Can someone explain to me how to re - install Windows 7?

You will need to use either the disc of Windows 7 from Microsoft or you are going to use the Toshiba recovery disc...
This Toshiba Recovery disk you created in the past?

I was wondering if you wonderful people out there can help me by answering my questions:

    1. is there a limit on the size of the HARD drive that my ' 4320 Pro can take, if there is a limit (for example, 10 GB) so can I upgrade the BIOS to allow for a more generous size (say 40-80 GB)?

    Hi Stu,

In response to your questions: -.

    1. most computers manufactured since the end of the 1990s can accommodate the larger discs, I found several supplies citing disks > 40 GB for your model. Any restrictions imposed by your BIOS could be corrected.

    2. remove the HARD drive is relatively simple and will generally involve nothing undo more than a few screws. Most hard disks are held in a caddy of some kinds and this will have to be transferred to your new drive. You must locate your current HARD drive (it must be under a Panel on the side or your laptop. Note that some models locate the HARD disk in the optical drive, so you may need to remove this first.

3 hard drives usually come in two sizes, 2.5 "and 3.5", this refers to the width of the player. the real depth is largely irrelevant, since it will be held in a caddy. You certainly should not wrap the reader with the foam.

    4. I replaced my drive HARD original with an 80 GB version. The process took less than 10 minutes, and then I just rebuilt my system from the product recovery discs before restoring my data on a backup CD.

  • How to install Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite L670D-102

    Hello

I tried to load Ubuntu 10.10 (tried the i386 and AMD64 platforms versions Desktop Edition) on a Satellite L670D-102 using a Live CD. The CD turns for a while, there is some activity on the hard drive and then I get a blinking white cursor (a hyphen) on a black screen. I left it overnight and it remained the same. I tried with "live" usb key and once again, no start. The CD and usb work in other machines running amd processors and intel.

The kind of questions that come to mind are:-
Is there a safety or other setting in the cmos memory which prevents the Windows loading anything?
Are Toshiba simply anti-Linux and I need a new machine?
Do I need a special bios to run Ubuntu?

Any help to resolve the issue would be welcome.

  • Need new HDD for my Satellite C855 1RL

My drive hard internal is not read and was told that I need a new. Where can I buy a new HDD for a Satellite C855 1RL, and what kind of money it costs. I have the recovery disks

    Thank you

You can buy new HARD drive in every store of the computer. What you need is 2.5 "SATA HDD.
In my opinion you should now reflect on the upgrade and buy SSD that will offer more performance and make your laptop run much faster than before.

  • How to change the Satellite L670D-103 using new SSD 80 GB HARD drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670D-103 with a 320 GB HARD drive running at 5400 RPM which is too slow for me.

So I plan to change this factory by a new SSD HDD to increase the performance of the overall system :)

But as the SSD are expensive, I have only a 80 GB SSD.

I built the recovery on a USB media and I want to use it to restore my system to the new SSD (I previously did the space needed to ensure that all data can be stored on my new SSD 80 GB space; p)

Retrieving SSD partitioning new procedure is done without error, but when copying image to restore data to freshly created the partition, one not enough space error stop the process!

It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb).

So, how can I restore mysystem on my new SSD?

    Thank you
    Stéphane.

    > It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb)

To my knowledge, you have different recovery options:

(* 1) * recovery of factory default software

    (a) recovery to out of box state
    (b) recovery without changing the HARD drive partitions
    (c) recovery of a custom size partition

    (* 2) * "erase the HARD drive.

I think that if you choose factory default software recovery of-> recovery to out of box state then the recovery would create exactly the same size of partition on the new SSD which were available on the 320 GB HARD drive.
I think this might be the reason why you have received this message.

Perhaps you need to choose the 3rd option Recovery on a custom size partition

    What do you think?

  • New update of hard disk for Satellite L670D-102

    Hello

I need to get windows 7 on my old hard drive and on my new hard drive update. I can't find "media copy" file/folder. I did a windows disc when I arrived as he forced me to do but only loads a 'safe' version of windows on the new hd and wonder for other discs.

Local dealer believes there are 3 back up discs to load up. I tried to save, but it takes more than 7 DVDs and still unfinished when I run out of time. Takes all day to do it. I tried an 'image system' through the windows and that works, but said that the new disk is the same size that the old image of disk system has been removed. Old drive 250 GB I think, new drive is 1 TB. Local dealer said try to reset the computer to the factory and see if "copy media" thread/folder reappears.

Someone at - it ideas please!

