new live bookmarks to save to Favorites bar after upgrade to 40.0.0

I upgraded to 40.0.0 today. I found a site with an RSS feed I wanted to follow. I keep my RSS streams in folders on my bookmarks bar. I tried to load it into the appropriate folder, but it loaded to the toolbar itself. The flow has shown new entries. I tried to move it to the appropriate folder and he ceased to list all entries RSS. I tried again to save the new stream to the appropriate folder. This time, he was not on the bookmarks bar, but it does not appear in the folder I told to load. I went to 39.0.3 and it works correctly. I use the LiveClick addon, if that helps. I write using 39.0.3. All other extensions are what were in use under 40.0.0

You can recharge the streams via the context menu?

Have you tried to quit (quit) and restart Firefox after you move the food?

  • Favorites missing after upgrade to PT 8.53.23

Favorite with add and edit Favorites favorites are no longer visible after an upgrade of PT 8.52.06 PT 8.53.23 in our CRM 9.1 DEV environment. Under the Structure and content for the two favorites add and change references to favorite content, permission lists appear. Sync Collection security and security of site synchronization process were executed to success. If I add the role of the administrator of the portal my user profile, favorites are all here. We cannot add this role to all users. What Miss me?

Please check the security on the folder 'My Favorites '.

See-> E - SEC: What permissions are necessary to grant "My Favorites"? (Doc ID 664987.1)

The 'My Favorites' menu link is a file and not a page or an ARB.  Security cannot be granted to a whitelist so that it can automatically view the 'My Favorites' folder in the left menu.  The delivered permission related to the 'My Favorites' folder list is PTPT1000.  If the granting of permissions to users this list gives too much access, a list of custom permission to provide this access.

To grant access to Favorites Add and change the links under 'My Favorites' do the following:

    1. the list of custom permission must grant full access to the PORTAL_ADMIN menu Security page PORTAL_EDIT_FAV and hardware PORTAL_ADD_FAV.

    2. go to PeopleTools-> Portal-> Structure and content-> hidden tools.  In this case, there will be two Csrsfi: 'Add to Favorites' and ' change favorite.  In these two, make sure the custom permission list shows under the tab 'security '.  It should be here, because access was given through the permissions list.

    3. navigate to PeopleTools-> Portal-> Structure and content.  Click on 'Edit' on the record 'My Favorites '.  Look at the Security tab and make sure that the custom permission list shows here.  If it is not the case, you must manually add the list of permissions.

The folder 'My Favorites' must always be manually updated and running synchronization of security portal will not grant this access.  Another option is to make the 'My Favorites' folder 'Public' so that all users can see this folder, and security settings are not required for the folder.

Hello Tom, can you try to remove the addon of passwords do not forget (it is now more necessary, since firefox now ignore the autocomplete = off parameter in the default password fields), restart the browser and see if that makes a difference?

  • How to get the Favorites lost after a reset?

I did a factory reset on my laptop and all my files backed up on an external hard drive, but I forgot to save my favorites. After that I gave my computer to its factory and loaded settings near the top of Mozilla Firefox, I realized that all my favorites have disappeared. What can I do to get back them? How can I get back them easily? Is there a trick? A program to use?

Thanks for the responses, but none of them were useful. I said that I did a factory reset which causes a bookmark restoration dates be reset.

Here is what fixed my problem:

    1. Download, install and run a program of recovery as EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard file and do a full scan of your hard disk (c :))
    2. Locate a backup of the file "Places.sqlite" (the file that contains the entire library of bookmarks)
    3. Retrieve and save this file on a flash drive
    4. Go to: computer (c) > users > yourname > AppData > Roaming > Mozilla > Firefox > profiles - there must be a visible profile folder (example: x00000.default)
    5. Go to the profile folder and delete all files with "places.sqlite" in the name of the file (should be 1-3 files).
    6. Insert the backup that you saved "places.sqlite" in the profile folder
    7. Start Mozilla Firefox, and then press Ctrl + Shift + B.

There is no real problem with that solution for others try. If something does not work, it is because the instructions were not followed properly, or there is simply no bookmarks backup file to recover. What you need is saved in the file "places.sqlite" Mozilla read it when starting the browser and automatically reveal all bookmarks that were supported on this file at the time the backup was created, if its crucial you retrieve this file.

I hope this helps others, because I had to find this solution on my own.

  • After upgrading to Firefox 6 order of bookmarks to organize is missing, how can I get that back?

In the old version of Firefox, there is a way to move and organize bookmarks by clicking on the link "Organize bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu.

The name of the Bookmarks 'Organize bookmarks' menu item changed in Firefox 4 and especially to "show all bookmarks". For more information, see create bookmarks to save your favorite Web pages .

  • I wasn't to save My Favorites tab bookmark instead of bookmarks unsorted by default. What should do?

Currently all my favorites are saved in default bu unsorted bookmarks. I want to save My Favorites tab default bookmark (as in google chrome). what needs to be done?

Click on the star button adds a bookmark in the bookmarks unordered, as you say. By clicking on the new button, however, will open a panel that allows you to edit the bookmark. In this regard, you can select the folder of bookmarks that you want to move the new bookmark.

If you still want to do this, simply double-click on the button.

  • What is a 'live' bookmark, and how can I be sure that none of my favorites are online?

I'm trying to reduce the automatic Firefox on the voluminous Internet communication (see previous thread at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968773#question-reply for background). As far as I know, I have not subscribed to any news feeds, or click "subscribe to this page."

