new cartridge do not align

Officejet 4630 e printer problem.

I had this printer for several years and have changed many times ink cartridges.  Today after installing a new cartridge HP XL 61, printing does not work correctly.  The first line prints ok, the 2nd line is only half printing (veritcally) and so on...

I ran the clean cartridges and align and scan and it still does not print correctly.

It prints very well until I changed the cartridges today.  I took out them and put back them in, computer unplugged and rebooted... everything that I can think of and it still does not work properly.

Suggestions please.  Thank you.

Hi @Amoscatand welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you are having problems with your alignment and print output. I would like to help!

I know you've covered some of these steps already, but I suggest to remove the cartridges and perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I also suggest this document:

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • New cartridge will not align

This seems a too simple question, but I have tried everything I can think of to solve the problem.  I replaced the black in my HP Photosmart C4680 cartridge, as I have done several times before.  The cartridge was a 60XL, as requested.  I have a Mac 10.6.8.  After replacing the cartridge, the printer goes to the phase "align cartridges", which begins with the impression of the page.   I have followed the instructions seven times, but do not get a black print (blue comes through and I get a "significant?) message in red with a red arrow curving down and a red triangle with an exclamation mark inside.  I don't know what that means).  I reinstalled the cartridge several times thinking maybe it was not correctly inserted.  I get no error message.  The ink check window shows a completely black ink cartridge.  I can't try to print anything because I can't do it in front of the window "align cartridges" on the printer.  I unplugged the system and started once.  Nothing changes.  Any suggestings?

    Hi sammyg2

Try cleaning the contacts of the cartridge in case there is some debris. If this does not work I would suggest contacting HP support by phone as you need a warranty replacement cartridge. First of all, you can check the warranty end date here

    Hope this helps

  • New black cartridge do not align

I have a HP laptop and my printer is a HP EnVY 4500 e-all-in-one-series.

I installed a new black cartridge Ref. HP61. The printer will scan, but the alignment fails. This is a new printer. I had an old HP printer that does the same thing. That's why I bought thinking it was the HP ENVY printer.

Thus, the new cartridge, new printer, same problem, will not align the scanned map.

    Hi @671,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that your new HP Envy 4500 printer is stuck on the alignment process. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand how frustrated you must try to get the printer working, I will help the best I can.

What looks like the alignment sheet?

    Missing colors?

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

    • Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges.
    • Load white letters unused, plain or paper of A4 format with a brightness level of at least 85 on the set.

If the problem persists, I would try the steps in this guide, an "alignment failed" Error Message is displayed on the control panel.

  • OfficeJet pro l7480 ink new cartridge does not work

    Hello world

the magenta cartridge from my all-in-one closed his ink, or so it seemed. Even though I replaced this cartridge (shaking he seems to have a lot of ink inside) with a new one, the officejet still tells me to replace the magenta cartridge because it is empty and the printer cannot print. I have always used hp original cartridges.

I'm looking for advice to solve the problem.

    Thank you very much.

    Max

Hi Max, thanks for getting back to me.

It is strange that the inks are behaving this way.  If you have already tried new cartridges, the best recommendation I can do would be to contact HP directly. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • New cartridge does not print

I put new ink photosmart 5520.  All except yellow fine print.  Yellow ink level indicates even than others.  I have cleaned the printhead, removed and replaced the cartridge, but it still won't print Yellow.

Hi, have you checked the area for evacuation on the yellow cartridge? If it is blocked, try to clear with a PIN or a paper clip.

  • Reference Dell v305 problem black cartridge not aligned

my printer dell 305 said all of a sudden the black cartridge is not aligned properly (otherwise it is said to remove the Strip). If I take the cartridge and reinsert it, I get the same message. If my printer is broken or do I have to just buy a new cartridge?

    scs822,

Do you use Dell Series 9 ink cartridges?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the brick of power for 60 seconds, this will reset the error messages that the printer. I would then plug everything back in.

    Turn on the printer.

Open the printer (power on) and remove the Dell Series 9 black cartridge and then reinstall it. I then remove the Dell Series 9 color cartridge and reinstall it. Now, close the printer, and it will print an alignment page.

    Error messages?

Print Cartridge black = Black (left) cartridge = color (right side)

photo cartridge = cartridge black (left side) = color (right side)

Dell Series 9 ink cartridges have a sensor to them that cannot be reset. Article on Dell ink cartridges filling.

Dell Series 9 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Wal-Mart or any Dell website.

It is possible to get an ink cartridge Dell Series 9 with a bad sensor. I would take these to the place of purchase for a replacement.

  • DeskJet 2132: Do not print with the new cartridge

I bought this printer only about a month. I've exhausted the original black ink cartridge, so I bought a new one (genuine HP 63XL).

I installed the new cartridge and the alignment page is printed, but only the parts of printing color, no black. I tried to print a test page, once again, not black. The ink level software shows that the new cartridge is full.

I tried to put back the cartridge several times and made sure the protective film is removed completelu.

I tried to remove the new cartridge to print mode single cartridge. The test page comes out fine; but, when I try to print a document in this way, the printer WILL NOT PRINT AT ALL. There is a little red light next to the black point near the power button.