Message has been modified: the model name added to title

At first, I must say that you must tell us which model of laptop you have exactly.

In general the whole situation is pretty simple. Your laptop came with the version of the OS pre-installed (recovery image). Using preinstalled Toshiba media creator you recovery tool can create bootable recovery (DVD or USB) media that you can use for the installation of recovery.

After HDD just change boot image recovery this recovery media created facility.

To be honest I do not understand your ad and you wrote all this has created media.

  • 8 issues of the new owner of the Satellite Pro L300

    Hello to all forum users!

I bought a new Toshiba, the Satellite Pro L300 laptop and have until January 14 to test - if it looks like it is not working properly I will return it to the store where I bought it.

Here is a list of questions I have:

    1. whenever I turn on the laptop or it is suspension or hibernation mode, and when I disable it, the cd/dvd drive makes a clumsy mechanical noise.

It seems to me like the cart that transports the laser and optics is running in a mechanical stop.

    Is this normal?

    2. There is a hot sub-pixel on the screen (in blue) and according to the Toshiba info in the box, this is normal and does not return.

    Should I worry about this?

    3. when I run the test memory at the start of the system, she says she'll start windows automatically at the end of the trial and show me the results of the test.

It performs the test, Vista boot, but I see no reports of results.

Where can I find the report?
Is there a known issue with this test?

    4. the service program Toshiba to perform diagnostics of slot Vista does not work. Whenever I run the test (PCdiag.exe) I get an error message Vista saying a defect was found in the KERNEL32.dll module.

Where can I get a fix for this?
I have already installed the updated files on the Toshiba web site for the "Value Pack", which is where this utility, but still not the error message.

    5. I want access the settings of the bios at startup, but have not found a way to do it again.
F2 gives me a menu for memory test or normal boot system.
ESC is not me in bios Setup either.
There is a utility for bios Toshiba that I can run Vista, and I see that any upgrade bios firmware should also be done through Vista.

Is there a way to access bios at startup?

    6. I would like to run XP on this system and realized that this model (Pro L300 PSLB1E) is compatible XP, and I should be able to download all the drivers from Toshiba to run under XP.

    Does anyone do this?

    7. the laptop and configured Vista Basic when I did the first power on, but the license sticker on the bottom of the laptop has a product key for "Vista OEMAct Business." I was captivated by this laptop as the option to revert to XP Pro with Vista business. The box did not come with any CD or DVD and no manuals explaining how to install Vista Business.

This is reason enough to return the laptop in the store where I bought it, which is a chore, I prefer to avoid if I can install Vista Business.

Can someone help me understand what is happening here?

    8. is there a way to contact technical support by e-mail?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer all of these questions!

    Hello

Two weeks ago, I worked several days on friends Satellite Pro L300. Your questions are interesting and I will try to provide an answer or comment.

1 this is normal behavior. I noticed it on other models of computer laptop too. Right now I use Satellite P200D and I noticed the same thing.

    2. of course, you may have noticed a dead on the screen pixel and more on what you can read on
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB5400ZD0002R01.htm
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ8702EI0000R01.htm

    3. maybe follow links can help a better understanding:
    http://web1.Toshiba.ca/support/TechSupport/TSBs/all/-TSB001369.htm
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial146.html

    4. what to say about this? I t has not noticed this error and I can recommend just reinstall full VAP. Remove preinstalled system, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba download page.

    5. When you start the laptop downstairs you can find info how to enter the BIOS settings. It usually takes F2. I really don't understand what is wrong in your case, but must work F2. Press immediately after turning on your laptop. Press several times. You have to work

    6. If you can find the download page of drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba Windows XP Home edition, you should be able to install and configure Windows XP Home edition on this model of laptop. For the installation of Windows XP edition family please use Windows XP SP2 home edition.

    7. This must be clarified with your local dealer. The fact is that Toshiba doesn t offer any CD/DVD and recovery DVDs must be created by the owner of the laptop. I presume that you didn t seen or read Toshiba reminder about it. This point explains exactly what needs to be done.
The recovery media can be created using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator. The shortcut is placed on the desktop.

    8. I'm afraid, you must contact the hotline, but as far as I know Toshiba's toll-free hotline.
Call and ask if there is something you want to know.

    Good luck!

  • Disk drive not found in the Satellite P845T-102 (Code 19)

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite P845T-102 and the disk drive is not recognized by Windows (Windows 8). Does not appear in my computer, has no light and will not eject.

