New HDD for system recovery DVD

My Pavilion dv4-1225dx Entertainment Notebook has experienced a hard drive crash.  I replaced the hard drive with a new WD Scorpio Blue 2.5-inch 500 GB SATA drive.  I got HP System Recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

I need to use my DELL desktop computer and use this is the DVD drive to copy DVD recovery system in a 16 GB Flash Drive from the lodge doesn't have a DVD player.  I'll be able to use the Flash drive to download the operating system Vista system recovery on a pavilion with a new hard drive?  I have HP doing something for the hard drive before the recovery can take place as the hard drive partition and add HP coding?

As a question, is possible to buy MS Windows 7 and load the operating system on the hard drive, I installed?

1. Yes, AFAIK to restore it without problem. You can make a recovery of the HP DVD bootable USB key, simply copy the files will not make the USB bootable, it needs to be. You can buy a usb DVD drive to use the HP DVD recovery

2. Yes, as long as you have a W7 product key. I recommend the upgrade, these are W7 drivers

You can buy new HARD drive in every store of the computer. What you need is 2.5 "SATA HDD.

  • System refuses to boot from HP System Recovery DVD, or any other bootable DVD...

Dv6915nr HP won't start upward from any bootable DVD, including all of the HP Recovery DVD system. It is not a problem boot from CD however. The trippy part, it does not start out of external optical drives with DVD either, only the CD. Please notify.

My idea is to copy all the files from my HP System Recovery DVD on an external hard drive and start over. Or I should rethink that?

    Thank you!

Yes, I just read a thread where you posted a few comments on this machine. Regarding the problems of DVD player, this seems to be common on the same machines that end up needing a new GPU ball so I tend to think that it has something to do with the mother/controller card. Previous DV series with Nvidia problem generally lost WiFi, later models have problems with CD/DVD player.

I didn't know mention you that your F11 to turn key to start hard drive partition recovery work?

  • Cloned new HDD for Pavilion 1210.uk does not start

I am new to the forum so Hi everyone.

I just installed a new HDD (SATA) to my office. BIOS identiified unit correctly and I cloned using HDClone software. He succeeded with 0 read and write errors. All files are accessed through drive letter access. So far so good, I thought. I then tried to boot from the disc again by changing the BIOS boot order. Hoewver, when the trunk begins with the new PC HARD drive crashes with a white/black screen with the cursor blinking in the upper left corner. It is the logo of Microsoft and o/s linen starts (XP).

    Some additional information:

    * Old HARD drive still boots without problem with or without the new drive.

    * I changed the transfer rate of 3.0 GB to 1.5 GB being the SATA 2 drive. That made no difference, then changed back.

I don't know what is wrong, someone has also experienced this or knows what is the problem?

    Thanks for reading.

The cloned system was not built with PATA and SATA drivers.  This could be the problem. You still get the blinking cursor?  You can send an email to technical support HDClone and ask of PATA, SATA problem of cloning.

  • Pavilion g6-2278dx: System Recovery dvd kit fails

My hard drive died and I was able to recover most of the images of the files before it failed completely. The patition of recovery was also damaged and I failed to make recovery disks. I installed a new and bigger hard drive and ordered the DVD and the game to restore disks, three DVD system and a DVD supplement. I insert the first DVD and go through the recovery process, browse each disc it copies the data from them. At the end it shows that it is install files or something like that, however, leaves on take off a few seconds, then the powers of the laptop. After reboot, I get a no os found error. Using another spare drive I can see that files, .swm, have been copied but not expanded, nor was it a windows or a recovery partition which worked. I contacted the support by chat and they said the need for fixed hard drive cable and ship it to them for $358 and they'll fix it. Idont buy which, as I am able to install and run the edition eval 8.1 without problem. I am sure that there is a problem with the DVD but can't find anyway to get a replacement set.

    Hello

I suggest to try the option described below - at the very least, it will confirm that this isn't a hardware problem, and if successful, will leave you with an activated installation of Windows 8.

