  • Hot sync with Vista Home Premium 64-bit

How can I get my TXD to synchronize with my new laptop with Vista Home Premium 64 bit?  Is it possible?

Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

Your question is often asked and answered here on the forums.  There is no way to use a USB Hotsync connection with Vista 64-bit desktops.  Your solution is with Bluetooth, as described in this thread stickied near the top of this map.  You can also try a Wi - Fi connection.

Y at - it a patch? I have read many "Workaround" and none of them work. I tried to run in Windows XP compatibility mode and it didn't work.

    Hey tprefling,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

Right-click on the zt.exe file and choose "Run as Administrator" to launch the program.

See if you are able to play the game.

If this does not work, turn your computer to clean the start State and see if the fgame plays very well.

To put your computer in a clean boot, follow these steps:

Note: If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    1. sign the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OK and then click on restart.

For more information about the clean boot, see the link below:

In addition, change the size of virtual memory and see that helps. For more information, see:

  • Office 2003 Pro with Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Office seems to work very well on my new desktop Quad core i7, Vista Home Premium 64-bit - except when I try to access clip art in Powerpoint, or any help function - it simply blocks the request. Machine not crushed, but I have to END TASK - and I said this in Excel and Powerpoint three times each. But all the normal functions of work. What is the problem?

These links are useless - I already searched the corner OFFICE, and here, no one seems ready to post or admit that there could be a problem with VISTA at all. That's why I posted my question here, thinking that the problem is probably with the 64-bit version of Vista.

I have a system of 3 GB/500 GB HD in Inspiron 530 Dell, Vista Home Premium 32-bit.  I need to restart more frequently and the system works more slower and slower... so I think the upgrade.  Can I move to a 64 bit OS in Windows 7 or 8 and keep the same hardware and software, applications that I already like Office 2007, Photoshop Elements, etc... ?  What are the benefits to 64-bit?

    Hello

There is no way to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit.

It should be down with a clean install.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

  • Display problem of links 2003 with Vista Home Premium 64-bit

I just got a new office to replace my 6 1/2 years and am all migrant to the course. The new computer
CyberPowerPC is: Intel I7 3.07 ghz, 6 GB triple channel ram, dual 500 GB HDs and Sapphire ATI HD 4870 1 video.
I have migrated almost anything and almost everything works, including some games of the 1990s (original Unreal Tournament, etc.)
A game that is driving my crazy is Links 2003 (v1.05). When I run the game, on the start screen, it says "3D Graphics".
by ATI Radeon HD 4800 ". However, when I go into the graphics settings, the adapter box is empty. Using the drop down.
I select my ATI Radeon 4800 Series card.  I can get the error message: "your ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series is not responding.
Requirements minimum links. The software rendering engine will be used instead.  WHAT?  My old system uses an ATI X 1650
video card that is not 1/4th the graphic power of my new card and it works fine.  I tried the latest version of the video driver
from ATI (catalyst v9.6), which is what works on the old computer. I've also restored to v9.3, that does not work.
I know it must be possible to run Links 2003 on Vista, because it is running on my laptop HP DV - 9550 T lan party, which is also
Vista Home Premium SP2 running. The HP laptop with a Nvidia 8600 M GS video chipset, once again, no where near as
powerful that my new card 1 GB ATI HD 4870.  What is going on?  Is there a registry hack that I can do to force the Links 2003
to use my new card?  I contacted ATI/AMD and Sapphire, and they are both as baffled as I.  Help, please!

I found a resolution.  There was a patch for this game released last year, June 2008. It's

  • Trying to open the files Windows 3.1 with Vista Home Premium 32 bit

I am trying to open the files of an old computer running Windows 3.1. the files include MS Publisher, MS Works, encyclopedia Compton, & several other w/3.1 compatible programs. Y at - it a program or an update to Vista that can be used to open these files? What I try to open it & save programs on a version of Windows 3.1 & Vista before using on Vista? I can't open files from MS Office that have been made on a computer running Windows 98 or 2000. Any ideas?

Windows has many built-in features to make it as compatible as possible with older versions, but Windows 3.1 is really a little old! You can try to use Compatibility Mode, but it goes only up to what Windows 95.

To run an older program in Ccompatability Mode (as if your PC was using an older operating system):

    1. right click on the program and select 'properties '.

    2. go in the 'Compatibility' tab at the top.

    3. check the first check box and to set up the 'Windows 95 operating system "(which is as old as that).

    4. check all other settings for maximum compatibility (depending on the program that you try to use, some may not be necessary, but you should try each of them to be sure).

    5. click "OK" and try to run the program.

Note: If you want to try to do this at a program Office (and other Windows programs), this may not work. Please ask for more help with this.

Your files, you need to just find a compatible program to open with. Please tell us the types of files for more help with this.

  • My Dell Studio 17 (with Vista Home Premium) will not let me install anything... ?

Okay, so I recently bought a laptop... About two weeks ago now, I think that... It's a Dell Studio 17, and it runs on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. So far, I had a lot of problems to install programs on it. When I tried to install AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) it wouldn't download; I finally managed to do install via the start menu somehow...
BUT now LENS won't let me sign... but that's another story! lol - the real thing that worries me is not able to install games. I just bought the Sims 3 and after inserting the disc, choose a language and a count of the wizard InstallShield, once I have access to the license agreement page and click on 'I agree' and click 'Next' an error message pops up saying something about impossible to install. He has a huge long error code and I don't know what that means. At first, I thought there was something wrong with the drive, so I went back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. When I got home and tried to install it again, it's the same thing. Then I tried to install another game that I have (Zoo Tycoon - Zookeeper edition) just to see if any game would work... It's the same thing; before he actually started to install an error message came. The first error message said something to have an invalid character in some way... ? ! (no idea...) Then an other error message pops up something else I didn't really...
So, as you can see, there must be something wrong with my laptop. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE. I would appreciate advice...!

    Hello

Try to run the game as administrator installation program.

    1. open the content inside the game CD/DVD.
    2. right-click on the configuration file.
    3. Select 'Run as administrator'.

Alternatively, you can try to install Windows Installer 4.5 from the link:

  • When running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I disconnected and reconnected to my work programmes often... where calls interrupted

I had my internet provider here at least 10 times in the last 2 weeks. They see no problem.  I gave my computer to Microsoft, he ran and saw no problem.

But I still have questions!  Even online game (poker), you can see where it disconnects and reconnects repeatedly.

    Can any help...?

    Hi LoriBob,

    1. is the part of the computer from the domain?
    2. when the last time programs worked well?
    3. What is the type of internet connection you use?
    4. only happens to the programs or even disconnected Web sites?

If this only happens with online programs, it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is behind internet connection dropped.

I suggest that you do check and clean boot, if it works.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    1. click on Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    2. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.
    3. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

  • Problems w/Microsoft eHome keyboard keys on remote control on my Toshiba Qosmio X 305 - Q701 with Vista Home Premium 64-bit

Hello, I decided to trust someone w / helping me to improve the performance of the system by closing some services using msconfig, although I have some keys on my keyboard that interact w / drive DVD from Toshiba in my computer for generic commands; Play/Pause, Stop, etc to jump to chapter. These keys do not work anymore, I looked at my device manager, and the only thing I can think of that would have to do with these keys is the Microsoft eHome Remote control device keys on the keyboard. I looked at its properties and it says that this device is working properly. Already, I went into msconfig and reset booting the normal start, restarted and nothing has changed. Help please
