New Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS with OptiPlex 755

Hello

I have a form factor computer to desktop OptiPlex 755 with 3.0 ghz dual core processor, 1 gig ram and 280w of power. I recently bought a new video card because the integrated Intel video card could not support a new game I bought. The card is a PNY Verto with a Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS chipset. I installed it in the PCI express card

slot and turned on the computer while the monitor is connected to the new card and I had no video. I had to return the vedo on the on board to get to the CMOS memory (I think that's what it's called). I chose the onboard/card instead of the automatic selection option in the video section of the configuration of the system, but the system still does not recognize the new card. He used to see the same place on windows. I know that this new card says it requires a 300w power supply, but I heard that dell underestimates their power and is really much more that they are listed. Why my computer does not recognize the card?

  • Could not load the windows7 on new Palit Geforce 8400 GS

I replaced my defective Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS with a Palit Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS. I installed the drivers, but Windows 7 will not progress past the logo.  I checked with Nvidia while in safe mode / networking and also Nvidia let check my installed peripheral system. NVIDIA recommended that I installed a updated version which is what I did. I still have the same problem, showing Windows Startup logo and that's all.

I've updated to Windows 7 from a Vista installed on a computer of Medeon. I don't understand why Windows does not start. The only difference between the existing graphics card and the new is the old one had a 2 cable pins on the motherboard and the new card does not have this facility.

I solved the problem. I've updated my bios and that did the trick.

  • EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS issues: [FIXED] screen and the sound does not [FIXED] virgins

I have a HP Compaq dc5750 I just got an EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS, and I'm having a problem with it. I disassembled the computer cover and installed, replace the cover, turned on the computer and the monitor not power not on. So I decided that I had to disable the integrated graphics card (ATI Radeon Xpress 1150), then I added the card even once. Still happens... Monitor powers on without the new graphics card. My monitor is 8 years old and lacks a DVI port. I have to connect the monitor to the graphics card to make it work? I want just this card to work.

UPDATE: white screen problem is fixed, but the sound does not (no audio installed device) even if the audio driver is installed

    Hello

This kind of question is mainly caused by the sound card driver is not not compatible.  Contact the hardware manufacturer directly to confirm the driver is compatible or not.

Test the issue with another pair of speakers or headphones, or you can plug the device of reading to another port to see the result.

In the meantime, you can also see if the playback device is disabled. To do this, please check the following steps:

    1 Please, click Start-> Control Panel-> Sound.

    2. on the playback tab, right-click on the empty square and then click on "show disabled devices".

    3. check if your playback device is disabled. If so, right-click on it and click Activate.

    1. Please click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.

    2. double-click on Windows Audio.

    3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Then please click on "Stop" under "Status of Service" to stop the service.

    4. click on "Start" under "Status of Service" to start the service.

    Reinstall the audio device

    1. click on start, type Device Manager, click on Device Manager to open it.

    2. expand ' audio, video and game controllers ".

    3. right click on your audio device, and then click on uninstall.

    4. check "delete the driver for this device".

    5. click on OK.

    6. after that, restart the computer, the device and the driver must be reinstalled automatically.

Please check if the problem can be solved now.

If the problem persists, please install the latest driver of sound card on the manufacturer.

I found the problem... once again: I had to go to the BIOS and enable Audio integrated. My audio integrated uses Realtek High Definition Audio instead of Nvidia High Definition Audio.

  • NVIDIA geforce 8400 m gt gpu

Hello. I have this sony all-in-one desktop vgc-lt35e that has been malfuntioning. One day it was fine and then all of a sudden wouldn't boot at all, normal mode and safe mode, nothing is done. It only shows the sony vaio logo when you turn it on. Then some vertical lines followed of the word 'microsoft windows' Burgundy with the bar running. then the green dots everywhere in the screen then a white screen. It's using a gpu nvidia geforce 8400 m gt, which I've heard is to be replace for free on some laptops. mine is not a laptop and the model is not on those listed on the sony site but in my opinion, should also be repaired free of charge because of the defective part. I tried to use F10 to load the installation of the plant. It seems ok, but when it's time to restart to complete the installation, the same problem arise then. Please help sony, it's really frustrating, given the amount I paid for this desktop computer. What should I do?

  • HP m9040n - NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS - replace or upgrade?

Video does not.   NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS - replace or upgrade?  I want to edit the video with the Prime Minister of adobe.  What is recommended?  Not too expensive.

    Hello:

Yes, it would be a better card, because it has a 128-bit memory interface.

The specifications also include a 300W P/S, so this card should also work if your P/S is 300W.

    http://www.GeForce.com/hardware/desktop-GPUs/GeForce-gt-630/specifications

I'd go for this one, as the recommendations of P/S for both cards are the same.

  • Update Windows for Vista - NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS driver errors

Update Vista Home Basic 6002:SP2.  Secunia Personal Software Inspector and MS Security Essentials confirm the system software is updated.

Windows Update optional update for NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS on 4/5 and 4/11.  Updates have been declared as 'Successful' but has caused problems of compatibility with the resolution.  (http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20418057) More details below.

HW - Dell 530 with GeForce 8400 GS with BIOS 62.98.71.0.5 - 512 MB of memory dedicated - 767 MB shared memory.

CRT is detected as driver MS running generic PnP 6.0.6001.18000.  The display is an AMW CM1722PF 17 "CRT with a preferred resolution of the 1024x768x70Hz.  (IIRC, MS drivers for Intel 8031 correctly detected VGA display modes, rather than generic report.)

