New HP 15-P151NR want to upgrade memory

Just bought a HP Pavilion 15, model 15-P151NR (HP website: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04490904 it came with a processor intel i5, but only 4 GB of memory.) I want to add more memory, but there is no specific memory port, and there only 1 DIMM, currently installed 4 GB of SDRAM DDR3L. Can I remove the back cover, remove the current memory module and replace it with a larger module? There was no mention in the documents on the modification of memory, or am I stuck with only 4 MB of memory?

Thanks for all suggestions.

Hello

Many HP 15 '' laptops now have only one RAM slot and change it is a nightmare and will void the warranty (except authorized service/dealers) too. Hope that your machine is not in that boat. Please consult the manual of second of the following link:

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&product=7485738&

Kind regards.

PS. Well, I read through the book, page #64 indicates that you cannot change RAM yourself, this will void the warranty.

  • Envy 15 ah150na: want to upgrade memory for laptop 15 ah150na

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade my memory of 8 GB to 16 GB. When I run SPeccy on my machine it says I can go to 16 and I have a free slot. In the manual it says my memory is expandable to 16 GB.

However, when I rang Mr. memory, as my model does not have on their website, they told me I had only a slit and Speccy is often wrong on this issue.

I also checked on Everest that says I have two slots with one available. When I told Mr. memory Advisor they said they would change the model on their system to say that it has two slots...

    Now I'm Confused.com

Anyone know if I can update or not? And my motherboard support 16 GB?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

I understand that you want to know if your computer supports 16 GB of memory.  According to HP ENVY Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide of m6 , you have two slots and it will support up to 16 GB.  Please note page 1, Chapter 1, memory. You have two memory off-limits/extendable module slots.  If you are in warranty, you need to have a certified technician RESUME will do the upgrade to do not void the warranty.  If you do not guarantee a local store can do the upgrade or you can make the update yourself if you feel comfortable, but it would be at your peril.

See also Chapter 3, page 16, section 13 for recommended memory.

I hope that this is clear to the top and confusion for you.

  • Upgrade memory of satellite L20-181

    Hey all

I want to upgrade memory on my Toshiba Satellite L20-181.
Now I have 256 MB and I want to add another stick of memory to 256 MB.
Could you please inform me about the type of memory has this laptop?
On the site it is said:
    Standard system memory: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM

    DDR2?
A link with such a memory would be very useful.
Also, anyway to buy memory online?

    Best regards

    Hello

The news that you are quite right. Toshiba has tested this laptop with the memory modules to follow:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)

As you can see it's memory module DDR2 and if you use the part (PA.) to the Google number, you will find many online offereor where you can order this tested memory. I recommend buying the original or perhaps module of Kingston. On this way, you will be sure that the new module will be recognized correctly.

    Good luck!

Well, I think that it s is not possible.

  • Re: upgrade memory Satellite M70-159

I have the Satellite m70-159 with 512 RAM and you want to upgrade memory.
Is ddr2 sdram so-dimm PC5300, 667 Mhz kingston 1 G memory compatible with my laptop?
I know that this memory will run as PC4200, but I don't know where to buy PC4200.
    Thank you.

The Satellite M70 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM.

The Kingston RAM must be compatible with your laptop because Kingston's high-quality RAM and many users here upgraded with modules from Kingston.
And as you say that the RAM will work as long as PC4200, it is not a problem.

  • Re: upgrading memory

    Hello

I am former owner Satellite A110-228 and you want to upgrade memory. So, my questions are

    1. What is the maximum memory upgrade can I do?
    2 What brands are good?

    Thank you

    Hello

    According to [specifications A110-228: 17742 http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1 & DISC_MODEL = 1]

    standard: 512 MB
    maximum extension: 4 096 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)

You can spend up to 4 MB of DDr2. Good brands are Kingston, Corsair, Hynix. But I recommend you to get Kingston :)

    Ciao, Fabio:

Here is the link for the memory upgrade info you need for your PC.

I would get the PC2-5300 (667 MHz) for optimal performance.

Here is the link to the guide of upgrade and maintenance for the Slimline 3000 series. If all goes well, that will contain the information that you need to access the memory locations.

  • Problems upgrade memory ThinkPad Yoga 11th 20 d 9

I recently bought a 20 d model 9 11th Yoga and so far I'm in love.  However, I wanted to upgrade memory 4 GB to 8 GB.  I bought 8 GB Crucial single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) as all the reviews I read said it was OK to use, however, every time I install the memory, and I try to charge the laptop at the same time it crashes.  I can run windows 10 perfectly without a problem until I have try to load it.  I can load cell ther when the laptop is turned off, but for the life of me I can not do coexist.  The original of the ram, I installed and everything works perfectly.

Even if I'm in the bios, as soon as I plug the charger that will crash the laptop.  There literally rips on the screen and everything vanished.  As soon as I unplug it, the laptop works perfectly.

I went back the memory and got a replacement and it does exactly the same thing.  I've updated the BIOS and the firmware for the battery.  I'm out of ideas.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally found one that works:

So far no problem, I can plug into a fine, and the system shows 8 GB.

    non - ecc, unbuffered.

Please comment if this G.Skill memory is too fast for this laptop, for example. "not compatible".

rather than ask for lenovo or crucial, why not ask of intel chips that manufacturers the inputs/outputs of the memory controller.

    http://www.Intel.com/design/chipsets/embedded/prodbrf/319505.PDF

It clearly says DDR2 667/800.  Don't be confused that she also mentioned ddr3 support, lenovo only installed on your motherboard ddr2 Sockets, but the GM45 chip can support both.
