Network card works no-Windows home server on VMWare server 2.0.1

I installed Windows Home Server on VMWare server 2.0.1 and the card in Device Manager Ethernet OS says "this device cannot start (code 10)". Device Manager shows AMD PCNET Family PCI Ethernet Adapter and the current drivers are also installed. I installed the Home Server by selecting other 32 bit OS in the virtual machine. Also, I removed the network card and reinstalled the adapter in the control panel of VMWare. It shows connected and I fixed it to connect at power on, it is also a bridge connection. I don't know what to do or check. I thought to reinstall the operating system by choosing server 2003 32-bit for Windows Home server is based on this. It's probably something simple. Anyone have any ideas?

Close the comments.  Edit the vmx by hand file and change the line ethernet0.virtualDev = "vlance" to "e1000" (add the line if it does not exist).  Back-light the prompt and install the driver for Intel E1000 network map.

  • Network with Windows Home Server hard drive. With the new files that wouldn't be no automatic update.

Installed Windows Home Server 2011 on my files allocatted to share on my wireless network, including a hard drive 2 TB external. Worked well able to watch movies, listen to music etc... As several files have been saved on the external hard drive (800G now) he would not recognize the new content (files or movies) previous content is ok, but nothing new would not reconise. Unplug the hard drive from the PC, pluged into the TV via USB and all the files are there, old and new. My PC is 3.2 GHz 1 G RAM and running Windows XP I was wondering if anyone know what would cause this? It would not be because I only have 1 g of ram?

Tried to install OEM Windows Home Server 2011 integrated custom server with ASUS M489GTD Pro Mobo and AMD Phenom IIx6 1055 t processor. Installation (3 attempts) would not end when network devices do not have to be found. Having read a number of user group locations and found amount of siginficant discussion on similar type problems. Searched and copied device USB and NIC brand drivers but the installation of WHS 2011 has been unsuccessful. Have since with success installed Windows 8 Preview of consumer on the server by using 'Device Manager' to find installed drivers located in appropriate files and C: / drive. • Windows Home Server 2011 complete system restore problem = cannot start the LAN adapter

Network adapter Atheros AR8151 PCI-E on the map connected to the LAN Cat6

    Windows Pro 10

Windows Home Server 2011 on LAN

I had a hard drive failure partial who gave no symptoms or errors except a VERY slow start-up and operation.  I tried to do a restore of the entire system of my Home Server 2011 backups to see if, perhaps, just the image was corrupt.  USB was created and all drivers copied from pilots for the full system restore folder.  Has started the full restoration of the system and loaded the missing NETWORK adapter driver by using the scanner for drivers.  Driver support was successful but no lights NIC and the message "cannot find server".  NETWORK card was working fine before, even with the bad hard drive and also after the abandonment of the restoration.  Installed the new drive hard C:-System and that was the main problem, BUT..., the later to restore attempt was always the NIC starts not problem.  Tried the driver directly at Gigabyte support and drivers drivers for the full restoration of the system of records from several different backups.  No love.  Just NIC does not start after the specified load successful pilot.

    All good advice?

  • Windows Home Server - Hardware requirements

    Good afternoon

I am interested in creating a solution of Windows Home Server. I bought a Windows Home Server 2007 OEM media with the intention of creating my own solution, but never got around him a few years ago. My question for the community is the following: what are the hardware requirements for this solution?

For me, it's a question I think I should know, but for some reason any I am at a loss! I think I need at least 2 computers. The first is the server itself, the second is a stand-alone computer that connects to the network.

If you can give me some of the basic information I should know before diving into the Home Server I would really appreciate it. If you have all cards/articles that can help you with representation on what I need to do this would be as phenomenal.

    Thank you in advance!

I confess that I've never used WHS and have no idea about it but. I did some research on Google and found this: http://homeservershow.com/full-tutorial-on-how-to-install-and-setup-whs-version-1.html introduction which then link a fuller version here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/9659/how-to-install-and-setup-windows-home-server/

  • G460: unable to copy files from Windows Home Server

Hi, I just a G460 for my children. The problem is that it does not copy the files on my Windows Home Server. I tried wired and wireless access to my network, but there is no difference. -I can browse the files on my server very well - I can create short text on my server files (IE. I have write access) - OS Win 7 x 64 on laptop - disabled Avast, no difference - other PC (XP, Vista, Win7) can copy the same file easily - reproducible with other files (test file executable is 500 MB and 400 M movie file)-laptop connects to the internet download fine, of a file of 500 M finish at reasonable speeds - copy start , stalls and then she complains about the network connection disappeared. A simultaneous ping to the server shows that it is not correct. The connection never drops. This is reproducible with 100bT wired and Wireless-N. Don't know what there is to say about it. It seems that there is a configuration problem somewhere I hope it can be fixed because otherwise this laptop is going to come back. Thanks, Sander PS the paint job on these laptops is terrible. Gloss black? All - ALL - print digital watch. The laptop has 2 minutes old and already he looked mean. Not the best choice Lenovo. My old T61 seems better

I uninstalled K9 web protection and now things work again. Very very slow for an adapter n, but at least it ends. I notified K9 on the problem.

