New Installation of Windows 7 - backup fails.

I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my PC (New Installation) and everything went very well.

I have now managed to create a System Image and a system repair disc.

Now, I want to make a Back Up system, but when I click on the Set Up Back Up link I get the following error

"The demand for backup could not start due to an internal error:

Windows has encountered an internal error. Check your Back Up settings "
(0 x 81000027)

I wasn't expecting this on a new install, until I do now?

Ian.

Just informing someone else who might have a problem that the above solution worked for me and I am now able to access the back of the similar and a restore utility, thanks to Microsoft and others for their help.

Ian.

This is a computer that I use every day and who usually has a hard drive with WindowsXP SP3. I just want to have a spare hard drive with a new installation of Windows XP on it.

But installation can not. Usually to auto restart after step 'Copy files' of the installation process. The Windows splash screen appears briefly, and then blue screen message, "a problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"followed a few Advisory paragraph which does not apply because the operating system is not yet loaded, then:" technical information: * STOP: (0x8951c900) 0xc0000185 0x00000000 0x00000000. Another time, after you press enter in the "WindowsXP installation on the selected element", I INSTANTLY got a screen which read; «An error has occurred during installation has been updated of the partition information on 152626 MB disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR].» Setup cannot continue. »

Things, that I already tried that did not work:

Using two different Windows XP Professional installation disks.

Withdrawal and tries to install with different RAM sticks in place.

Two IDE 40 son different cables, which work fine on this computer.

Two different Western Digital disks hard two test without error using the WD diagnostic utility.

My knowledge is limited, but that seems to leave only a bad card mother, right?  However, as I say, the computer works well with this old install Windows XP on it. He simply refuses to let me do a new installation on another hard drive.

What other steps can I take to get a new installation on a hard drive with this computer?

Thanks to each of you for your attention to my problem.

I spent $4 on a 80 wire cable IDE (to replace the 40-wire cable I used) and I was finally able to get Windows XP installed today.

Because I had done installations in the past with the 40 wire cable, I don't understand why it didn't work anymore. I guess the age of the cable, but I actually had multiple failures with a whole new thread 40 I had just bought. A mystery, but at least I now have a new facility and I am inclined to believe the 80 wire will make for a faster computer.

  • New installation on windows 7 pro 64-bit sees not connected wired Officejet 6500 E710a-f

    Hello!

New installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a gigahertz 3.40 AMD Phenom II X 4 965 with 8 GB of ram. Printer drivers worked on the same bench while he was running as Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
After only install FF, AVG, and Acrobat (almost a clean install), downloaded the software HP Officejet full feature and pilot 2012-10-22, Version: 116,98, 28.8 M - OJ6500_E710n - z_1315.exe and tried to install the Officejet 6500 E710a f.

The printer has a manually set static IP and can be ping from the host. Clean Windows Firewall is disabled and stopped.

The web interface using the IP address of the printer comes with all the features works on FF.
Network status shows connected with IP address, hostname and Mac.

However, when installing the network audit is no ethernet connection. Even manually enter his public static IP address or hostname does not solve the problem.

Try the USB, the same question option. I see in Device Manager under other devices HPOfficejet 6500 and 6500 HPOfficejet - Fax with a blue questionmark.
(In the same "other devices" there are 2 Officejet 6500 with a yellow exclamation point - probably from failed network installation).

In the printers and devices window, the 6500 is displayed with the correct thumbnail, but with a yellow exclamation point icon. Law and by selecting the convenience store, Windows comes up with the message that no driver is installed and offers a solution.  The correction ends with the error that no drivers not found for the FAX. Re-apply the patch never finds the driver.

Anyone who has met something similar (and a solution)?

    Thanks for any help!

After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
Back at each stage, I noticed that I was not using the correct driver! For some reason I D/L the pilot E710n which is for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus e-All-in-One.
Whatever the difference, when installing the E710n for the model does not detect the printer, or via USB or Ethernet.
After you download the right driver for the E710a - f HP Officejet 6500 a e-All-in-One Printer (OJ6500_E710a - f_1315.exe) installation perfectly finished in a few minutes and everything goes well...

You would think, base or USB connectivity network should not be dependent on the specific differences sub-model. I was expecting that a bad driver interrogate the device after finding its IP address and display an error message with useful text.

You understand that you will not be able to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 7?  He will have to do a clean install.

