a thread in the driver or the device or something like that.  When the computer is restarted, option wireless connections would not pop-up, just ethernet.  So after a lot of Troubleshooting Wizard and pressing this button small adapter wireless without success (the red light was on it all the time, which is routinely), I checked the settings, but while the 'airplane mode' section is very well and has the small cursor to activate, and devices 'Wireless' below says "we found on this PC wireless devices."  Well, of course there should be some.  I tried a bunch of things:

-Went to the Device Manager and clicked on network adapters.  RealTek PCIe FE Family Controller is the only element here, I take it is the connection to the local network, as is anything that works.  Under Human Interface devices, he has HID compatible wireless radio controls and driver HP wireless button.  They are both updated and according to the properties, work correctly.

-Use Windows Update to check for updates, install and reboot.  Nothing new.

-Use system restore to go back a few days.  Nothing new.

Next option I could think would be to restore the driver of HP wireless button (HID-compliant doesn't have the option), and if it does not, an another system restore or reset.  I hope not to have to do, because it's going to take a lot of work and a shopping spree, I have all the pictures of my two years since he was born as well as a whole bunch of programs, not what I think I have the program CD for more (my husband had some items stolen awhile back).  I'd love for more suggestions, I've been working on it for several hours and my brain hurts.

    Hello

Try to update the Bios and the last pilot wireless from the HP website.

Where you're comfortable, reinstall the wireless card once to the back side of the device. If these two options do not work, I would say to replace the wireless card as it is may be defective.

  • Windows XP don't reconise new wireless printer

My cousin has an old computer that is running Windows XP.  She bought a new wireless printer that works with his cellphone and the Tablet, but the computer does not recognize the printer.  How this can be solved?

No answer is possible if you do not identify the printer brand and model.  Here is the general answer.

Because an operating system - like Windows XP - cannot know the details of how all the hardware devices to work, manufacturers produce a small program that acts as an interface between the hardware and the operating system.  These programs are called pilots.

As operating systems evolve - Windows XP to Vista to Windows 7, etc. - OEMs must often change their pilots or to provide new drivers to work with the new operating systems.

At some point, the hardware manufacturer will decide it is more trouble should be the pilot for a new device compatible with an earlier operating system.  Considering that Windows XP was released in August 2001 - nearly 15 years - and that Microsoft has ceased all support for Windows XP in April 2014 - two years - would not be surprising if a new printer did not have a driver for Windows XP.

  • Network discovery, file sharing settings keep changing by itself and Alltel to set the network location continues to ask the wireless device

former title: network location settings. Discovery of NW. File sharing. public folder sharing. AVG 9.0 'tools' and network connections.

My Alltel Wireless device again set the network location. And continues to change my network settings for the discovery of NW to:, as well as file sharing for: file public and sharing: read-only.  I have AVG Security 9.0 and under 'tools' and connections network shows several svchost with States reading service connections listening and unknown. I don't want no access to my computer and cannot find any computer consultants who can get this to stop. What can I do?

    Hello

    1. the options apply automatically on?
    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?
    3. have you installed any Alltel Wireless application to manage network connections?
    4. What is the current network location type on? Is it home, work or public?
Network discovery and file sharing settings depend on the network location. For examle, if you set the network as a public location it turn on file sharing.  So I would ask you to turn all the parameters and then choose the type of network and check if the parameters change again.

    Method 1.
I recommend you to check if the problem exists in clean boot. May be a third party application is causing these changes.

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 2.
Also check the settings under tools in AVG security suite. You may need to check with the help of AVG on it.
Or you can disable the antivirus software and check if that causes this behavior.
Temporarily disable the security software installed on the computer and check if the problem persists.
    Disable the anti-virus software
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Computer Vista laptop cannot connect to new wireless router

I had the laptop for about a year and a half, and he has a history of being pretty skittish about the wireless connection.  Often he simply refuses to do so.  During vacation last year, for example, the other three laptops connected family easily to wi - fi hotel, but mine has refused to.  There are a lot of other moments when the laptop could not connect, but I was able to connect to two most important places - home and work - without much trouble, and so I haven't looked too hard to solve the problems of connection up to now.

This week, I replaced the router in my original configuration.  The old Netgear router kept giving up the connection between her and my ISP.  The new Linksys router looks rock solid in this regard.  I have a desktop running XP computer that is wired to the new router Linksys, and he sees the internet very well.  My laptop Vista unable to connect (wireless), however.  He sees the network with a lot of intensity of the signal, and it tries to connect.  I get a message saying that the connection takes longer than usual, and then another message saying 'connected.'  However, I do not have internet access, and I see other devices (just the XP desktop, really) on the network.  The Network and Sharing Center shows my laptop connected to the 'unidentified network', and then there is a red X between this network and the Internet (represented by a grey globe).  Laptop computer signals its 'access' as "local only".

