NetInstall vs Profile Manager
Hello
For years, I am using NetInstall unroll my Mac to my 50ish users. As typical, I created a machine exactly as I want. When I buy a new machine (or decide to reimage an old), I start to restore image, change the name of the account, copy the files, change some applications and settings and done.
I keep reading (and the Apple business team have alluded to) the fact that the Profile Manager is supposed to do something similar, but I am at a loss why I would use rather than what I do. It seems more oriented toward mobile devices and also seems rather complicated to install and manage. Maybe it's me, but it seems to make more sense to implement a customer while I am interested in it if the dock and different options are exactly what I want.
Then, someone actually uses the profile for computers Manager? And what are the benefits on the fair site from scratch and copying users files to a computer newly set up, the way I did?
Thank you
The f
Profile Manager allows you to set parameters for individual users, for individual computers, user groups, groups of machines, groups of. If you want to change a parameter that takes a few seconds and change is pushed towards the target automagically. You will want to get a copy of Apple Remote Desktop, you can use to install the packages and files.
In comparison, "Re-imaging from scratch" is slow and inflexible.

Firefox does not start, the Profile Manager is not available
Firefox worked, then update it does not start. I tried all the fixes; However, the Profile Manager is not accessible or even present in the execution file. I unintalled and reinstalled several times, but I still can't get it to work. There is no Windows or Norton firewall block so I do not understand. What can I do? I want to use Firefox because it's the best browser; but now I'm forced to use Oscar. It's not terrible, but I prefer the features I've had with Firefox
I had upgraded to the latest version; but the thought of demotion to the version which worked perfectly. In the end, I had to defrag, do a registry clean and optimization of performance of PC, but for the upgrade launched. So, I'm happy to say that I reply to this post with my Firefox browser. Thank you very much for your help. If all goes well, I won't have problems.

I can not get to start Profile Manager.
I go to ~/.thunderbird and run
./thunderbird -ProfileManager
Instead of giving me a Profile Manager window it gives me just an instance of the envelope to thunderbird.
I have a problem with the email thunderbird at the moment and it was suggested to me that I change my
Profile (using the command above).I'm running (the very older) Fedora 17.
In fact I realized the problem: the instructions that I was told to go in the profile directory
~/.thunderbird/********.default
and run. / thunderbird - ProfileManager.
But there was no thunderbird executable in this directory! So I went to a directory in which there * was * a thunderbird executable and issued the command. With the unsatisfactory results tht I described.
I *finally* found that if I went to /.thunderbird/********.default and issued the command "thunderbird -ProfileManager" (*not* preceded by "./" --- so that I got the "system" thunderbird command) then the result was as desired.
So my problem is solved. But he had nothing to do with letting thunderbird running.

When the Profile Manager stores data profiles created?
I have several profiles of Firefox that I created with the Profile Manager, but I find no where the Profile Manager stores data for profiles created because even if I delete all the firefox location of C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Mozilla user data files and all the data in the registry though Firefox I start the Profile Manager still lists all created profiles.
Then, where the data for profiles created is stored?
Hello, these data are stored in subfolders of \Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming- profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data

Profile Manager fot portable applications
I need to import my backup in my portable thunderbird and I read in the documentation that I have use the "Profile Manager" or edit the "profiles.ini". I can't find them both.
This line: ["L:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\ThunderbirdPortable.exe" - p] just open the usual program
How may I access the profile with the mobile application manager?
Thank you
OK I have neen searching around on portableapps.com for Thunderbird.
You see you do not actually use Mozilla Thunderbird desktop, you use a product that has been modified by a third party and really should ask in this forum of products.

The Profile Manager is not portable. It is just not supported by Thunderbird Portable because it will break things.http://PortableApps.com/node/11191

Hello
I can't get my firefox shortcuts to go directly on the Profile Manager. I don't know why. I know I have the target correctly configured in the properties, but he still won't be going to the nursery to profile. Help, please.
Here is what is the location of the target in the properties:
"C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla"-profilemanger
I have not had a problem yet. Did that for about two years. This most recent update erased the "profilemanager" - no-remote-p. I added it waala and back in! Out of service again.
But duly noted. Thanks for the tips.

Firefox does not open and not get Profile Manager.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional. So about two weeks ago, I had suddenly couldn't open Firefox and since then have tried to solve it myself does not. the process of Firefox opens in the Task Manager, however, the browser window does not appear. Trying to open Firefox again, another process opens and the same thing happens. Process just keep opening and that's it. I tried the Profile Manager, but it opens only once and I couldn't so he can reopen. Every once in a while Firefox actually opens when I run it, but when I close it to see if it works once again it does not work. Firefox opens in safe mode with network consecutively without any problem. While he was in safe mode, I ran a full scan of the system with Nortan Antivirus and allowed thirty or threats, but after restart of Firefox will not always open, treated only. I tried to remove the x 86 erased my local path and Mozilla appdata roaming Mozilla, then re installed with 34.0.5. I tried to open Firefox in safe mode, but it will not open at all, only the process again.
It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Lack the profile can not access the Profile Manager, cannot be continued
Yahoo somehow accessed and changed the settings of my browsers safari and firefox, could not change the settings for search engine default for more than a minute, even remove engine from yahoo wouldn't last a minute, so I deleted firefox, re-uploaded, now my profile is missing...
I can not access the Profile Manager via the Terminal, I can't do anything, Firefox is not operational at this time and I don't know how to fix it.
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later versions, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.

How can I run the Windows 8.1 Profile Manager
I have three laptop computers, both running windows 7 and one running windows 8.1 I just put up a few proifles on a Windows 7 machine and also started using Sync.
I went to Windows 8.1 machine to test my work. Sync works fine, I now all my old favorites on the new machine.
Then, I wanted to test if synchronization was copied on the profiles. I closed Firefox and typed firefox.exe Pei in the immediate window. That grew Firefox itself, not the Profile Manager. I consulted the help file and tried to enter complete progam
"C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla" PEIThat sound again to the top of Firefox profile manager.
Why would this command not work? Is there another way to show the Profile Manager?
My Firefox on both machines is a version installed 33 (as I type I had a popup offering me the 33.0.1 version)
I tried to automatically add troubleshooting information, but got an error message saying that there was a failure on the site mozilla.support. I followed the steps to manually add it.
Hello
You must ensure that either Firefox is closed when you run Profile Manager, or also include you '- no - remote' as well in the command line. Please fill out the following for more information:

How can I change the order of the profiles in the Profile Manager?

I can not open the [Profile Manager] in FireFox
Hello...
I have Firefox 31.0, the last of them
I can't open [Profile Manager]
When I do these paths
"firefox - ProfileManager".
Firefox.exe Pei
' C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla '-no-remote Pei '
Now the problem when I write one of the paths, he opens Firefox [browser]
I need to open the Profile Manager and make new user and use them both at the same timeThank you...
Otherwise, a new browser window opens just instead.
So if entered correctly the - no - remote control switch with Pei should open the ProfileManager in order to run a second instance with a different profile. Basically, you can run multiple instances on the same profile.
