Network Magic and Cisco router EA4500 UID and password

I use the 5.5.9150.0 version of the free product. I had my last router, with a WRT400N. Since then, I have installed an EA4500 router to replace the WRT400N. I'm glad that Network Magic works with my new router, but I have a problem: I can't connect to my router via Netowrk Magic.

Protection status/Wireless / Wireless Protection settings brings up a window that asks you the router user name and the password. I went to the page "Setting Up: Basics" guide of the user EA4500 (page 13) and tried all the values that I had copied in when I installed the router.

I tried the SSID of the router and the "Linksys Smart Wi - Fi Username ' in the user ID box.

I tried the "Linksys Smart WIFI password", the network, the Guest network password password and the router password (same as the network password).

Nothing has worked. I've only connected to the EA4500 using the Linksys Smart WiFi, username and password, so I'm stuck trying to figure what values to use.

Please help me understand what I am doing wrong. Thank you!

I stumbled in the response:

1. start Network Magic and display the network map.

2. click on the name of the router (just under the router icon).

3. click on Set Up or manage the device.

4. the Linksys WiFi Smart Sign In (to the router) window appears.

5 connect to the router by using the credentials of Smart Wi - Fi that you set up when you have installed the router.

Now, all router commands will work from within Network Magic.

Hello world.  I have a printer in network (wired, not wireless) and Network Magic (5.5.9195.0 - Pure0) shows this device as something totally different.  See screenshot.  The information is reflected is a laptop that I had before.  The IP address is newly affected (was not in the past).  The printer is a Photosmart Premium printer.  I tried to change the NETWORKLIB. XML file (the entry does not disappear), but the wrong information still appears in the network map.

    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Looks like the NIC may have been impossible to remove the information from your old computer from the network and he attributed wrongly to the printer. to correct the problems of network card, see the article on the basis of knowledge of cisco: of Article ID: 19407.

Hello. me and my brother using two laptop computers with win 7. 1 laptop, I created a network using wireless (WI - FI) connection (network name:-ABC). and the laptop 2 my brother joined in this ABC network. But when computer access mobile 1 portable 2 asking a user name and password, I tried computer name and login password, but will not work. Please tell me what will be the user name and password with easy examples.

    Hi Rajkumar,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want no more to this popup asking username and password or to know the user name and password and I'll be happy to answer your query.

What file sharing with another computer on a network, you can share files to "password protected sharing" or not. In your case, you have made changes in the settings and turned on password sharing is another computer application username and password protected.

Let's try the following steps and turn off password protected sharing:

    a. Open advanced sharing by clicking on the Start button settings , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click network and sharing Center, and then in the left pane, click change advanced sharing settings.

    b. click the chevron to expand your current network profile.

    c. under password protected by shares, select turn off password protected sharing

    d. click save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Reference: share files with someone

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Win7 network usename and password

I had one laptop wireless connected to my home network for years and had read/write access to the shared drives / directories during all this time.  Today, I tried to access the shared drives, as usual since my office and asked a network and password user name.

How will I know what they are, so that I can resume the sharing of files between the two machines.

I can see the name of the laptop and the directories shared which of I want to use the file manager on my office, but as soon as I try to see the files in these directories, I wonder username and password.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Hello

Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft Community Forums. You have reached the right place. Let us work together to find the cause of this problem and try to solve.

You can log on to the administrator account on your computer and turn off password protected sharing.

You can disable the password protected sharing on your computer. Follow these steps:

    a. open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, click Network and sharing Center.
b-under sharing and discovery, click the arrow next to password protected sharing, click on stop sharing protected by password and then click on apply.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Win 7 ask network user ID and password

I'm having a problem connecting to a shared printer and a shared disk on a computer XP SP2 from the Profession. My Win 7 machines keep asking for network ID and password, that I have ever created. I have read and tried all of the suggestions of this old thread nothing helps:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-networking/Windows-7-asks-enter-network-password-when/2a8e6d6f-74a1-43C7-8530-24e8522ea955

    Here's what I have:

-All my machines are on the same workgroup. All the machines Win 7 are not in a homegroup.
-Laptop 1: Win 7 Home Premium with password necessary sharing network disabled
Laptop 2: Win 7 Home Premium with password necessary sharing network disabled
Laptop 3: Win XP Pro SP2 with simple files and printers sharing active and has a printer and a USB connected hard drive
Laptop 4: Win XP Pro SP2 with simple file and print sharing enabled and allowed in a shared folder

