New installation CD-ROM/DVD-rom on Satellite 4030

I replaced the cd rom on my 4030CDT with a generic DVD/Cd-RW (it's a TSST) and I am running XP (a little).
The DVD works fine in windows, but I can't boot from the CD more as the machine does not seem to recognize the DVD/cd rom when starting.

Can anyone suggest how I can get the machine to recognize before loading windows.
I want to switch to xubuntu and have the disc but can not start. I guess I could replace the old cd rom but this is a last resort.

Thanks for any help.
Mike

It's really strange and amazing.
I wonder why the Windows operating system recognizes the drive CD/DVD, but not the BIOS?  :|

Or maybe the BIOS recognizes the drive CD/DVD correctly, but the recovery CD is not fully compatible with the new inserted CD/DVD player?
That s is also possible!

Please go to BIOS and check if the CD/DVD drive is displayed correctly.
If the device was already recognized, the question might be related not compatible way

  • Problem with the new installation of Windows XP on the Satellite A100-259

    Hi all!

I have a problem with the fresh install WIN XP on Satellite A100-259 (PSAA2E).
I already deleted the partition, formatted (NTFS) and tried to reinstall from recovery disk that initially provided with the laptop. But whenever I try to install a problem is detected (for the most part it's 'page in the nonpaged area failure').

I also tried to install the OS directly from MS Windows XP Home Edition SP2 CD - the same problem.
I checked the partition using PQ Magic and discovered that there are ' partition table error #110 ".» So, what I did:

    (1) delete partition-> create new partition-> format (NTFS)-> reinstall from recovery disk-> has not yet;
    (2) partition delete-> install WinXP CD original by create and format partition option-> has not yet;
    (3) delete the partition (using the magic of pq)-> create partition (using the magic of pq)-> format NTFS partition for win xp option-> check partition-OK no problems don't-> installation of original win XP CD-installation without changes-> option failed even once
    (4) delete the partition (pq magic)-> create partition (pq magic)-> format NTFS partition for win xp option-> check partition-OK, no problem-> installation of the recovery disc-> has not yet

Whenever a different error is detected, so I can't identify the problem. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

Seems that there are some problems with the standards of the partitions.
A friend of mine has tried to install the OS on the recovery CD on the laptop that has been formatted with Partitions Magic 8 and the installation failed.
    It was very strange

Finally, we have formatted the whole HARD drive using the CD original Windows XP Pro.
We did not remove the partition but simply kicked this CD and after the configuration process spent, we formatted the whole HARD disk and install XP without creating all the partitions.

  • New installation Windows 8 DVD to USB

Recently I bought a new full version of Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit CD and the product key) to my new computer, but it doesn't have an optical drive (can not read the CD).  I am currently borrow a laptop under Windows (optical drive and USB port), the new copy of Windows 8, a flash of 8 GB and a new computer disk (USB port but no optical drive).

A significant difference between what I'm doing and other guides preventing unchanged Windows on this laptop.  If possible, could someone help me get a way step by step of loading the boot of boot to the flash drive, so that I could then use the flash player and then start my copy of Windows 8 on my new computer via a USB port?  Remember, I don't want to download Windows on the laptop if I do not need.

Thanks for any help, and I'm sorry if the answer was obvious, but the computers tend to confuse me.

    Hello

One bit of information that is required is that the machine on which you install Win 8 using UEFI BIOS or not... This is a very large difference in the way the flash player is done...

You might also need a program to convert an ISO Image of DVD if the machine doing this has not already something...

Another option that may allow you to avoid using the borrowed machine and eventually need to install something, would be to download a Win 8 ISO and use your key... Discover the first reply on this thread...

Unfortunately, a small program of Microsoft is required to do this as well, but it does not install... it works simply and can be removed...

  • DVD Rom in a Satellite 4030 CD drive?

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 4030 CD. I would like to know if I am able to install a dvd rom drive in this laptop. If so what models would take on this machine.

    Thank you

    Hi Breck,

in my opinion there is no way to upgrade the internal CD on a DVD player because the CD player is set up and could only be replaced with the same model!

Only an external USB or PCMCIA solution would fit!

I have an A50-432 and the HARD drive has failed. I was able to install the DVD of recovery on the old HARD drive using the Q: drive prompt. But when the new HARD drive is installed it does not recognize the new HARD drive as a destination.

How can I install a new HARD drive recovery DVD?

    Hello!

Have you checked the BIOS if the new HARD drive is recognized properly?
Maybe the new drive HARD isn t working properly and if the BIOS doesn't recognize it. Then you are also not able to install the disc of recovery on this subject.

Normally, you only have to boot from the recovery disc and follow the instructions on the screen. All that s.