    ARGHHHH.  Help, please...

    Hey @JaniBee ,

Yes I recommend you return the faulty new cartridge and replace it! If you buy the new cartridge and it fails well then let me know and we can look at the printer and excludes a faulty cartridge error.

  • new black cartridge does not work. I have no error message, simply, it does not print in black.

As noted above, the printer prints just black.  It is a new cartridge.  Not my first rodeo, I replaced the cartridge several times, so I don't know how to do it.  I get no error message.  When you check the ink level, he recorded as complete.    What is happening with this?

Hi, for the Olympic GAMES of 6500 try the procedure described in the link below...

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01641815

Otherwise, if the printer is out of warranty, one thing that might be worth a shot is to soak the printhead...

    (1) get a pan and put 1/2 "of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
    (2) remove all ink cartridges, then remove the print head Assembly.
    (3) gently put the printhead nozzles down in water and soak for 5 minutes.
    (4) remove the print head and gently dry the electrical contacts.
    (5) replace the print head in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.

  • OfficeJet Pro K850 - ink cartridge does not print

My K850 printer is not printing cyan. According to the Toolbox of the K850, cartridge series cyan was 75%, and the health of the print head has been fair. The cyan cartridge was beyond its expiration date I replaced it. The new cartridge does not better than the old cartridge print. Before I spend another $40.00 + did someone has something to suggest?

Although the cleaning of the print head has helped a little, it did not help, so I bought a new cyan print head. When I installed the new print head, the printer automatically aligned to the printhead and now cyan works very well. Unfortunately, the alignment process pointed out flaws in magenta and Yellow Printhead. Now everytime that I print anything the printer goes through a continuous systematic alignment printhead to try to correct the magenta and Yellow Printhead, waste of paper and ink, until I cancel all print jobs. New cleaning of the printheads and the contacts did not help. In the end, no matter what is the status of print head in the tool box, replacing the print heads is the only solution that worked.

  • Uneven printing with the new cartridge

I have a Color LaserJet 2605dn printer and have just replaced the magenta cartridge - previous leaked toner in the printer.

The new cartridge does not print evenly.  It is the color at the center of the page, gradually fading to almost nothing on both sides.  I printed several pages and gave the cartridge a series or shake well, nothing helps.  The other cartridges are more than half full and print perfectly.

This suggests a problem with the new cartridge?  Or is there anything else I can try?

    Thank you.

See attachment.  Not for the faint at heart.

  • Printer print printing printer will not align. Worked very well, put in new cartridges and now will not align.

My HPPhotosmart C5580 all-in-One worked very well.  Put in new cartridges and now she is not aligned.  Have you tried several maintenance task to get it to reset zero, etc, but nothing seems to work.  Help.

  • I need to print a new Page of alignment with each new cartridge?

I have to print a new alignment Page with each new cartridge I install on my HP Photosmart C4480?  Or can I save and reuse the original I got when first installing my printer cartridges?  The pages of the alignment, all seem to be the same when I print them with each new cartridge I install, but I'm not examine them under the microscope.

If I can save and reuse the alignment page with encourages the replacement of cartridge, when I'm following the procedure of installing a new cartridge and the printer ask me to print a new alignment page, is there an option to skip this step?  I don't remember seen this option in the Control Panel on the printer window.

    Thank you!

No, you can avoid printing the page by reusing the previous cartridge alignment page. Information on the freshly printed page includes the information needed to define the operating energy.

  • New black cartridge does not print - Photosmart 5510 all-in-One

I replaced all my ink cartridges when they ran.  The black cartridge is printing not and cannot even print alignment test page to align my new cartridges.  They are HP cartridges I bought and now after all cleaning procedures, I have now exhausted all new cartridges.  My warranty is exceeded, even if I have not received the new printer last Christmas, but my family he registered in August when they bought it for me.  I'm going to buy new cartridges, but I fear that I will lose more money that this problem will not be solved.  Someone help.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned print heads, tried to align the cartridges but error message appears then all new Board would be good.  Thank you

    Hello Cath,

I'm really sorry to hear about your Photosmart 5510 aligning properly and not printing in black ink. I understand that you have tried to align the printer and it has not solved the problem. I want to help you and make you my best to do it!

At this point, I do not pretend to try new cartridges (especially black) and trying to do the alignment again. I found a useful troubleshooting guide following which solves the problem, I hope.

Here's the guide I recommend following step by step:

A "alignment failed" Error Message appears on the printer

    * Tip - make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet.

Please do not hesitate to post your results here and I will help you further if necessary.

    Take care

  • HP 5510 will be not printed black before and after you installed the new cartridge. the specified controls did.

Photosmart HP 5510 will be not printed black before and after you installed the new cartridge.  The specified controls did.

Yes, I was referring to manually clean the print head. I see that the 5510 lacks the possibility of leaving the print head manually.

You can click on the menu of your SETUP program on your screen and go to TOOLS and clean the print head from there.

If this does not resolve your problem, you may need to replace the print head.
Contact HP Total Care (1800-474-6836), and if your unit is under warranty, its free.

Let me know if this can help, thank you.
