  In a typical sceanrio, LAN and WIFI are bridged and part of the same subnet. There is no functional difference, and there is no routing involved.

  Once the routing is involved. that is, if two devices are on different subnets, there may be complications. First, he need to distiguish between plain old routing and NAT routing (as typically found in consumer devices).

  For a classic routing (assuming that all intermediate routers have routing tables appropriate), the only question here is the firewall. The routers neeed to allow traffic and endpoints (your windows computer and the MyRIO) must allow connections from other subnets. Most often, they only allow local connections by default for security reasons.

  For NAT routing, the LAN subnet is invisible to the public internet. The entire network has only (usually) a public IP address. The NAT router performs the tracking of a NAT table that remembers the local IP address of outging requests (for example if you surf the web) and therefore knows where the incoming responses sent from the internet, modify the headers of packets and pushing them to the side LAN. This only works for connections initiated from the local network ougting. If the connection is from the outside, all that is visible is the public IP address of the router. In order to run a service on a computer on the local network, the router needs to know about it. This is what port forwarding rules are everything. In general, you must manually configure the router, but some special applcations can also create automatic transfer rules (whether by the router via an ALG, or by the customer via UPNP).

  In short, you need to deal with two problems:

  • Make sure that the packages can find their way to the destination (routing, nat, etc.)
  • Verify that packets are allowed to make this trip (firewall policies).

  To check the address IP connect a computer/laptop computer directly to the router on its ethernet port and click on Start > all programs > Accessories > guest... A black box will appear (command prompt)... In the command prompt window type ipconfig and press "Enter"... Look for Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection address IP, subnet mask, and default gateway...

  The address of a default gateway should be the IP address of your router...

  I get unidentified network. I got a netgear router before this one, and it worked perfectly.

  When I get to the part where I find the {GUID} part, I find that it is not in the registry where it says that this is supposed to be.

  Tell them what you have already tried and the fact that TCP/IPv6 is disconnected (they want may to reconnect it before you start).

  I can't connect to the internet after installing Windows 7 64 bit. I can see the router wireless/network from my computer, but it has sometimes limited connectivity or it says connected but no internet access. I used Windows diagnostic tools to try to fix it but it does not work, and my router connects without a doubt to the internet such that I now use on a portable computer that is on the same network. I would like to know if anyone else has this problem and if they fixed. I tried to change the physical address of the connection to the local network, but it didn't work, I guess because I connect via radio and no cable, and I heard similar stories on other forums that this can be a problem more common I suspect.   OK I finally got to work, all we needed was for me to download the latest drivers (Realtek 8185 wireless card) off-site and install in compatibility mode, and then he worked all of a sudden. I hope this will help someone suffering from a similar problem!

  Pei route add 192.168.250.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.254.1

  You need the p - switch to the permanent road (or otherwise it will not survive a reboot).  You can get the address of the gateway with the ipconfig command.

When using my old Airport Express in the same way that I could easily monitor devices using Airport utility (6.3.6) list on my MacBook Pro (System 10.11.2) of devices.  Now, I'm flying blind.  It is obvious that my various devices are via the Linksys or the most convenient airport for Wi - Fi access because of what is MISSING from the device list in Airport utility, it would be nice to be able to control all devices in Airport utility or another utility.   Just specify which bridge you're talking... The term is overused elsewhere.

  In this case, you should be able to use a free tool like Fing or iNet version on your iOS devices.

  On a Mac, you can use a tool like peakhour which is excellent, because the two units must have available SNMP.

  It will not work if you have the Linksys in universal Repeater Configuration.

  I was hoping that Illustrator CC 2014 (for my Mac) has been a much better alternative to Microsoft Visio (for PC which I don't own) who has a whole rich known to computer network included... computer forms, laptops, monitors, routers, switches, servers, clouds, etc.  These forms should be simple "line drawings".

  But in Illustrator I see only a little, a few lame forms in the form library "Communications".  There isn't even a picture of a laptop.

  I looking in the wrong place in Illustrator?  Is there a place to Adobe to download additional forms to build a library, or an existing library, with forms that I hope? I went looking on the internet for download libraries of form with appropriate images, without success.

  Looks like your best bet would be to search for games of a certain type vector icons. There are a multitude of games out there to use if you are not comfortable making your own. As I said there are a lot of choices if you want for free or if you're willing to pay for some will depend on where you look for them.

  I just upgraded my router, Fritz! Box 7490, & I need to re-set my network help please.

  Before the upgrade, I had a very old router Aolynk. This was connected to my TC, the last giving us WiFi for our House, but also my parents House, via an Ethernet cable connecting the TC at the airport Exremem BS. Beside that, I use the TC to occasionally save the iMac & the RMBR & the old router sent our CCTV to phones via an Ethernet cable. The new router is now the primary device & our hub WiFi (Wireless AC active). I read an article that I thought would help, but I had no success.

  I need assistance with the above, and some tips on how to host 6 other our audio/video system Ethernet cables (two rooms, each show 3 cables, one for the Smart TV, APR or other devices requiring an update and media coils).

  I want it is-

  1. to put WiFi on my parents. After reading the article, I followed the instructions, linking the TC with my iMac, turn off the "WiFi" on the TC & activation of Bridge mode. I got the TC & tried to thread failed. Run the cable to the Lan port of the router to the WLAN or a LAN on the TC port? I want to use the TC in this way, so I can release the LAN ports of the router, which I have 3 (Gigabit). The 4th is used for the Internet. I then connect an Ethernet cable between a LAN on the TC to the BS port extreme airport as before. I have to configure EI?

  2. I want the Ethernet of CCTV cable through the TC rather than use one of the ports on the router, which is the situation at present. (Of course I don't want another outgoing cable TC goes to the router as it defeats the purpose to release the ports on the router.)   However if you are having problems... now go out and buy a 8 ports gigabit switch... It is extremely cheap point now and better than being frustrated by the lack of ports. I run a complex system... but everything is connected via a 16 port gigabit switch. So I never need to mess with the majority of the cables... it does not move even if Exchange you routers and AP autour.
