Network with wireless bridge and Repeater cable

Hello

I'm about to set up a network composed of 3 routers. The first router R1 is in the basement of my house, the second router R2 is on the first floor and the third router R3 is on the second floor. My goal is to have a single network in the House full (no subnetting) and wifi available at the 1. and 2. floor - so that I can spend on these two floors with no disturbance.

R1 connects to the ISP. R1 is a DHCP server for the local network. It has the IP 192.168.0.1 and creates the 192.168.0.0 network. All devices on the network should have an IP address in the range of 192.168.0.1 - 254. WiFi is turned off. It should be possible to connect a wired switch, then the computers to the switch.

R2 has a wired to R1. R2 should work as a wireless access point. DHCP on the router must be switched off. Units to connect to this access point should get their IP address from the DHCP server on R1 (or they have a static IP address).

R3 is a Repeater that extends the network R2 wireless.

My question - what type of routers must choose which supported this configuration (R1, R2, R3))? In particular, I don't know how to configure R2 and R3.

The routers are DHCP server that manages the network IP address. If you connect two routers, you disable the DHCP server on the 2nd router and set up as a simple access point whose IP address is within the range of the main router (cascaded via LAN to LAN), or you can change the IP address of the router 2nd at a different range and keep its active DHCP server (cascading through the LAN to WAN).

Here is an article that would explain it better:

  • Very slow network with 10 Workstation and Windows 8 / 8.1 Windows

    Hello

I come to you because I have a problem with the network with 10 Workstation and Windows 8 / 8.1

In fact, if I copy files from or to a virtual machine with my host of Windows 8 by sharing Windows (SMB / CIFS), it is very very slow and unusable.

Example: My host is a Windows 8 x 64 and Windows 8 x 64 host: transfer speed is about 100 or 200 KB/s and often 0 KB/s (transfer seems to be paused).

With a guest Windows 8.1, same problem.

After many tests, I also tried with Windows PE 5 (same kernel as Windows 8.1): same problem, unusable.

But, miracle, if I use "Utility MSI - X OFF" Intel, I reboot and the problem disappears.

    There:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?lang=eng & DwnldID = 18946

Someone in this community, said that it have the same problem and a workaround solution was not to use Intel e1000e but e1000 then: I must admit, it works.

With e1000, speed is around 30 to 60 MB/s and stable.

But, by default, 10 Workstation e1000e value when I create a new VM Windows 8.1, so it's a problem... Do not manually change for each new virtual machine and explain this to my students.

Please, you can reproduce this bug and fix it?

    Thank you very much.

New workstation 10.0.2 fixed this bug. Perfect.

  • Network with the Imac and W-Vista

I want to create a network with my new Imac. being the center of the network. I have OS Snow Leopard on Imac. The computer windows vista laptop will be the 2nd computer.

Your network is a peer-to-peer Network. On a peer-to-peer network there is no hand or computer center.

You must set both computers to share and they should be able to connect to each other.

  • Wireless network with 2 computers and a HP J4680 printer with connection problem

I have two computers.  Each of them has been connected to the HP Officejet J4680.  I can "ping" the printer from both computers and get a response.  I can print documents to the printer to a computer (A), but not the other (B).  Each computer uses the same IP address and Port HP_192.168.1.3_CN95L981CS052X 192.168.1.3 for the wireless printer.

Today, I learned if both computers are turned on, I can print from computer B, using the printer profile stored in A computer.

I reinstalled the driver several times.  I reconnect the printer to the network.  The troubleshooting provided by HP software was not able to determine why computer B will not recognize the wireless printer.

I don't want have always both computers to print to the printer wireless.

Sounds like it could be a problem with the software. To begin with, that I want to be sure that remove us the software completely and correctly before you continue. Follow the instructions below and see what happens after.

First of all, if you use a USB cable, be sure to remove it (it's important). Do not plug it in again until the software instructs you. Through devices and printers, programs and features and issues Device Manager and make sure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. As indicated, and then restart the computer.

In the menu START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here, I want you to press Ctrl + A, and press DELETE. Some files you cannot delete them, ignore these files and delete the majority that allows it to.

find and install SOFTWARE to FEATURE FULL if it is available:

  • Can play.wma files fully but only seconds of .mp3 files on a home network with Windows 7 and WMP 12.0.7601 wireless

    Hello community,

I have a problem with Windows Media Player 12.0.7061 when I try to listen to music through my home network Windows 7.  Windows Media Player has no problem playing the media all types of files locally on the Windows 7 system.  On my home network, .wma files play well through the (Pioneer) wireless speaker, but .mp3 and .mp4 files only play for the first ~ 5 seconds and then the audio stops.  If I wait long enough, Windows Media Player will skip to the next song and continue to play the .wma file.

