PC users past in mode 'sleep' and they won't be able to connect, or if they can open a session they will not have access to network drives. Restart or NIC deactivation and reactivation of will solve the problem. Also note that he seems to have started after the installation of update for Windows Defender (definition 1.211.1747) definition.

I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit SP2.  I put the computer in standby mode and the next day morning tapped the keyboard space bar to wake him up.  I have a Logitech G15 game keyboard with an LCD display, it began to rise, then I noticed all the keyboard lights were flickering.  The system never started and the screen remains black.  I took the cover off my PC and noticed that fans have been "forced" for about 1 second then remains off for a period of about 5-7 seconds before the pulse on once again.  This is repeated.  I pressed on the power switch for the computer for 20 seconds, without result.  I disabled the power supply directly for about 20 seconds, he turned back and have the same pulse.  Then I unplugged the power cord to supply POWER, same year, same net effect.  I've checked all my connections, etc., everything is in order.  I got an iPod touch connected to the computer via the USB port before sleep.  But I perfrmed this function several times one never had a problem.  I of course got the thing first USB when I started my problem.  I guess it's one thing to the BONE, but what's my line?  Thanks much for any help!

A little late on the answer, but he had nothing to do with food. I was able to solve the problem by turning off the computer, unplug and burst the battery from the motherboard, let it rest a bit, then put it back together and bam, I'm back in business. I think it's a problem between the motherboard BIOS and Hibernate commands put off by * Vista and the only way to stop the loop is the above afformentioned. Everyone always wants to blame the food for these issues... Now PS can cause really strange but common problems...

  • Windows Vista does not start - only Safe Mode

    Hello

  • Windows xp does not start in safe mode how to

Computer says windows did not start successfully and does not start in safe mode, will not restart, do not go back to the last known good configuration

When you choose to start safe mode, which is the last thing you see on the screen?

When you arrive at the menu of Boot Options Advanced F8, you need to choose in this menu, the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start tapping the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restart on system failure, and then select.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

If your system has a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), we need to know what the screen says:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:

    http://TechRepublic.com.com/i/tr/downloads/images/bsod_a.jpg

Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).

Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.

If it looks like there is some kind of name listed in the STOP message file, send this line also.

Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

You won't get past step 1 of KB307654 or install the Recovery Console or do a repair install without a real XP bootable installation CD that matches your currently installed Service Pack (very unlikely).

You have a real installation CD bootable XP that corresponds to your currently installed Service Pack?

  • Windows XP does not start after the installation of 3 GB of RAM. Will start with only 2 GB or less.

I installed the new RAM on my desktop Compaq EVO D500.  Everything was working fine until 2 GB.  When I tried to install no matter what the computer does not start.  Specifications of the computer say maximum RAM is 3 GB.  All the memory and are good because I swapped taken in all the combinations possible and memory.  Any ideas. gknapp_ny

If their were any memory related settings that had to be changed I would have no idea how do.  I had initially 512 MB of RAM (256-2 sticks).  I added a stick of 1 GB aditional third availabel taking and all went well.  Then I had two more identical 1 GB sticks and added them one at a time.  With 2 GB without problem.  But with the third stick of 1 GB that I couldn't start - I just beeps. I swapped one of the sticks of 1 GB for an old 256 MB and still no start just beeps.  When I run 2 GB everything is fine.  The BIOS recognizes the 2 GB of RAM. gknapp_ny

Sounds as if your BIOS will not identify no matter what says the spec, 3 GB.

It seems as if you may need a BIOS update in order to recognize the 3 GB of RAM - especially if it is a very old Compaq Evo D500.  See the "Improvements" tab to the page linked below.

    See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96295&swItem=PSG_I15378-37635&prodNameId=97121&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3

Note that the patch on the link above is for models Evo D500 "with a ROM family 686Y2."  Read the "Release Notes" on this page to determine if your machine is one of those and if so, see "Instructions of Installation" to install the upgrade.  If your D500 is a laptop, you should Flash the ROM ONLY (i.e., update the BIOS level) when the computer is plugged - loss of power during this process can potentially cause irreparable harm to the computer.

  • Windows 7 does not start after update

My problem started with an automatic update in the last 48 hours. Worked well previously. After installing the update? I'm more able to start. BIOS works great and then Windows 7 hangs at the homepage. I tried to restore it on several points and now he is responsible for the paper painted and hangs there.

Under Update installed, the newest I see one is June 11. I don't see the dates for updates of office 2007 etc..

It starts in safe mode with network fine. I used the windows disk to start troubleshooting and restoration. Any ideas on the next steps? Not a problem before the updates. I'll turn off the automatic updates but you need to know how to precede to recover my computer

    Hi PMMDOC,

I assume that your system works very well after running system restore from the system recovery options .

After the system restore, you can install the updates manually one by one to check the update is causing the problem to occur.

If the problem persists, you can do the Startup Repair by using the Windows 7 installation disc. It will automatically fix problems that prevent Windows to start.

If you want as follows to disable automatic updates , you can follow the steps from the link below. (not recommended)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-automatic-updating-on-or-off
Alternatively, you can install all updates in a clean boot State.

  • Windows XP does not start after the installation of an SSD.

Windows XP SP3 and Intel Smart Response Technology

Recently, I built a new computer and installed Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro in a dual-boot arrangement.  Everything worked very well.  I then installed an SSD in the hopes of using the Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) to speed things up.