From the desktop, I can access the internet, so the router is connected to the points upstream.  From the desktop, I can also access the router configuration pages, and I see that it does not list the laptop as a dhcp client, even if the laptop thinks that it is connected.

ipconfig on laptop computer displays a wacky IPv4 address: 169.254.2.91 and I guess that the laptop does not get an address passed to the router.  I think that there should be a 192.168. *. * address if it worked properly.

Now, I was pretty sure my laptop's wireless adapter to work properly.  It always connects to the old router and it always connects to the work.  But to be sure and really test the new router, I went out and bought another USB adapter wireless.  When I plug it into the computer to Office XP, the Office connects to the router and can see the internet (even with the connection cable is disconnected).  So the new router and the new wireless USB adapater properly.  When I plug the USB wireless adapter into the laptop, the laptop still can't connect and still not get a good ip address assigned by the router.

I've been at this for a few days now, and I could really use some help.  I read a few items in the Microsoft forums that was supposed to fix the problem.  One of them told me to try to start a program called DHCP in the Administrative Tools folder.  I do not have this program on my computer.  Another told me manually change my registry (ouch!) and add a new DWORD value, and set its value to 1.  I did, but it did not fix the problem.

I would be very grateful for any help.

    Jim

Alright.  I am home to work and back again.  I have read several posts with people reporting problems similar to mine, so I guess I'm not alone in this.  In a thread, the experts proposed to start in Mode safe mode with networking.  So I gave that a shot.  I still couldn't really connect - just this 'local only' without an assigned IP address.

One thing I did notice, is that my laptop brand and its wireless adapter seem to get a special mention in most positions.  I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ50 Notebook PC running Vista Home Premium SP2, 32-bit version (even if the processor is 64-bit).  The wireless adapter is an Atheros AR5007.  Several other people with this card have reported problems.  Maybe it's the cause?

I look into updating the driver for the card, even if yesterday's test with the separate USB wireless adapter showed that the problem could not just be limited to the Atheros card.  To search for a driver update, I connect my laptop to the router with an ethernet cable.  It's nice to see the web on your laptop.  No update driver does.

For fun, I try to establish a wireless connection with the router, while the wired connection is still in place.  Looks like maybe it worked?  I say a little prayer and unplug the ethernet cable...

It's a miracle!  I have a wireless connection to the router and beyond, to the internet.  Huzzah!

The network has a real name, too, instead of just 'unidentified network '.  I want to change the network type from the public to the private, which I was unable to do while he was still 'unidentified '.

Can I terminate the connection so that I can see what happens when I try to reconnect.

Another miracle!  It connects to and still see the internet.  Callooh!  Colay!

Next test: see what happens after a reboot... (please, please, please)...

    Ch-ching!  It works again!

Final (?) test: reinstall the McAffee internet security suite and restart.

    And it still works.

    Here's a recap of what I found:
    1. laptop could not connect wireless router again, despite dozens of attempts in which I get every available straw
    2. laptop computer could see the internet when connected to the router
    3. laptop could connect wirelessly to the router while the wired connection is in place
    4. Once this first wireless, laptop computer was able to connect to the router even when the wired connection has been removed and the computer restarts

I would describe my discovery above as a work-around rather than as a solution, however.  It does not always help me stay connected the next time I'm on vacation, for example.  But perhaps the information I provided can help experts to diagnose the real problem a little.

I look forward to hear something back.

    Jim

  • New wireless network does not appear on any computer

Thanks in advance for any help. OK, so I have a HP office connected to the internet through a router WRT54GS.  I had 2 laptops connected to the NICU my wireless router. A (HP) laptop has built in wireless modem/adapter.  The other laptop Dell was NICU equipped with a wireless adapter card.  The problem is that the adapter on the basically dead Dell laptop, I don't give no internet connection.  So I tried to install a more recent network card wireless linksys with speed on the cell phone booster.  The instructions asked me to press the orange button on my router Cisco access point.  I knew thatd be a problem.  While the laptop connected to the internet, my old wireless network seems to be deleted.  Installin the new card on the Dell laptop has created a connection b/t it and the router. The other laptop (HP) is now offline and not even a slate of the new network.  So I tried to create a new wireless network on the main desktop computer.   Now this new network is not detected by the wireless or portable printer.  Other networks is detected if.  Or the original linksys network is detected, Im not sure.

OK sorry for any confusion, but my basic problem is that my new wireless network is not detected on the laptop or the printer. I tried unpluggin the router. I also tried to manually in the network settings.  I also tried to disable the firewall on my main computer. Nuthing worked. I checked the Device Manager, everything seems fine.

My router is just old? Its at least 4 years

I don't know what to do. Thanks again for your suggestions.

NVM, I got the impression to work. just installed it on the laptop wireless.  I still can't get the 2nd adapter linksys to laptops to work. I'll ask for help in this section of the adapter.