When 1 or 2 portable Win 7 laptop trying to access 3 laptop (XP pro), the screen that ask you network ID and password always come and I have no password set, but one of these two machines Win 7 has no problem to access the 4 laptop computer that is also running XP Pro. The two XP machines have no problem accessing one or Win 7 machines, and both Win 7 machines have no problem to access each other.  I see four computers on my network card in Windows 7. I know that someone may tend to think the problem is on the side of the XP, but I searched everywhere on my XP machine, including the local policy settings under administrative tools, firewall, date and time setting, etc. The two XP machines is not any antivirus software installed. They are old and have almost nothing except the operating system device drivers and the XP laptop.

One thing I noticed, is that when I double-click the icon of the laptop 3 shown on my Win 7 network card, the ID and password prompt screen entitled the path. I can only say - it's as if the problem is in my Win 7 machine. If I double click on the computer icon laptop 4, I can feel about a second delay and all the shared folders that pop up.

I think I looked everywhere evident that I can possibly watch. Suggestions more? The reason why I want to go 3 laptop is Portable 3 is relatively newer and faster than the 4 laptop and I want old laptop 4 Finally. TIA.

OK, after a few days of curious, I found the problem and indeed it was... so easy. Here's what I missed - on the laptop that I had problem laptop 3, which takes place in Win XP Professional SP2 v2002, there is an option called "Network ID" under the properties of my computer (right click my Comuter), on the computer name tab. Once you click Network ID, go through the Setup Wizard and select "this computer is for home use and is not part of a business network", reboot the machine. Now Win 7 don't ask network and password identification number more.

  • Cisco router: RV110W

I am installing a Cisco RV110W router in my network, currently I have a service contract with TalkTalk broadband, which uses PPOA to connect to the internet. They advised me to put the router in that had mode bridged, what I've done. Te router that they provided is a D-Link DSL-2680.

After plugging the ethernet to the WAN of the Cisco port cable and port LAN 1 of the D-link I can't get the Cisco to initialize the internet.

I select the PPPoE function in the Cisco router, however, when you use the D-Link router, it's usually a PPoA VC Mux connection. It doesn't seem to be an option to select a PPPoA connection in the Cisco router.

When it try to connect there is no response from my modem/router in Bridge mode.

I would use the Cisco router with my current router in this way. If this is not possible, I would like to give the address IP of Cisco have all computers on the network through the Cisco route before arriving to the internet enabling my firewall and access control setting etc to work. I don't know if this would work but that I would use the VPN and QoS options on the cisco too.

Is it possible to have the D-link router/modem function normally and connect the LAN of the D-Link port to the LAN/WAN port on my new cisco to achieve without forcing cisco to connect to the internet and to recognize the connection?

    Any help is very appreciated.

Here you can see the Cisco GUI; Launch the emulator from device online

The different subnet mask thing that should not be, it was just to avoid having two routers using the same network, which has taken care of by changing the 2680 to 192.168.0.1.

You're right about the strange gateway on the WAN connection, it should be 192.168.0.1 (2680).  I think it might be the problem, because your pings are never power the 2680, the RV110W routing table sends those 192.168.0.2 for some reason any.

I'm going to put in place here at home so I can go on it as well, in the average to make sure that you have power cycled at least once, and you might want to try resetting the RV110W and setting up again (what you have done so far has been correct) sound silly I know but sometimes things just stuck.

I put the same scenario here right now, and I'll see if I can make it work.

Oh and the only ping you were missing was the 2680 WAN IP address, but since you can't even ping the router LAN port, it, it won't work anyway, so don't worry it.

