Network drive - not given permissions

Recently, the PC in question is passed from one domain to another, Windows Easy Transfer was used to transfer the relevant settings. On the new area, said some of the files on a particular server with the new domain user did not have permission to use the file, this is not the case on the server and other PC having access to the file on the domain shows that the folder gives permissions to anyone on the field.

I tried the following possible fixes, but all have failed:

  • Erasing the windows credentials in the control panel.
  • The use of CMD to cancel the map and remap the network grows;
  • Both of the above done and then restarted the PC, then mapped again.

Yet still the problem persists.

I have corrected to change permissions on the PC, but of course that failed.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Thank you

  • Shortcuts in a mapped network drive do not work

    Hello

In a server that is running Windows server 2008 R2 I is a shortcut to an application in a shared folder.

I'm not able to execute/run the shortcut when from another computer, I map a network drive to the shared folder. The error message says "the item 'nameoftheprogram' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, and this shortcut no longer works correctly. You really want to remove this shortcut? »

I tried several different settings in the properties of the shortcut: I checked 'run as administrator' in the shortcut tab > advanced, I tried another setting "run this program in compatibility mode", in the general tab, I played with permissions... Nothing really seems to work.

  • Windows 7 network drive mapping error: "error code: 0 x 80070035 the network path was not found."

I recently started getting an error when you try to access my network drive. Attempt to fix I have also disconnected the drive and tried to reconnect. I get the error: error code: 0 x 80070035 the network path was not found

I am able to map the drive of all the other machines in the hold of the House (Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista).  However, the Windows 7 machine continues to report the error.

I searched the internet for the microsoft Web site and answers and so far nobody seems to have an answer to the problem (and it seems to be a very common problem in Windows 7, based on the number of reports I've met in my search). I'm able to reach the reader through the IP address, but cannot connect in it (continues to re - ask for credentials and I checked the credentials I use are 100% correct).

The only significant event was the address IP changed on the remote disk. What that tells me, is that windows is not updated the name of the drive to the new IP address and confounds seriously on how to get the player passing the correct credentials.

I removed the protection against viruses (a suggestion said it was the cause), but it has no effect. Check my sharing permissions and so many different places that I could, but nothing has changed and all seems OK.

The problem is in Windows 7, but I don't know where all configurations "tricks" are on the (64 bit) OS - has been used for a 32-bit system. Where can I manually fix the DNS or DHCP parameter for the name of the drive?

    SOLUTION

It's a problem with Windows Explorer in Windows 7 do not resolve the computer name target to its IP address. It is not a problem with the firewall or antivirus.

There is a simple workaround solution.  Use the IP address of the target computer, not the computer name.

    (1) find IP address that the computer target is.  It is desirable to give a private static IP address to the target computer, for example, 192.168.1.10, so it does not change.  Use the local windows help when you sit in front of the target computer to do this, if you don't know how.

    (2) when you are sitting in front of the Windows 7 computer, you want to access the target computer, open Windows Explorer and in the address bar type------followed\\192.168.1.10 static address of the target computer, for example, and press enter

If the target computer uses the name of user and password sharing, after a few seconds, you will be prompted credentials.  Enter the same username and password used to log on the target computer when you're sitting in front of it.

The target computer will be added to the list of computer network Windows 7, appearing as an IP address instead of a computer name.  You can access his actions as if it was listed by name instead of the number.

    That's all.

  • Lightroom can not 'see' Network drive

OK, for the last two years of using lightroom, I had my RAW files stored on a xserve RAID which is networked with my editing station.   Nothing about this configuration has changed and has worked very well until Monday (it was for sure a Monday)

Monday, after I installed the plugin x-rite color checker passport, I decided to restart my machine because it became slow have only worked on several large files in Photoshop.  Lightroom wanted to make his weekly backup of the catalog, so I left it.   Fast forward to a few hours later, lightroom has been locked up for sure.  So I had to force quit, and then restart.

When restarting lightroom gave me?  on most of the files on my network drive, a single folder showed normal.  I checked the disk and permissions all's well here.   I tried one of my many backups of catalogue with the same results.     I didn't have time to monkey, so I erased prefs and App folder lightroom support and proceeded to re - install lightroom.    After that I got the same result.  At this point I also noticed in the screen import that he saw only a single folder on the disk...    At that time, I did a catalog completely new, based on this years only images (24 k or so compared to 43 k in my other catalog) and left that go from one day to the next.  all imported correctly and the preview images created, however this new catalogue has the same problem!

    Help, please!

Note, I just tried lightroom on another machine and he sees the thin files.

Have you tried to navigate to the network folder using the interface of the Explorer/finder on that you get when you click "Select source" and choose "Other Source" from there? If you can find the file in question, try to import an image from there.

  • GarageBand looking not connected network drive

When I take my laptop away from my network home and open Garageband, it takes a long time to open and then gives an error message saying that it cannot find a NAS drive (which is installed in my home network).