The Council supports Windows 7, you can get the drivers here (the chipset drivers should be the first drivers you install after installing the operating system.)

  • How to perform a new installation of window 8.1?

    Hello

(If this is important), I use an Alienware X 51 R2 with the following specifications:

    Intel i5 4440U 3.3 GHz processor

    AMD R9 270 2 GB

    8 GB RAM

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

Basically, my alienware has had many recent accidents before I made my own window installation 8.1 via the USB port. I thought it will run more fast and smoother after I have done, but here are a few problems:

1 secure Boot product still "no error of Boot Drives Found" as soon as I turn on the computer. So I have to disable Secure Boot.

2 application opening time is still as slow as before the clean install (i.e. Chrome)

So, is there a procedure step by step on how to perform a new installation of window 8.1? I want this PC to match at the beginning when I first bought.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Try to reinstall Windows and configure the account again, and after reaching the office, create a backup account.

In addition, for security reasons, enable the administrator account.

    Reinstall Windows 7:

Using the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7

    Step 1

Restart the ThinkCentre and repeatedly press the "F11" key like start the computer to the top.

    Step 2

Watch a message on reboot telling you press F11 to access the product recovery program. Quickly, press the "F11" key when you see the message. If you do not see the message, you do not have a recovery partition on your hard drive and must instead use recovery discs. Once you enter the recovery mode, either by pressing 'F11' or booting from a recovery disk, the ThinkCentre shows main recovery screen.

    Step 3

Follow the prompts to choose your recovery options. Use the settings by default unless you want to customize the recovery. You can choose options such as full recovery ',' "Content factory" or "Restore my hard drive to the original state of the plant," according to the particular ThinkCentre model.

    Step 4

Insert new disks when you are prompted if you restore DVDs.

    Step 5

Click 'Yes' when prompted to restart the computer. From this point, the recovery process is completely automatic. Your computer restarts several times, and the whole process takes sseveral minutes or more. Once installation is complete, Windows displays the configuration for a new user screen, as if the computer comes out of the box.

    Step 6

Complete the installation of Windows by entering in your language, regional settings, network settings and the Windows user name. You may also enter your Windows product key, which is on the DVD provided with the system, or on a sticker on the computer.

  • Logical disk partition not recognized in the New Installation of Windows

Hello.  I would appreciate someone to give me any advice.  I don't know if the problem I encounter is an oversight on my part, but it was not something that I anticipated.

To give a bit of background, until last week, I was running a Windows 7 system on my computer which included three hard drives (4 TB, 2 TB, and a smaller disk).  The 4 TB drive included my boot drive with Windows on a partition of 2 TB and then the unallocated space has been transformed into a new partition in disk management, received the drive letter G and was used for long term backup of data.

Since then, I built a new computer and installed a new version of Windows 7 on a small SSD.  During this process, I have not all disks connected to the machine (except the DVD player) so that there is no possibility of installation of Windows, do something for these readers I didn't (I got burned by this time long ago when you reinstall Windows 95, which makes me just feel old).  After the whole installation process was performed and the new version of Windows has been working well, I opened the machine and plugged the drive 4 TB and 2 TB, assuming that Windows did not recognize them when I started.

When I started in Windows, Windows does indeed recognize the two drives and assign drive letters.  But in the case of the car of 4 TB, he acknowledges that the partition containing my old boot drive.  No drive letter is assigned to the secondary partition.  When I go to disk management, it shows all of the remaining spaces as unallocated space, but seems not yet quite recognize space completely in the way he would if I'd created directly.  For example, if I right click in that box, I don't get the normal options to create a new Simple Volume.  Everything on this menu is grayed out except properties and help.

So I guess I have two questions.  (Leaving aside the possibility of a hardware problem), was I wrong to assume that a hard drive divided into two partitions could be transferred from a Windows machine to another?  I honestly thought that no matter where no matter what Windows 7 machine would recognize the two drives, but maybe I'm missing something fundamental.

Two and more important still, there advice for access to the data on this drive?

    Hello

A problem that could happen is that the disk partition has security setting so that the profile of the user that created it would be able to access it, and seeing that you are trying to access from a new profile may not not allow you to access

To access these files, you can try to boot from the old hard drive manually to change the setting of the partition or simply manually move the files and delete the partition.

To start from the old disk hard restart have the hard drive is plugged in, restart the computer and while it is booting F12 key to select the boot device, after that, select the old hard disk and access them normally.

    hope this has helped.
