Networking issues

I have been using hp 530 Notebook for 10months now, but my computer, adapter and internet graphics are missing from my network and sharing Center last week. So my network in my notification area always is showing a red X.Please assistance.

Can clarify you what you mean by "phone modem", are you saying the built in phone on HP 530 modem port, and you use "dial-up" or by using the LAN port for you to connect to a modem of DSL type?

If using the dial upward with the phone modem and dial-up don't work, then check the device (in startup type devmgnt.msc) Manager, you see a red or yellow mark next to the modem in Device Manager?

If you are using LAN to LAN, check your modem DSL, all the lights on? A way to ensure that DSL modem works, is to unplug the power to the modem, wait 10 seconds and branch again once, wait all lighte turn on (power, link, etc.) may be that the activity light should be in brinking. -If not all of the lights are on, you must call your internet service provider. In addition, some modem has a 'standby' button, make sure that is not pressed.

If the modem withdraws, then could be diagnosing the setting on the side messed somehow, if you have still the CD that came with the modem, install again, or right of the mouse on the red X and run Windows.

If it does not return internet, access device (run devmgmt.msc) Manager, check the status "network cards", once again if there is red or yellow marks, either the adapter is bad or driver update required.

  • Server 2008 Network issues: supposed routing problem

    Hey,.

    I'm quite new to ESXi and virtualization, but after going to a network of customers of the otherday and the discovery of a few quirks, I downloaded ESXi5 and I am experiancing the same weird questions here.

    Essentially the issue I found was that I could perform nslookup against a name short end but ping or attempt to connect to a share on the short name did not work.

    Ping or connect to a share on FQDN works as expected as the fact using one IP address.

    I installed a new copy of ESXi5 and then treated a virtual computer running server 2008 here in the House.

    Upon installation, the machine could not ping itself or any network with a name short but device could run nslookups.

    New ping and connect to shares works very well on IP and domain FULL name

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.

    EDIT: I will add that I installed a copy of Server 2008 on a standard in the House and short machine work exactly as expected.


    Edit 2: I looked into this more and my routing table shows 0.0.0.0 network - prefix 0 - Gateway 192.168.0.1.

    This network has no switches, concentrators, simple as it is just a test home network. How can I solve this problem of routing?

    The ping command is interpreting your hostname, 0x3c, as a hexadecimal number and deciding that you want to ping 0.0.0.60. Is not a valid remote, so ping generates an unknown error.

    It is strongly recommended that a Windows Server name starts with a letter, and you have found one of the strange bugs about why.

  • Sudden home networking issues

    Product name: Macbook Pro 13 inch Retina early 2015.

    OS (when the problem started): Yosemite 10.10.5

    OS (now): El Capitan 10.11.5

    The problem

    So yesterday my Mac Wifi connection dropped suddenly. So, I moved to lightning Ethernet connection which has varied between does not and VERY slow, almost unusable. I work from home online, so the last 2 days I was not able to do anything.

    I can connect to Wifi, Mac said Internet: accessible. I can ping. But can not browse and other tools such as Google Drive and Dropbox are unable to connect.

    So far, this would indicate a problem with my network or my router, rather than my right to the machine? However, my Android phone works fine with Wifi.

    Things I've tried:

    I've been on Yosemite 10.10.5. I followed all the troubleshooting steps basis and the following:

    • Reset my SMC.
    • Reset my PRAM.
    • I turned off the Bluetooth.
    • I deleted the files in Network preferences to reset a reboot.
    • I "forgot" my home network to reset it like that.
    • Running reports "wireless diagnosis" everything is "as planned."
    • Attach to the Wireless on my Android Nexus 5 X hotspot. Connects to the Wifi but not Internet after 10 seconds. Sometimes not at all.

    Then, I took a backup and upgrade to El Capitan. The strange thing is, about an hour after the upgrade, my ethernet cable was working fine again! About 14:00 yesterday at 09:00 today when I turned on it to start working.

    NOTE: I connect to the network fine, and Google Drive and Dropbox plugins start synchronization. Full report 'sync', then, after about 10 seconds, they say "unable to connect". Holding "option/alt" and clicking on the Wifi symbol in the toolbar says "Internet: accessible. Indeed, I can 'ping' very well. There is no loss of data packets. So could it be a software on my machine which has suddenly become crazy and prevents connections other than the pings? I have run Avast Anti-virus, but which has worked for months and is running as I type this. Similar posts often get answers their questions about firewalls and proxies that might cause the problem. I only have Avast.