I shut down the computer, installed the SSD, brought up in Win7 and follow the easy guests in SRT to activate the player.  Restarted several times and things SSD speed up significantly.  Wonderful.
I so restart and select Windows XP so I can SRT it.  After you select Windows XP in the boot menu, a few seconds and I get a quick flash of a BSOD and the computer restarts spontaneously.  I can't enter in WinXP, not even without failure or last known good config Mode.
I again in Win7 and disable the SRT, reboot and I can enter Windows XP very well.  So obviously WinXP has a problem with the SRT is activated outside the XP.  That being said, I can't activate SRT in WinXP first either.  "Accelerate" option does not appear in the menu.
    Any ideas on that?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

In these cases, we always recommend to update the system BIOS of motherboard, update the firmware of the controller RAID and disks installed. If the problem persists, you will need to fix the compatibility problem directly with the manufacturer of the motherboard and add it to the RAID controller itself.

I suggest you to contact Intel support site to improve assistance on the issue.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Pavilion HDX 16: Windows 7 does not start after the upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello

I have a system to dual-boot with windows 7 and ubuntu (with Windows 7 and NeoGrub Bootloader Windows Boot Manager).

Recently, I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 via free upgrade offered by SM. However, I didn't like windows 10 and tried to upgrade to windows 7 by the following settings-> update of the security & -> Recovery-> Go Back to Windows 7.

After the long process of decommissioning, cannot start windows 7 and the "Startup Repair" tool began to run. However, he could not solve the problem. Other recovery options 'system restore' and 'image system recovery' is not such that it could not find any restore point or the image created previously (I'm sure it were created before upgrade restore points).

So, although I can boot ubuntu without any problem, I can't start windows 7. After the "starting windows" screen, I get the blue screen (a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down...).

I intend to use the DVD to install windows 7 for repair, but

    (1) I don't know if I can boot from the CD because it is a dual-boot configuration

    (2) I'm afraid of losing work ubuntu OS.

I appreciate if someone can help me find my Windows 7. I thank very you much for your time.

Sorry, but there are a lot of reports on forums of Win10 the option of GoBack does not always work correctly.

You should be able to boot properly from the same DVD of Win7 if you dual-boot with Ubuntu, but be aware, if the startup repair works (you may need to run three times), it will replace the link to start Linux in the MBR and after that, the machine starts immediately to Win7.  You will need to reinstall GRUB to get Ubuntu boot back.  You may be able to fix the boot of Ubuntu using repair boot: Boot-Repair - Community Ubuntu Documentation

  • Windows 7 does not start after the installation of updates - sounds familiar!

Apparently, I have another system that no longer starts after you install an update to Windows 7. New kick computer _ I have to disable the automatic update of windows. Twice I had to restore the system in the first week because he hung up after the installation of updates for windows 7. I have no idea what update is the cause of the problem.

Essentially, start the screen goes black with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner of the screen. The only way out is to restore the system.

Does anyone know what update is the culpret? HP support has no idea. Their only solution was to update windows 7 to 'never download an update from windows '. It is a terrible thing to be underestimated solution.

    Here's the resolution...

I installed all the updates except KB2284742 954430, 973688 and 971033. So I decided to install these 1 4 at a time in the order shown. I installed successfully 228472 and 954430 and 973688 disappeared from the list of available updates. So I installed 971033 and it installed successfully and I was still able to restart.

My conclusion is that there is a conflict between the first 3 updates when they are installed at the same time.

Now my system is up to date with all windows updates and I'm able to restart without any problems!

  • My Windows XP does not start, including safe mode

Hi, I have a computer dell laptop with windows XP Home Edition. Is not start even in safe mode. In safe mode, it crashes after loading file isapnp.sys driver display. In other modes, it displays a white screen. I tried to replace the file sys of the installation CD but no use. I have run the command chkdsk from the recovery console, but no use. I tried to repair the xp using the installation CD. He did copy the game files and restarted after copying. But no use and crashes at the same files isapnp.sys. No error is displayed. Please help me.

ISAPNP.sys is normally the last pilot of the group "reserved to the system", then xp loads 'boot bus extender' group. Some viruses may have injected a pilot belonging to this group: If your antivirus caught it or something strange has happened, your xp should hang at this moment.

You have to work offline (with a live cd such as ubcd4win or mounting your hard drive on a pc, not as one bootable of course), check if there is something strange in windows\system32\drivers, for example a .sys 0 KB long file with an unusual name, then find his name in the registry (it might have a weird registry entry too)

Take care to do a backup (export to a reg file) before you delete these entries. In addition, this type of virus usually load something else, at least as autorun (e.g. under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run), so you have to check the registry for other suspicious entries in known locations (and/or do a scan with antivirus update offline)

These are some advanced "s maneuver", so if you do not feel comfortable and do not understand the question better if you request technical support.

    Good luck

  • Windows XP does not start after Windows updates

Original title: recent Windows update for xp

As a result a my computer Windows xp, last Tuesday, my computer is now inoperative.  He was fine before this, but cannot get it to turn on.

When I tried again today, a message came up saying Microsoft to apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully.  A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.
    What should I do now?

    Grandmother,

If the options above do not, I suggest you use the Recovery Console to try to fix your Windows XP

Here's HOW - there images, so it is easier to follow. Read the section on how to use it.

Once you are connected to the Recovery Console, type the following command and press ENTER:

    CHKDSK/p

    There is a space between 'k' and ' / '.

This may take a few minutes and the command can fix registry issues possible that occurred. This is based on the experience that I have used this on an old XP machine and it showed a message after the recovery that looks like this

    See you soon ~!

Hi, a few days ago, I restored the system to my computer because it showed no hard disks that have been added to the computer. I had no problem before, so I restored the system to the same day. Hello

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

Remove all external devices such as printers, USB and then try to start.

    Step 2:

I suggest that you perform the installation of repair XP on your computer and check if that helps.