  • Windows Home Server + Config IP/LAN WRT54G problems

    Hello

I tried to fix this for days now, and I feel more I read on questions from other people who appear to be similar (at the beginning), I realize that I don't know even where to start... [: Confused:]

    What I know:

I can't access my Windows Home Server from outside my home network. Whenever I have try and enter the domain name, setting Page of the WRT54G (identical to display when you enter http://192.168.1.1. inside my network) is displayed. Seems I found a way to configure my router remotely - but it's really not what I want... I rather like to access my home server, but it does not work. My LAN, I don't have a problem to connect to my server via remote desktop, but not from outside.

I'm sure it's a (simple?) Number IP/LAN, but I just don't know how to solve. I know that something is obviously wrong with the IP addresses, but I don't know which ones to change without messing up my network, server, router etc...

    My presentation of Setup/settings:

1.) WRT54G (v6) installed with latest firmware. Active DHCP.

2.) HP MediaSmart Server (running Windows Home Server 2003) is configured with a static IP address > TZO domain name.

    3.) WRT54G Port Forwarding: all need ports (80, 443, 444, 4125, 3389) passed on to the Home Server (192.168.1.222)

What strikes me (as shown in the tab "Status" of WRT54G):

The IP address of the router is the same as my domain TZO address... is that supposed to be like that? -Need help, Pleaseeeeee!

Q1: How can I access my home server from outside my network without pulling up the configuration of my router settings?

Q1: which of my IP addresses & settings need to be changed... and where?

Any help is appreciated...  Many thanks in advance!

    Armin

Simply turn off remote access of configuration on the router or change the port that it sits on.

The problem is that the web INTERFACE of configuration for the wrt54g is on port 80, so when you try to access port 80 (internet) outside it goes directly to the configuration UI instead of the server on port 80.

Don't ask me where it is that I do not run firmware factory on wrt54g nmy.

    Concerning

    Fred

  • Account name My Vista "a name of the user [name] account log does not exist on Windows Home Server" is not, despite the change.

My Windows Home Server (WHS) prefer the same name of user account on all computers that I use - for the connection and easier access to the files. So to my Vista computer, I changed my account [ancien_nom] name [name]. Vista indicates the name of the new account everywhere but the server after a while (!) stopped recognizing my account and complains about "a name of the user [name] account log does not exist on Windows Home Server" suggesting I should change the name of the account on the ESM. Since I have other computers where I can't change the name of the account (work computer), for this purpose I changed the name of the account on my Vista computer.

The reason why the WHS could work properly at the beginning maybe I can connect to the WHS folders in a separate process by using the new account name. Choose to save the password - which might have worked for a while, but no more. I also tried to connect as a network device, but I do not correctly reconnect with the identification information data (and saved).

1 is the name of initial account stored anywhere even if I changed and the reason why it can pop as in this case?

    2. any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    3. or is the problem only on the side WHS - then I might have to turn to a WHS forum

  • Cannot connect to Windows Home Server 2011

I just installed a Windows Servr Home 2011.  I can not all my clients to connect to the server.  All my customers use Win 7 Home Premium.  I can see the server in the Windows Explorer to the customer (my desktop PC).  If I click on the icon of the server, I can browse shared files.  The directions tell to connect you, enter http:/// log in as a URL to the browser. When I do that, I get a 'not found' by DNS.  I tried to enter http:/// connect as URL and he did enter the web page to download the SW to administer the server.  However, the name of the executable if the server name is used must be ComputerConnector (.exe.)  If I downloaded it using the IP address, I get the file ComputerConnector (.exe.)  When I try to run it, I get an error message that says that this name has nonstandard characters.  I renamed the file to use the name of the server and got the same error.  I assume that the name of the original file is in the header.
I also went to (network > servername) in other devices in Windows Explorer and end up downloading a file named ComputerConnector (fe80__b487_7b89_297_e93c) .exe. I get the same error as before.
I have the dashboard 2011 WHS connector installed on my laptop and it works OK.  Given that the office has not connected, I can't configure the server to backup my office.  It is also true for my HTPC and another laptop.
All the computers are in the same homegroup.  I ping the server with the IP address and the name of the server.

I'm posting this on the MSFT Windows Home Server 2011 help forum...