The drive is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-U633J.

This is the first time I tried to use it so I don't know if it was never acknowledged, or if a windows update caused a problem.

Troubleshooting it says my driver is up to date, and Manager of devices displays the following message is displayed:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

I have tried to uninstall the device in Device Manager and rebooting without success and have also tried to download the driver on the Toshiba site.

I would appreciate any advice to help solve this problem.

I'm having a problem in my laptop internal speaker system. No sound from internal speakers, but the sounds coming from the audio input jack. So, I tried to restore the system restore point that is known, but the system fails to restore at this time there.

    Please help me with this.

My laptop model is Satellite L650-102, part number: PSK1JE-0K800XAR

    Hey

    > So I tried to restore the system restore point that is known, but the system fails to restore at this time there.
And why does it fail? You get an error message or what is exactly happening?

Generally speaking, it of necessary to write an accurate description of the error. Something like it doesn't work or it fails isn't useful and could mean everything.

Have you ever tried a recovery facility?

  • Can I install new HDD on the Oem computer?

    Hello

Yes; under the rules of OEM, you can replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system on the same computer.

This is the information on the rules:

  • Make a new partition on the HDD of the Satellite a series

    Hi friends
I tried to divide my hard drive since the Panel---> computer---> storage management, but I found this:
My HARD drive divided 1-EISA configration 1.46 GB! (what is drive?)
2 - my C drive (which I want to divide)

When you try to shrink my C size available only for shrinkage is 44.8 GB (although my C is 186 GB!) & I found a note saying: "size of available shrink space can be only if the snapshot or license file ', so no soultions to my new drive more than 44.8 GB?

    Hello

Clichés or pagefile are shadow copies of Volume that allow previous versions of files to restore.
This feature allows users to navigate back to a previous version of a file that has been changed or deleted.
This feature has been added to Vista and it s a part of the restoration of the system. You may initially Windows XP operating system.

If you want to disable please see this page:
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/07/01/disable-and-turn-off-system-restore-shadow-copy-in-Windows-Vista/

But as far as I know, that Microsoft strongly recommends that you do not disable or delete the pagefile.

  • New HDD in my Satellite Pro M70 shows 55GO only

Well, I put in a new form of HDD Samsung in my Satellite Pro M70 model PSM75E. It has a size of 320 GB, but it s only showed like a 55 GB of hard drive.

    Hello

You must format the HARD drive to NTFS and should create a new partition.

  • Replacement of the HDD on the Satellite A60

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A60. The old 30 GB Toshiba HDD (MK3025GAS) died. I bought a 60 GB Toshiba HDD (MK602GAX) as a replacement.

My problem is that I can't get the bios to see the new drive and start with it. "For the old disk bios dead says under ' built in HDD = Primary IDE (1F0H/IRQ14). With the new HARD drive it says "built on the disk HARD = No. Drive'."

Using a cd, I installed Ubuntu on the new HARD drive. The ubuntu installation cd sees the new HARD drive and allows me to format it and install Ubuntu. When the installation is complete, and I try to start Ubuntu, nothing happens, and the menu of the Bios still displays "built on the disk HARD = No. Drive'."

If I run Ubuntu from a cd I can 'explorer' 60 GB HARD drive and see all the installed files of Ubuntu. I can't boot the PC from the HARD disk or just to get the BIOS to recognize his presence.

I'm a bit confused and don't know what to do. Ideas anyone?

For me, this looks like a compatibility issue. Unfortunately there is no public document where we can find info on all compatible disks.
To be honest I m really wondering why the new HARD drive is not recognized correctly. Problem, is that you can not force laptop recognize each RAM or HARD drive.

    What to do now?
I put t think some update of the BIOS will help so I m afraid you must get a new or another HDD and test if it works or not.
I presume that this 60 GB HARD disk was not new, right?

I have Satellite L40-12 X with 5400 RPM 120 GB HARD drive and I would like to buy a new HARD drive, but I wonder if 500 GB at 7200 RPM will be compatible with my laptop?

Below is the basic information, but I can't find more information about it. Polish same technical support is not able to give me the answer. So, I would like to ask if there is someone who has replaced the HARD drive in this book and what type of HARD drive I can buy?

    THX for your help
    Andrew

You will not be able to find answers to these questions and Toshiba doesn't offer the database page or support for certain models of laptops with a list of all compatible parts.

If your laptop's SATA HDD theoretically there should be no problem to use 500 GB HARD drive.
It is: so it must be exactly 500 GB?