  • Problem detection network with Network Magic/Pure platform Service quirks and WUSB54GC

Internet: ISP Modem, Auto-IP, DNS Auto, no connection cable

Operating system: Windows XP Pro SP3 (latest updates as of 17/01/2010)
Drivers: Latest from Linksys site (v4.9.90 setup.exe download)
Programs of security software: Comodo & Panda Cloud Antivirus Firewall
Configs of security software: uninstalled, installed or disabled, and installed/enabled

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEMS:

No wireless network is detected on the computer with the installed adapter WUSB54GC.  Cell phones, printer (located in the same office) and game console, receive positive signals / have no connectivity problem.  With a new installation of Windows (i.e. the BONES cost installation before using each method) I tried to install the unit using the following methods: 1) using the Setup program on the CD-ROM included, 2) using the last program (drivers) site Web of Linksys, install 3) manually through the device with drivers from the Disk Manager and installing 4) manually through the Device Manager with the newer drivers from the Web site Linksys.  In addition, I tried with the firewall disabled/uninstalled software.

I had some success using the Linksys Wireless Manager program that is included in the installation program.  However, it is only if I choose the option 'connect to the hidden network' when the Wireless Manager is ran in the last step of the Installer (no network is detected the case).  The quirks are that the network is not hidden, and after Setup is complete, I can see all the wireless LANs with the Linksys Wireless Manager (no need to check the option hidden network).  After a few diagnostic tests, I think that the Network Magic software that is installed in quiet mode with the Linksys software is at the origin of the problem.

During the detailed above method that allowed me to connect to the network, I used the firewall software to observe that connectivity can be established only if nmsrvc.exe, a component of the network Network Magic/pure software platform that is installed silently, is allowed access to the network.  After this program to access the Linksys Wireless Manager network can detect networks normally and connectivity problems disappeared.  After he logged initially I can even kill the process, its assistance process and the program manager wireless, still maintain connectivity.  I also thought about this magic (AKA pure networks platform service) network installation two other network protocols that when disabled preventing connectivity.  With certainty the adapter only works if I finish the complete installation program by using the hidden network option and continue to use linksys wireless/network magic software later.

I'm trying to understand why the Network Magic software is necessary to detect and use all networks.  As I said originally, I tried just to install the drivers through the device without success Manager.  The adapter is configured on a machine Pentium 4 of 2001, and this software supports 40 MB of precious CPU cycles and memory.  I want to connect to my wireless network and use the computer without software bloated slow down the computer even more.  My own conclusion, after all these tests are that my router needs the network magic to work properly for some reason, but if that's true, I would at least use Windows connects to the network as Linksys Wireless Manager uses 30MB RAM itself.  Of course, it's more a problem advanced if I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read all this and make their contribution.  Thank you.

I think that the most appropriate statement would be that the WUSB54GC has some compatibility issues with Windows XP SP3.

Specifying the age of the available Linksys drivers I did some research and discovered that the WUSB54GCv3 uses a third party (a common practice), the Ralink RT2800UD chipset.  Latest Ralink drivers for this chipset are over a year newer than the official drivers from Linksys.  They require just a few reconfiguration so that they work with Linksys WUSB54GCv3.  With the updated drivers comes better compatibility and performance often.

Once I installed these drivers updated the device could detect local wireless normally, and I was able to use the Zero Windows wireless utility to connect to my network.  I think that others with similar compatibility problems will have the same result.  For more information and links to these pilots updated already visit reconfigured: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/.  There are not official, updated drivers for many other Linksys products here.  Credit for the drivers and the Web site goes to this person: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/about.

  • Internal and external customers see certificate of Cisco router, NOT Exchange SSL certificate

Cisco 876 Integrated Services router (ISR)
    Exchange Server 2010 SP1

    Customer: 2013 Outlook, OWA, ActiveSync WP7/WP8 (?)

Put us in place a new Cisco ISR. Almost everything works fine, with a few exceptions. Exchange e-mail stopped altogether for several days until I realized that I needed to redirect the ports, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS, by external to the Exchange Server. Now, mail flow is fine, but...

Every time I start Outlook, I get a certificate error. When I look at the certificate in the error popup, it points actually to certificate self-signed Cisco router. When we try to use the Windows phones, they get a "certificate error" and direct the user to the network administrator. Even with OWA: a certificate error, even if it can be "accepted" / overridden.

Each customer can still work, with the exception of Windows phones. In Outlook and OWA, mail is always be sent and received, but must be accepted manually that the certificate is wrong before the customer takes care, and then it takes a little longer to load.

    Any ideas?

I did "" port forwarding on the pots of 25, 80 and 443. Again, I did it yesterday and now mail seems to flow, whereas before, even if we could enter the client with Certificate error, message not be received. (There was also a problem with mail however not passed, but that was due to our mail relay provider and was set yesterday as well...)