Is this a problem of DRM?  My home wireless network is too slow to allow .mp3 or .mp4 fully transmit the wireless speaker?

    Thank you!

Problem dealt with.  It's a problem of bandwidth of wireless network.

  • I am able to network a wireless laptop and a new Vizio TV with WiFi built-in?

original title: can I phone network wifi and tv

I have a toshiba laptop computer wifi and verizon wireless broadband router.  bought vizio tv with wifi (vizio called "via").  I can access the WiFi directly from the tv through the presets 'widgets', for example, facebook, twitter, netflix.  can I network the laptop and the tv via wifi.  for example can I wireless use the TV as a screen to the laptop.  I know that I can use ports vga to do this, but thought that maybe there was a way to wirelessly connect their.

    Hello

As the laptop and the Vizio are connected by wireless network they can only connect with what is available via the network interface.

If the Vizio is capable of outputting its Visual TV content via the Wiereless connection, then it would be possible to look at the picture on the laptop.

Check with support from Vizio if such output available

  • My Tablet Acer Iconia A500 network with my PC and stream movies does

I have an Acer Iconia A500 tablet which is connected to the internet at home through my Netgear N150 Wireless Modem Router.

The router also has a 2 x 32-bit Windows 7 computers connected through an ethernet cable, and they are connected to each other, that is to say: they play well and can see each other files, use each other printers etc..

I have a lot of films and videos on a hard drive of the PC and my question is: if I can set up my tablet to * SEE * or the other 2 in PC network, access to their hard drives and stream movies on my Tablet while I sit outside or anywhere elsewhere in the House?

Here is a link to an article that shows how to use an application to access Windows file from an Android device shares... Insertion of the usual disclaimer that I've not actually done it myself, it might be worth a try.

  • How can I manually remove a network adapter wireless, hidden and corrupt "Network connections" in Windows 7?

I need to locate and remove a network hidden in Windows 7 device manually.  The device is called "Wireless network connection" but does not appear in network connections.  The reason why I know that its there is when I try to rename "Wireless Network Connection 2" to "Wireless network connection" I get an error that the connection already exists, even if the device has been uninstalled and is not listed.  I have to remove this connection because it is completely corrupt and preventing any wireless with a red X in the system tray.  The adapter works fine on another machine.  I tried showing hidden devices in device but Manager that has not worked.

Open a command line window and type the following two lines:

    Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1
    Start devmgmt.msc

In this special Device Manager window. in the menu, click view and then Show hidden devices

Unwanted devices will appear dimmed. You right-click on them from there and uninstall them.

Then return to your network center and rename your adapters for what you want without the sign #.

  • Want to 700-230: how to access the BIOS on machine with wireless keyboard and no keyboard on the PC port

    Hi all

I have a HP Envy 700-230 which has a wireless keyboard

How am I supposed to access the BIOS that the keyboard drivers are not loaded until after the machine and there is no normal keyboard connects on this PC for a wired keyboard

With this kind of computor how am supposed to access the BIOS

Obviously to start the reports a keyboard error and suggest I press ESC to access the BIOS that I can't because at startup, there is no current keyboard.

Thanks for any help on this.

    Jeanette

While not a definitive answer, but try a wired USB keyboard instead wireless.  There may be a setting in the BIOS to change the way the keyboard interacts at the start but, of course, you need to enter the BIOS.  Looking at the other comments on this issue, if you happen to have a keyboard PS/2 and a PS/2 to USB adapter, then this seems to be a better choice.  Plug the PS/2 on the PS/2 keyboard to USB adapter and then try that at startup to access the BIOS.  Then, find the setting to allow the keyboard to be recognized at startup.  Another solution is to move the USB port, the wireless keyboard use.  If the rear ports, move forward, if forward move backward.

Let me know if one of these help.

  • Separate networks with wireless printing

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 and it is connected wireless to router in our company.  The office we have is connected to a separate network and I was wondering how to connect to them using the WiFi feature because USB is used for a separate desktop computer. The printer connects to the router, but is unable to use the IP address, because this isn't the same network.

    Hello

They must be on the same network. Option: It is an ePrint printer, you can send (email) to his e-mail address to print file formats supported. Supported file formats:

    Microsoft Word
    Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Excel (HP highly recommends that preview you documents in Excel before printing)
    Text (.txt) files
    PDF
    HTML
Images (bmp, jpg, png, gif, tiff)

    Kind regards.