One thing I don't understand is how to tell if one of my favorites is 'live', or if none of the sites I visit normally automatically refresh their pages open on my browser. I can't find any on the Mozilla Support entries that explain even is as a "live bookmark

    Can someone please:

    (1) define a "live bookmark."

    (2) say how to identify one in my bookmarks sidebar (or).

    (3) say how to change any 'live bookmark' in and a regular bookmark (dead), and

    (4) tell me how to prevent pages Web open automatically updated on my browser? (Internet Explorer used to have options for when you have to refresh a page, including "never.")

I am running Firefox under Windows XP SP3 24.0. Thanks in advance! -JCW2

See the article How to stop Firefox to make automatic connections .

Live bookmarks, are not enabled by default, unless you enable them (the item will still show).

  • Folders of bookmarks in Safari in the Favorites bar not open click when you access one after another

Question: The records of Safari bookmarks in the bookmarks bar not open click when you access one after another

    Diagnostic steps:

    (1) create 2 or more folders in the bookmarks with the individual sites in their breast.  (Examples of folder name: career, finances and health)

    (2) safari > display > display favorite bar. All the Favorites should be visible in the main window of Safari with all these files

    3) click on the folder named career and then go directly to Finance. (the record finance should open with a single click)

    (4) or try to open the folder of health directly after clicking on career record. The health record is expected to open in one click. This does not currently happen

Currently, 2 click are required to open a folder in the Favorites bar. To activate the button and the second displays the Web sites it contains.

It is annoying and seems as if the browser is obsolete.

If opening cursor hover is not what apple wants for these records, we are fine with it. But the least we should do, it's that these files opens in one click.

    Thank you.

Send feedback to Apple. They will not respond, but at least know that there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it can become the problem solved as soon as possible.

  • Get rid of the new Favorites bar

How to disable or get rid of this favorite bar that appears on the left side of Safari?  Support cat was unable to provide a response and I want it really gone.  I would be grateful to my favorites not being is not in my face of comments when they use my computer or mine, whenever I Browse.  I can drag with the mouse, but it is a pain to do everytime I open a new window or tab.

    OSX El Capitan: Version 10.11.1 (B 15, 42)

    Safari: Version 9.0.1 (11601.2.7.2)

At present, there is no way to get rid of the sidebar, but you can hide it.

Click on the button of the sidebar in the Safari toolbar to hide, if it is shown.

  • Bookmarks appear on the Navigation bar

I had everything set up so that from the top down, I got the menu bar, then the navigation bar, then my favorites and the stumbleupon toolbar. Since Firefox itself randomly updated this morning, the navigation bar traded places with my bookmarks and bars to stumble and the Customize menu refuses to save my changes and essentially forcing me to put everything back where it belongs to every time I open Firefox.

I have not downloaded or installed everything recently and start in safe mode puts them in the right order, but then I've got tabs on top again and generally more problems than it fixed.

Try the userChrome.css I posted in this thread:

  • I have no 'live bookmarks' icon in the toolbar of bookmarks. I want it.

It is only "the most visited' in my bookmarks toolbar.

I do not see the 'live bookmarks' or 'breaking news' icons in the
View > toolbars > customize menu button, so I can not drag then in the bookmark there bar.

  • changing Dell for macbook and want to know how to save my favorites

Get a macbook and want to know if there is a way to save my favorites from Mozilla Firefox so that I always have them on the MacBook.

I suggest the creation of these two formats:

The HTML file is a web page, if you open it in Firefox, you should be able to see if it looks full. This is your backup and Safari on Mac will be able to import, too, for those times where you will need to use Safari.

The JSON file is dense text, and if you drop it on a tab in Firefox, it will be not very readable, but this format is more complete, therefore, it is preferred to use on your Mac to configure Firefox.

As for their transfer, you could use an external hard drive, USB key, or cloud storage. Preferably more than one "just in case."

  • Can I save my favorites as html file android phone?

Is there a way to "Save" my favorites on my Android phone.
I want to be able to read, as you can with the desktop version, visible as a html file.

I have * not * want to sync with my laptop.

    Thank you.

As far as I know, it is not an easy process. As far as I know, there is not a direct approach. If you think that you are an advanced user, it can apply these:

    • First you have to find the browser.db, with the help of a powerful as Es File explore File Explorer or Z-archiver
    • The path of the file is / device / data / data / org.mozilla.firefox / files / mozilla / default
    • Then, download free SQLite Database Browser (http://sqlitebrowser.org/) for your laptop
    • Open browser.db with the app and export "bookmarks" table in an Excel table
    • You have a slight change in Excel and create. HTML file
    • Then, you can get your desired result!
  • Button refresh does not appear in the address bar and Favorites bar is empty when I first start FF30

When I launch Firefox 30, my favorite bar is empty. I have to deselect in view > toolbars, and select new it and they appear.
Also, my refresh button at the far right of the address bar has disappeared and all I see is a magnifying glass.
Another question, I now have is that when I copy and paste the URL of any page in the location bar, this then triggers a Google search and go directly to the page associated with the URL.
I tried to rename the profile FF and uninstalling/reinstalling FF, but this has not resolved.
Pointers as my next step should be would be appreciated.
    IM using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit SP1

    Hi Tora Bisu,
Thanks for the reply, but that did not help me because you didn't tell me where to find the ' Stop/reload button Hide URL' parameter, and I couldn't find myself.
However I have addressed myself in addons successively disabling and re-enabling them until I discovered the culprit.
The culprit that I discovered was the classic theme restaurateur, who has now been duly disabled and will not be used again.
