  after resizing the vDisk in CommandView (and in the meantime for him at the end of the expansion), rescan the vmhba in "Configuration"-> "Storage adapters" on your ESXi hosts and then open the properties of the data (on the ESXi server) store and increase/develop its site (i.e. extend VMFS partition).

  I've struggled for some time with this one, here's how I finally solved it.  Apparently, USB drivers for mass storage devices was not compatible with my external hard drive.  I simply uninstalled the USB drivers for mass storage devices, then plugged my hard drive.  Automatically downloading appropriate drivers, and I was good to go.

  It is part 2 of my first thread where I asked how to apply the temporary license for 60 days of ESXi.  I have registered and the license key.  A few people sent me the link on how, but I don't see the option to license being mentioned in this guide.  I pulled to the top of my vSphere client, connected to ESXi.  You click home under the Administration section, the only icon I see is roles and system logs

  You need to use the method in the link that has been validated license "standalone", not the vCenter one basis:

  To allow a standalone ESX or ESXi 4.x (vSphere Hypervisor):

  1. Connect to the ESX/ESXi host with vSphere Client.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. Click licensedfeatures of software.
  4. Click change in the appearance under the license tab.
  5. Select assign a new license key at this host.
  6. Press enter and enter the license key.
  7. Click OK.

• Need to reinstall windows, but does not have any CD - Satellite Pro L20

  Hi, I wanted to reinstall Windows XP home on my Satellite Pro L20, but do not have the software that my laptop came with (read the discs lost). I have a valid XP tone (like its stuck on the bottom of my laptop), but no disc so I tired using a copy of a cd of Windows XP home, which did not work, but let me go as far as the formatting of the hard drive.

  So now I use Ubuntu, but want to reinstall Windows. Have valid product key, but no software to reinstall.

  Any suggestions?

  Valid key will not help you. This key belongs to the image recovery and copy included WXP he.
  If you have two options. Either you order original Toshiba recovery image or use Microsoft installations CD key which belongs to this copy. For instances when I press F1 and F2 buttons my brightness will not upwards or downwards, I can't lock the touchpad more then now the cursour jumps around.