On both NVIDIA driver update attempts, Windows Update reports the success and I rebooted (despite the lack of obligation to restart).  Display was OK on the screen connection, but limited to 640 x 480 on desktop after login.  Edges of the Office had fallen.

In addition, Panel-> NVIDIA Control Panel translates "the NVIDIA Display Panel Extension cannot be created... Possible reasons include the incorrect version.  Reinstall display drivers can fix this problem. »

After the failure of 4/5, I uninstalled Windows Update display drivers and reinstalled on reboot.  Got the NVIDIA Display Panel and appropriate video modes.  Everything was going well until we repeated this Windows Update NVIDIA driver update fiasco 4/11.

Have not repeated the manual Reinstall driver this time, I'm puzzled why Windows Update can't get this right.    This is a very common piece of hardware and you would think that there is regression tests for driver updates.

This makes me wary of Windows Update.  Suggestions?

    Hello

I posted an incorrect link, changed now.

    http://www.AddictiveTips.com/Windows-tips/disable-Windows-Update-device-driver-search-prompt/

The TechNet post link also has the same information.

Or here - manually on a single computer

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730606 (WS.10) .aspx

Those who work in many cases, I've tried. If you have a current Windows
Update that tries to update a driver, then right-click on it in Windows
Updates and HIDE. There should be no other available.

    I hope this helps.

I have recently upgraded to win 7 64 bit and currently have a GJ120AA - NVidia GeForce 8400 GS 256 MB DH PCIe x 1 card that I bought at HP, but I am not able to find a driver for it for XP or Windows 7.  Anyone know where I could get the driver for this product?  I have tried searching the Internet but couldn't find anything.  Here are the two links that I could find on the HP site, but they offer no support driver.

  • HP 120-011 to: attach a new Nvidia Geforce GT 710 graphics card to HP 120-011 in

Hi, I want to install a new graphics card on my desktop pc HP 120-011 in . My office is currently integrated Intel HD graphics 4400 . I recently bought a Nvidia Geforce GT 710 graphics card, but when I inserted in a PCI-E port, the pc is not able to detect it. So here's my questions-

    1. why this graphics card is not detected by my pc?

    2. then the 180 Watts PSU, which is installed on my system to manage this card? If not, should what power supply I buy?

Its emergency, quick reply pls. Thanks for the help.

    Hi there @Abhishek_India,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that you are having problems with an update of the graphics card.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Looking at the map you want to use: GeForce GT 710 specifications, it shows the following: Minimum System Power requirement (W) 300. This means you want to preferably a power supply in your computer that exceeds this amount, just to be sure.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS

My GeForce 8400 GS fried itself last week. I replaced it with an EVGA GeForce 8400 GS (same model I had).  There was a cable wire, attached to the video card and the motherboard. There is no place on the new GS EVGA 8400, with 512 MB instead of 256 MB RAM to attach the cable. It works perfectly, but my audio has got very weak.  I was running the volume to 50%, but now 100%, is not very strong.

That's the good news. The bad news: it is a Pavilion d4990y CTO I bought in 2007 (Yes, it is quite old, but it still works fine). I am running Windows 8.1 without any problem. It features a Core2 Quad processor, 800 MB of internal storage implemented in RAID 0 (400 MB per disc, 3 external drives from WD (2 1 1 TB and 2 TB.)  There even a 3.5 "floppy drive (I disabled it in the BIOS.) I would not replace... I bought when I was still working to close $2000. Today my budget would be less than $500.

Any ideas on the sound. ? I can live with it, but want my sound back. Any help would be appreciated

I think the speakers are the best solution

  • Envy 15 laptop: NVIDIA Geforce 840 M with HP Envy 15 Lapytop - works with Adobe Premiere Pro

I had this HPEnvy a couple of days and wonder for how long is more. I use the laptop intensively for video

Edition, often away from home. At first, everything was fine. Now, just a couple of days later, it will often start Premiere Pro with 'record and playback' options greyed out, even if the day before, it is not grayed out. When this happens, video playback in Adobe Premiere, he turns for a few seconds and then becomes very jerky and stuttery.

I tried to update all THE drivers video card.

I noticed that there are two video cards appears in Device Manager. "One is the NVIDIA Geforce 840 M, the other appears sometimes as ' Microsoft based *" and sometimes as Intel *. If there are two graphics showing?

I know you tell me to Adobe, but I think that something happens BEFORE first gets a peek in.  The laptop seems slow when loading any software. Just for the record, I uninstalled first Pro CC and have restored the laptop is "as delivered" condition. It took time, of mcourse, but didn't improve questions.

At the current stage at the present time, I can't use the envy 15 it is recommended locations.

I would be grateful for any advice as to why this is happening. Someone at - it of another more it?

Thank you very much for your time and expertese.

    Alan S.

It's been a while but my suspicion of power supply are correct. I replaced the power supply and it is reliable works as expected. I don't know what was wrong with the original, low voltage, main ripple?

Thanks for your time. Problem solved.

    Nice day

Looking to upgrade my Pavillion H8-1221 son with a better graphics card, currently it is running an EVGA geforce GTX 660 and we are looking for upgrade to GTX 980 it.  I was wondering if this will require an upgrade mobo as well or is the OEM card sufficient to manage this card.

    Thanks much for any help.

    SonicRising, welcome to the forum.

I don't think that the video card will work on his computer.  980ti GTX requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  The only BIOS update that is available is to win 8.  You will need to update in 8 Win.

Regarding the upgrade of the motherboard, HP has their motherboards manufactured to their specifications.  Therefore, you must buy a Board that has holes that will correspond to the accessory in the case.  In addition, connectors can be owners, and may not correspond to those of the species.