    Affirmations:

    If it was a problem with my router, my phone would not have a problem too?

    If it's a problem with my Mac, why would Internet suddenly started working again after a while?

    I write this in a coffee shop, using their Wifi and it works fine. I don't have whatever it is off on my machine. Yet once, which suggests a problem with my network rather than the phone.

    Is this something that could be fixed to an Apple Store? As I suspected, it works very well to the coffee then probably it would work fine in the Apple store and they don't know what to do.

    It is very difficult to debug an Internet without Internet problem.

    First of all uninstall AVAST from the system. then open system preferences > network > enter your network > what is place please do as automatic. What, the other DNS settings, preferred networks etc please post.

  • Home Networking issue - Apple Extreme + 2 airports of Apple

    I was wondering if there was nothing to do with my current setup or if I expanded my efforts wireless...

    This is the current situation. Internet broadband from Time Warner. I've reconfigured the Arris modem to act as the router and set up my Airport Extreme as the modem. Cable broadband wired in Arris - ethernet in Airport Extreme. Running Mac OS on everything.

    Airport Extreme radio 2.4 ghz to Airport Express in a room in the corridor (defined on the extension of the network). (All THE LATEST MODELS of AIRPORT EXTREME & EXPRESS)

    2nd Airport express in the bedroom (network extension) - Apple TV connected to wireless.

    It would be a bit of a pain to wire all of the way in which the provision is. I live in an apartment in Brooklyn, so there is a lot of interference. I configured everything for the best channels possible & DNS settings.

    In the living room, I have to get + 115 MB/s - and barely sufficient in the bedroom to disseminate the Apple TV. Some days are better than others, but I would really like to try for more consistency.

    I guess my question is I've done everything I can do to maximize the speed (without wiring or have internet installed in the back-end of the apartment).

    Is there anything else I can do?  Here is a picture of the configuration. Thank you.

    Assuming that the diagram on the left is about geometrically exact, the AirPort Express to the show probably is not much other than contributing to wireless interference which is almost certainly make life miserable for you. AirPort Express 2 has to communicate wirelessly with AirPort Extreme, as shown in the diagram of the AirPort Utility, but it is still further than what is Airport Express 1. Apple TV can connect to, or not, but its location relative to the extreme, is a reliable streaming challenge.

    Try moving 1 Express airport closest to the extreme, or position the extreme in a more central location. Ideally, the extreme should be in 1 room and 1 Express should be in the living room, creating a network topology more closely to what is stated in the form of AirPort Utility.

    Since you will need a cable between it and the modem which does essentially the same thing as the extreme and Express 1 with Ethernet cable anyway, and it's the only solution, you are likely to find acceptable. A network 'Wireless' is always a study of compromise. Video streaming is gourmet in-band bandwidth and intolerant to the interference. As much as you don't want to install one, a cable network is the solution to this problem.

    I configured everything to the best possible channels .

    Leave them all on "automatic". Try to manually force selection of the channel to be relatively "quiet" ones is a futile exercise because everybody does the same thing. "Automatic" frequency agility allows the specified channel to become unusable.

  • Networking issues: cannot share files or printers.

    I use a PC and a laptop. I connected them via an ethernet network cable. The problem is that I can't share my printer on the network. I have internet on the PC and laptop. I can see the computer 'host' through the laptop and I can see the "guest" through desktop PC. My printer is hooked up and I can use it on the computer 'host', but not 'invited '.   • Home networking issues

    OK, here's the problem. I networked my 3 computers together; 1 home, 1 vista home, 1 7 home xp. The XP tells me in my network places connections and 2 other computers through the internet. It has 2 categories showing the local network and internet. Why is that happening and how can I solve this problem? My vista and 7 computers show that a single network.

    Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

    Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    In Windows 7 and Vista, set the Type of network to 'Private', not 'Public '.

    In Vista, turn on password protected sharing. In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You don't want to use the residential group unless you have all Windows 7 machines. In sharing advanced:

    Discovery of plug in the network
    Open the files and printers sharing
    Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, turning on window file sharing and printer as the above will take care of that for you. In XP, you can run the Network Setup Wizard or just enable file sharing / print in the Windows XP firewall exceptions. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

    (Vista and Windows 7) Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
    Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

    Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. In Vista and Windows 7 I usually shares its office and the Public directory.

