  Hello!

  Hello!

  On a Satellite 1110-Z20, the screen could suddenly become dark. Fumble to the display-white-button (the one key when you close it) will bring to life again. All the energy registers settings are set to 'off', always, the display is obscured sometimes.

  As the screen is good when it works (as bright enough and so on) I don't think it is the inverter, but I'm no expert on this ;-) I always thougt the inverter works or does not work, but not that it stops suddenly.

  On my old laptop Tecra, I had similar problem. From time to time the screen started to Flash. A day after that the sleep mode, the screen was completely dark. I've been able to is that there is a window open, but there was no background light.

  In my case, the screen has been replaced. Now I have new display and I am very happy. Now, there are a lot more shine and I can work better than before.
  Honest I'm not a technician, but I assume that, very soon, you can expect any malfunction of the display.

  It says nothing! You can hear the rotating disc because it s connected to the laptop and it s operated.

  The BIOS is important! Your new CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS?

  If not, then you have purchased NOT compatible CD/DVD player!

  I think that the master/slave/c-salt settings are not compatible with the laptop and so the CD/DVD drive may not be recognized.

  I have a Satellite 1110 and something has gone wrong with my DVD/CDRW and it will not read any CD. It is reported as a CARPET * A UJDA730 DVD/CDRW but the device status is shown as:

  The same thing happened to me, but it was my fault. My DVD-ROM can read just DVD-R. It is not possible to watch movies recorded on DVD + R. Please check if your DVD-ROM can read all formats.