Download the file to Image of Windows 8 on the following link - Note that this Image file is subject to a ceiling of download, you may need to try over a period of a few hours before the download starts correctly.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

If you instead create a flashdrive bootable for this Image, try the free app below.

    http://Rufus.AKEO.IE/

The product key for Windows 8 is encrypted in your bios chip and read automatically during installation.

Other software and drivers you need can be found here.

  • Need new HDD for Satellite A10

    Hello.

As my A10 satellite hard drive had a lot of problems lately, I bought a new drive. However, when I turn on the labtop, it freezes just on the screen "select boot device". I'm not still able to enter the BIOS. I can hear the disc upward rotation, but there is no reading of it.

The old drive was a 4200 RPM, 2 ATA-100 MB disk Toshiba while the new is a Seagate Momentus 5400.2 with 5400 RPM / MN and 8 MB cache. Anyone aware of the A10 is having problems with the new disks, or someone has a suggestion for what I should try?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

How have you tried to get into the BIOS?
Have you tried to install the OS on the new HARD drive?

I think that the laptop does not freeze, but the BIOS can not find a boot device.
You must insert the Toshiba Recovery CD and must try to boot from this CD.
If you cannot select the STRANGE as boot device in the BIOS you could simply press the C button immediately after you start the laptop.
This option allows booting from the CD/DVD drive.

  • New HDD for Dim 9200

After 6 years faithful my 250 GB HARD drive makes weird noises. Before take a complete dump, I want to install a new one. I have a bigger, only comparable HARD disk. Not sure if there is always a 250 GB there. What is the correct procedure to install a new drive HARD boot-able with Dell reinstall WinXP pro sp2 disk. I read somewhere that the new HARD disk must be the same size, cache etc. I don't want to purchase a full retail version of XP, it is a spare office that I still use.

    Dimension 9200 E6600 2.4 GHz 4 GB DDR2 sdram @ 533 MHZ 4x1Go
250 GB SATA II Samsung spinpoint drive HARD 8 MB cache 7200 RPM
Win XP Pro 32 bit OEM Dell

If you have the labeled Dell reinstall Windows XP Pro drive, you already have the full version of this OS and it is not necessary to buy a new.  Dell has a page of links that guide you toward the restoration of your operating system here: Restoring or reinstalling Windows on a Dell computer.  You must use the fourth step, manual reinstallation, for a blank hard drive.  For a lot of additional information, you can also check the paper by forum member natakuc4, install clean windows.

Restore a computer from scratch is a good thing for me, but it requires two to six hours to complete, depending on the number of requests and the amount of data, you need to restore.  Account, you may want to consider an application that allows you to clone your current drive to a new one.  Acronis True Image is one of those programs that must be purchased.  Depending on the brand of HDD, you buy, you may be able to download a free version of that or a similar, program.  Seagate and Western Digital have also a free version.  I am not sure about the features of the free version, but I know from experience that the commercial version of Acronis can adapt the present partition on your current hard drive to a larger partition on a new hard drive.  Cloning a disk usually requires less than 30 minutes, and the only thing you have to watch is to delete your old disk of the computer before you start the player cloned for the first time.  It avoids confusion on the drive letter assignment.  If you have a card reader, you must also disconnect it or turn it off in the configuration of the system before page starting in the new disk.

    Hello

I'm 99.9% sure that you can use this disk, but in my opinion you should spend it with HARD drive with more capacity. I think 200 or even 250 GB should work just fine with your laptop satellite.

I know that European Satellite A200 is supported up to 250 GB HDD.

  • Need new HDD for Satellite L300-1BD

    Hey,.

my laptop Toshiba Satellite HARD drive no longer works.
So I'm going to buy a new one today, but what one do need me? As the number of inches? And what is a SATA connection or something?

Could someone please tell me what I watch when I buy a new HARD drive for this laptop

    Hello Vivendi

One thing is strange for me: I guess your laptop L300 is fairly new and I do not understand why you want to buy a new HARD drive. Warranty is still valid?

Please check. If the warranty is still valid contact nearest authorized maintainer, and I am sure that you will get replacement free of charge.

If you want to buy it too, I assume you want to replace one. Then, remove the old HDD and on the white label, you will find all the necessary information on the HARD drive.
In any case, it takes 2.5 SATA HDD.