  • New installation OS on Equium A100

    Hello world

I'm new to this forum, so I'll appreciate all the help I can get.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 02L, model PSAAQE-00P00KAV, with operating system Vista Home Premium 32 bit since July 2007. In October 2007, I performed an upgrade to Adobe Reader and things started to go wrong.
I did a reinstall of my recovery DVDs, and things are almost back to normal. The pc stopped recognizing my web cam and I had to buy a new, but above all it worked well. The mistake I made when you reinstall - I changed 2 partitions-2 physical hard drives into one. However, over time that my laptop has started to hurt behave again, especially after what he installed vista pack 2, including not having the audio drivers or see a multimedia disk of a sony-ericsson phone, I bought a few weeks ago.

So, I decided to reinstall once again, hoping to fix all the wrongs. I've done this procedure a couple of times, although I'm not a very technical person. I started the pc with the drive, I pressed F12 and select reboot from cd/dvd, but he didn't perform the clean installation, I expected, just something a repair, I think. The screen where you choose the partitions came not upward, and one where you put your Vista key and it took about 45 minutes to do all that.

So I tried again, hoping that this time it will work. Cannot do and after the third time he went into ms - back like screen, telling me that windows has not to load, a step which gave unfortunately I did not write down and said there is a corrupted core. I was very upset, as you can imagine, so I left it alone for a few hours, then I tried to restart the computer again. Fortunately, this time he started windows, but there are always pieces that does not meet the standards. So, I was hoping that maybe someone can give me some advice on how to do a clean install and repartition my HARD drive.

I tried to look on the Web site for support, but I can't find my model, there is only an A100-027, even when I tried the model No, it was not me with the auto detect software.

I know this is a very long story, but I hope that the details will help. Really looking forward for your help.
    Micky.

You mean on the Toshiba Recovery DVD or disk Microsoft Vista and the new installation?

Using the Toshiba recovery disc will not ask you to choose the partition, nor to put keys series! The image of Toshiba which is placed on the Toshiba Recovery disk is already enabled and the serial number; key is not required!

Generally, the use of the recovery disk should format the HARD drive and you could reinstall the whole OS again maybe there is something wrong with the HARD drive may be
I think this should be verified

  • The player display DVD Toshiba C855D satellite ceased suddenly display

Please help as its now beyond me. The DVD player has suddenly just stopped. I can hear it and control it but can't see it. I checked the button display but its all ok.

    Help

Sorry, but your applicant is very confusing
I have no idea what you changed in the settings of the DVD from Toshiba player in the past, but I think the simplest solution would be the new installation of a utility DVD Toshiba drive.

Usually you can download page of the Toshiba UE driver Toshiba DVD player
Before installing this software, I recommend to uninstall the installed Toshiba DVD player.
    Reboot the laptop.
Download the tool on the Toshiba site and start the installation.
Finally, restart the laptop and test functionality.

  • Looking for DVD recover my Satellite P200

    Hello

I am looking for a DVD reinstall my Satellite P200 - 12 K (preferably in french)
    Thank you for your help.

    Philippe

    Hello Philip

It might be problematic for you to find the original Vista recovery disc for this older model laptop.
I'm also sure that you will not be able to order it too so my advice to you is to install the clean version of Win7 32-bit by using the original installation disc for Microsoft.

I had long ago P200D and I used it with Win7. I found all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/dow...ivers_bios.jsp

  • Question about DVD drive on Satellite Pro A200 PSAE7

Although the [Specification | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/productPage.do?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=131911] told my Sat - Pro A200 (PSAE7) comes with a drive DVD Toshiba, it is * NOT * installed in my machine. I tried to download what is called "dvdpl-20070807102909" (what is the program?) download from Toshiba site, but when I double-click on the "setup.exe" inside the application, Windows Vista says 'cannot install this application.

I also watched inside the recovery disc that comes with the laptop, but nothing obvious to click to install the drive appears.

Please what could someone help and tell me how to install this DVD player?

    It s a bit strange
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find the Toshiba DVD player software.
It s version 1.10.06 DVD player
So I assume it must be preinstalled on the Toshiba laptop.

The restore CD that came with the laptop contains an image of Toshiba. This image should support Windows OS, all Toshiba driver, utility and software tools extra.
Please insert the recovery CD into the CD/DVD drive and boot from this CD.

This procedure will format the whole HARD drive and install the operating system again on the laptop.
After a new installation, please check if the Toshiba DVD player is available!

    Hello

If you have an XP disk and license, you can go back to XP

If you have not an XP license try to buy one at a computer repair shop

you boot from the XP disc and format in this way:

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order