  • Unable to show the XP on Vista computer and a few other networking issues

    I tried to get my network set in place over the past two days without success.  The details of the network are:

    Main computer is under XP Professional SP3 with the printer and the router connected to it.  I also have a laptop running Vista professional that connect wirelessly to the router.  I am able to ping the desktop from the laptop, but not vice versa.  Both computers have the same subnet and default gateway address.  By reading some troubleshooting, it was advised to run the microsoft patch to install the LLTD Responder on the xp machine I did.  I can see the files in the subfolders, but when I run services.msc program is not for me to start.    Desktop and laptop computer are in the same workgroup.  Before you install the hotfix, I could see the laptop from the network to the desktop but now I can't.  I also noticed that even if I have the LLTD my laptop configured to start automatically, it is not this.  In fact, it seems to stop automatically, and I have to restart the service.

    I also try to put in place so that I can print from my laptop and my ipad sharing printer.  The printer and the desktop are set to share printers, but I can't find it on the laptop.  I'm assuming that once I see the desktop on the network it 'may' reslove this problem.

    Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to solve the problem?  I can always connect all computers to the internet. I also see the two computers on the network when I run the network configuration in norton 360.

    N ° if it never works, then a firewall is not your problem.  Remember that Microsoft Networking can take up to 15 minutes to find a new devices on the network.  If it does not appear and you want to speed up the process a bit, try to search for the computer...

    Start-> Search-> [for files & folders (the classic case)]
    then, down in the section 'Search other elements', select 'computers '.
    Enter the name of the other computer, and then click "search now".

    This launches a pretty aggressive search for the other computer.

    Devil 3. Where are these PCI slots anyway? I can't see them not marked on the diagram of the motherboard and that you do not want to disassemble my system to find out immediately.

    (2) If an external sound card then what the external model of the card number wireless in my system? Room not the HP. I know it's a Broadcom.

    I have spent hours online with HP support and so far can't anyone in their chain of support who really knows what that something else on the networks so that tell them their response cards.

    OK, the solution, or at least an explanation.

    To find the card wireless in the expansion slot, you will need to remove the metal shield on the top of the motherboard.

    Once you do this, you can see 2 expansion slots mini which is the wireless network card

  • C6100 odd network issues

    I have a quad C6100 XS23-TY3 node. They are installed in an ESXi 5.0U1 cluster and have two network cards shipped for the management, vmotion, and vm production network but also a half-height intel PCIE double port nic in the expansion Bay that serves as a controller of iSCSI to round robin.  Nodes 1 and 2 work very well while both are turned on and have been like that for a while. Nodes 3 and 4 cannot be on at the same time and maintain a consistent ping to the management network.  If either one are turned off other functions perfectly. I was pulling my hair out trying to understand what is different and why they do.  Please let me know any information that would be useful to resolve this, and I'll be happy to provide it.

    I was actually able to solve my problem. It seems that the blade I replaced was not identical to that which precedes it and installing esxi has attempted to use the same mac address as the previous Board, which was originally fussing over the switch. A new installation of esxi taken care of him and everyone is happy now.

    5. Open the "Config" folder and do the same thing for the "SharePoint" folder
    6. Finally, open the "SharePoint" folder, and there should be individual for each shared folder ".plist" files
    7. For the part that you want to change the name, get info on the file matching ".plist" and give the "everyone" user "read and write" access (ditto)
    8. Rename the file "old_name.plist" in "new_desired_name.plist".
    9. Open the file in a text editor and replace instances of "ancien_nom" the "new_desired_name" (same as the name of the file). Do this ONLY for the following 4 keys: name, afp_name, ftp_name and smb_name. Do NOT change the key directory_path entry (this is the location of the folder on the hard disk)

    Well, it was not as easy as I thought... I had my broadband internet, notified my ISP's high-speed, got a modem and a netgear rangemax router and thougt it would be easy.  I was wrong!  I can't get my Inspiron 6000 to view web sites after you connect to the router, it just says: can not find the server.  It works very well hung w / cable ethernet but not displaying not websites on the wireless, it will connect to the network and have excellent speed, but it doesn't load the pages... I don't know what else to do, my dimension 2350 desktop computer is hooked up w / the trendy, and im glad that I did it like that , but I need my laptop to work w / the wireless... I hope someone could help me, I'm confused and need to repair...