Everything worked fine with the previous router (obviously). It was a high-end, the level of consumption Fritz! Box commonly used in Germany. I also had to allow ports through this box is not unlike using the nat ip inside static commands on the 876, but I don't know what he could have let his own or why SRI is the Exchange Server application SSL certificate hijacking.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If we have actually figured this out today. The internal DHCP Server distributing the a DNS Server public as well as the internal DNS. The internal DNS was time and the customer became the external IP address of the public DNS and it received an unexpected cert of the router. Once we removed the public DNS servers from the DHCP server and used only DNS servers in-house, that the issue went away. Logical after we realized what was going on.

  • Need some advice about the VPN between local Cisco router and remote Watchguard

    Hi all

I am configuring a Cisco 887 to VPN router to a device of watchguard at the remote site.

From what I understand, the VPN tunnel is in PLACE. I can ping to the remote server on the 192.168.110.0 of the network, but whenever I try to navigate to it on the local server, it wouldn't work.

I ping the remote server via the IP address on the local server, but not on the Cisco router. Is - will this work as expected?

Crypto ACL 102, should really include only 1 line, that is to say:

    10 permit ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.110.0 0.0.0.255

and you should have the image mirror on the remote end ACL line too.

PLS, remove the remaining lines on 102 ACL ACL.

I guess that the ACL 101 is NAT exemption, if it is pls include "deny ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.110.0 0.0.0.255" on top of your current line "license".

Clear the tunnels as well as the NAT translation table after the changes described above.

  • Replace/upgrade my router after purchase/adding a 'Smart' to my network TV and now have a noise to connect/disconnect running in background.

Original title: connect/disconnect sounds in the background

I had to replace/upgrade to update my wifi router after purchase/adding a 'Smart' to my network TV and now have a noise to connect/disconnect running in the background, on something, every few minutes.  It does not affect the operation of my computer, but it is very annoying. Cut the old router market and connect and disconnect before replacement, but did not any noise so I don't think it is related to that.  I can't find any evidence of the old router on the computer anyway.  I hope you can help me!

    Hi Danielle65,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can also perform a clean boot and check if it helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to a Normal startup once you are finished.

    Method 2:

You can also check in Event Viewer about what is causing the problem. Alternatively, you can publish the results, so that we can help you solve the problem.

    Open event viewer

What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)

  • Router EA4500, name of user and password admin vs ssid/wpa

The web-settings EA4500 application requests a user name and password.  The user name is "admin" and the password is my long (60 characters) wpa key.  I can't see where I can change the password but it says that I will lose all wireless connections.  It's not logical for me.  I think the router administration user name and password are completely separate from the ssid and wpa key. This was the case with my previous LinkSys Router.

Am I missing something?  I would like a router administration user name to be something other than the generic "admin" and password that is easier than my wpa key long.  I want a key ssid and wpa separate (what I have currently).

Is this possible and how?  Thank you.

I don't know how the EA4500 works exactly, but you should be able to change the router password to access the web interface on the Administration page. Compare demo ui: http://ui.linksys.com/files/EA4500/2.0.36/Management.htm

I think that CiscoConnect sets it up to use the same router password and WPA password.

You can change the password only through the web interface, too.

But after changing only the admin password or the password, I think that you are not able to use CiscoConnect more, because it depends on the same.

You cannot change the user name and there is no purpose in doing this. They only check the password anyway...

  • How to distinguish the physical interface and logic (subinterface) interface to the Cisco router/Switch?

    Hi Expert,

How to distinguish the physical interface and logic (subinterface) interface to the Cisco router/Switch? Can you please clarify a formal way for this so have?

A physical interface is numbered with the same name of the interface when printing on the physical port. For example "GigabitEthernet 0/1" corresponds to port 1 of the 0 module (or the base unit).

A logical interface can be a subinterface on a routed port and will have a point ("". "") preceding the number sous-interface (ex. GigabitEthernet 0/1.1). It can also be a loop or a virtual interface (on a router this could also include interfaces like the tunnel and virtual tunnel or VTI types). A switch may also have a VLAN logical interfaces (e.g. interface vlan 1) which are used as layer 3 virtual interfaces of type.