  • How to activate ReadySHARE using NETGEAR WNDR3400v2

    Original title: readyshare problem

I hava a netgear WNDR3400v2 I have not been able to activate the readyshare in my laptop. I tried in a few different ways it can't solve my problem can you please give me the solution

    Hello

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

What happens when you enable ReadySHARE? Do you get any error messages?

Perform the steps mentioned below and then check if it solves the problem. You can also disable antivirus program.

Step 1: Turn off the antivirus program

    Temporarily disable the antivirus program

    Caution:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

Follow this PDF document on how to join the cloud ReadySHARE.

    http://www.NETGEAR.com/assets/landing/ReadyShare/ReadySHARE_Cloud_Flyer_12JULY2011.PDF

    a. click the Start button

    b. type \\readyshare.routerlogin.com , in the search box and press on enter.

    c. This should open a window with an inner folder similar to the USB storage device.

I could not find WNDR3400v2 in the list of supported models ReadySHARE provided in this article. However, you can follow the procedure described here to see if that helps.

    http://www.NETGEAR.com/landing/en-us/ReadyShare.aspx

If the problem persists, I recommend you contact the NETGEAR Support for more information.

  • Could not connect more than 4 devices to time capsule

Hello. I have the latest generation 3 TB Time Capsule. Since last week I can´t connect more than 4 devices to transport CANADA. Before that, I had 2 iPhones, iPad 1 air connection 2, an iMac, a macbook, the appleTV to generation 4 and a PS4. I tried a soft reset, a hard reset, a reset to factory settings, nothing works. Now I can´t connect the macbook and the PS4 more, even if all other devices are off. My iPhone 6s more is the only device that I can connect every time. I installed the last firmare update, but nothing has changed. I don.t know what else to do. Thanks in advance, Fabian

When the Capsule is configured to act as a router, it will provide up to 50 connections for wireless devices and 150 for the wired devices. So, the first step in troubleshooting that I would say is to ensure that the time Capsule is set to act as the router for your network devices.

To do this, use the following steps:

    • Open AirPort Utility on your main Mac computer (Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility)
    • Click on the image of the time Capsule
    • Click on edit in the window that appears
    • Click on the network at the top of the next window tab
    • Check the setting of the router mode know if it is configured as DHCP and NAT... or... If it is off (Bridge Mode).

Please report it on the setting for the router Mode you see

    doc78 wrote: Kindle Touch

Hello doc78, I checked out the Kindle Touch and the show of specifications:

    Wi - Built-in Fi:
Connect to Wi - Fi hotspots at home or on the go. Includes free access to Wi - Fi hotspots AT & T through the United States.

The specifications did not show the version of the wireless device. It could be the published versions to date, version A, B, G or N.

As you have found a new wireless router, I suggest to get the N version, since it is the most recent and sends and receives a greater distance and speed than the versions A, B and G.

The Kindle Touch maybe not the wireless version N device, but would still be retro-compatible with the version N router, but only at speeds of wireless Kindle Touch device.

Router purchase N version assure you that you have later, right now, for future updates wireless.

    Hello

    Please try this:
Go to BIOS (press F2 during boot) and set the BIOS by default (F9), and then save the changes (F10) and restart.
Then download the driver Portal Toshiba WLan Wlan:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Install the Wlan driver and check if the wireless network card is recognized correctly in the Device Manager.
Usually the Wlan could be marketed by using the FN + F8 keys.
The FN keys would work if install you the VAP and Flash memory card Support utility. Note. The VAP should be installed first.
I use the two tools distributed satellite L550D series two is working on my old A210 and I can enable and disable Wlan correctly.

  • Set up the wireless access point, but the wireless devices are unable to get ip address

Hi, I wanted to put my D7000 as router AP. My main router is Sagemcom F@st 3864 by Optus ISP (Australia).

First of all, I put the D7000 in Bridge mode I did these steps:

    1. replace the IP LAN 192.168.0.100

    2 disable DHCP

    3. connect the LAN port to the main router Lan port

Internet connection wired and wireless on the same device but other wireless devices has failed

To remedy this, I made another choice, allowing point-to-point wireless access in the advanced settings of the D7000. I followed the instructions from this link

    http://KB.NETGEAR.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/24104/~/how-do-i-change-my-Nighthawk-router-to-AP-mode...

I put dynamiccaly = wireless internet cable success but peripheral does not have an ip address

No idea how to fix wireless? I'm not very experienced

    Thank you!

I just fixed it just now. For AP mode, connect the LAN port of the main router to the WAN port on the D7000 (not LAN to LAN). I wish I thought to it much sooner.

The problem is probably that the Linksys E1200 is a wireless-N Router and your former Office no doubt has a wireless adapter that is only capable of wireless-G (or perhaps Wireless G and B).

Are adapters wireless in your other computers wireless - n?  If so, it perhaps is the reason why they could not connect to your old G of Netgear wireless router.

You can get a new wireless-N for the office adapter or configure the E1200 wireless g available.