If I hit OK, then I can use Garageband, but if I try to use sharing, or even if I just mouse over the menu item from action, the application gives me the rotation beach ball and finally the message again that it can't find the network drive appears. It is almost impossible to export the song because when I click to dismiss the pop-up message, the drop of share also disappears.

I don't know why Garageband is looking for the network drive. I tried the sacking of preferences and restart; I even uninstalled Garageband and reinstalled (when I wasn't home).

Of course, when I'm home and can access the network drive, this happens. But it's very embarrassing when I record somewhere else.

It's something to do with my user, because if I log in with a different account, the behavior occurs.

    Update:

While the pilot I know work is not made yet, I did some detective work and explored some other links from HP broadcom WiFi card driver files, and I found one that should work for you.

He says that it is for HP desktop PC, they put the exact same form factor of the card wireless to a desktop PC in a laptop.

I see not why this driver would not work, because the configuration file contains the same hardware ID you have posted.  Here's a partial copy and paste of the setup information file driver, and you can see the hardware ID you have posted is supported by this driver.

  • Home network Windows 7 and XP: can map drives etc network but not to synchronize OneNote

    Hi all

I have a Windows 7 laptop and a desktop XP SP3, all connected with happiness to a wireless router. On both machines, I have the very underrated and generally wonderful notes 2007, which I rely on for the study. I'm reasonably texh-savvy, but I don't know what I don't know, so it is very likely I missed something very obvious.

I can update my OneNote notebooks on the Win 7 to XP machine fine machine, but the Win 7 machine does not update the notebooks on my XP machine without asking for a password.

    I checked the following:

    • They both share the same group, the WORKING group.
    • The OneNote Notebooks folder properties have 'action' and 'allow other users to update' boxes ticked on the tab share
    • The Windows 7 laptop can 'see' the Office XP on the network, but by double-clicking on the icon on desktop XP asks for a password
    • When you look at the map of the network, the XP machine is nestled on the corner and not shown to be 'joined' to the router
    • Portable Win 7 I can map a network drive by using the IP address to a shared folder on the XP machine and move files without any problem
    • "File and Printer Sharing" on the Panel of control-> connections-> 'Properties of the wireless network' network is checked
    • Both machines have static IP addresses
    • I don't put passwords for each machine
    • My computer-> tools-> Folder Options-> enable Simple file sharing is checked
    • Guest account is enabled on the XP machine
    • Password protected sharing is DISABLED on the Win 7 machine

I suspect that there is something that I have not checked/unchecked somewhere on my XP machine.

Why is the Win 7 computer phone harassment me a password when you try to synchronize a OneNote or click the icon under 'network '?

Y at - it an exhaustive list of things that I should check or an article somewhere that covers this? I googled loads, but only have mounted artuicles cloud sharing with OneNote 2010 and sharing of files between Windows 7 and XP, nothing on a password is requested during the synchronization of the OneNote files!

Thanks in advance for your help. I know the legacy tech support is a royal PITA, and I promise you that I will be upgrading to a more sensitive setting when I have the dosh, but in the meantime, I would appreciate some advice! :)

    Steve,

Thanks a lot for the link to this article.
    It was most helpful.

I also found this forum useful post:
    http://www.techsupportforum.com/Networking-Forum/networking-support/114373-cant-map-new-network-drive.html

In particular, he said to check the event log of the computer that you are trying to connect to (the remote computer) to search for an event ID 2011, which would be entered in the time you finally tried to connect and does not.
I did alt-click on the icon MY COMPUTER (from the remote computer) and the menu HANDLE, click the EVENT VIEWER folder (in the left pane), and then the SYSTEM folder under that.
On the right pane, I found an ad for the event ID 2011 at the time wherever I finally tried to connect.

To test this, I went to the VISTA laptop and tried to connect the computer to Office XP again, which gives a different error message on the VISTA laptop.
When I went back on the XP desktop I tried to connect to and looked again to the event log, of course ANOTHER event ID 2011 has been registered with the new time of my additional attempt to connect.

He confirmed that it was likely that the IRPStackSize was the problem, as your proposed article.

Then I printed article how DO TO SAVE AND RESTORE the REGISTER to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/
then backed up the registry (both by running a restore system to register and by exporting from the top level of the regedit).

I then went in regedit on the desktop in XP for the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\LANMANSERVER\Parameters file described in your article.
There was NOT an entry for IRPStackSize in the right pane, so I followed the instructions in the add - it and change it to decimal 15.
I rebooted and tried to connect but still got the same error.
The article said that the default value is 15, so I assumed that adding input IRPStackSize to 15 has not changed anything.

So I went into regedit and changed the value of IRPStackSize of 15 to 18, restarted and it solved the problem.

I found that the following articles is also useful in the resolution of this problem (aside from the one you gave):

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/285089

    http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles/archive/r0803/10r03/10r03.asp

I typed this all this while this might help others who may encounter this same
Error "not enough server storage is available to process this command" when you try to
Map a network drive (or just try to connect) to a XP computer from another computer.

    Thanks much for the lead.
