New Officejet Pro 8620 slow to start printing

When printing from a laptop Win 8.1 and a Win 7 laptop, the printer is not printing for a whole 60 seconds after clicking on the button print.  Then it prints the page but keeps it for another minute before he spits.  A third Tablet 8.1 winning is also on my net wireless isn't the problem.  It printed immediately.  The first two laptops have been installed since the HP CD supplied with the printer.  The third, a tablet of 8.1 Win, has been installed since the network as it is not a CD player.

I ran the HP printer Scanner doctor and it has been successful to uninstall the printer from the laptop 8.1 first, but I found it easily again in the add a printer in the printer control panel.  I also disabled the firewall McAfee, but that did not help (Yes, I turned it back).  In the Properties window, I checked for the latest version of the driver, I am OK there.

The printer is on my WiFi network.  The icon of spooling print if displayed in the notifications area of the taskbar as soon as I click the button print.  I tried MS Office, Adobe Photoshop and Firefox.  All have the same time frame.

If I told it to print two copies, he waits a minute, prints the first page and then the second, but holds on the second page for one more minute, as was he drying of the ink or something.  I timed it delays with a stopwatch, it takes really two minutes to print a page, or a page with a single word on this matter.  Share mode is turned off.

Printing a test page for the printer properties pane takes also two minutes to complete.  I'm out of ideas so any suggestions will be appreciated.  What is a Windows network or printing problem?

Hi Jamie,

Thank you for your response. Understand that your printer is on wifi and all laptops are connected via the wireless.

Have you tried "hard reset the printer?

  1. Turn the power off. Remove the power cable and the data cable from the device.
  2. Connect the supply directly to a wall outlet cable.
  3. Reconnect the power cable and turn on the power.
  4. Print a self-test by following steps below.
  • Load US letter or A4 size, unused, plain, white paper into the input tray.
  • Press the power button () to activate the product.
  • On the touch screen product, tap the right arrow () to display the second screen of the navigation.
  • Press Setup () on the control screen. The installation Menu appears.
  • Tap the arrow down () and then tap reports.
  • Tap Printer Status Report. The test page will print.

Hello! Welcome to the @lmel forums

I have a few ideas that come to mind, I read the issue you're having with printing of PDF files. They are here!

    1. try to resave the PDF files that do not print and then try printing again.

Select help - search for updates. If a new update is available, it installs automatically.
Once installed, you can restart a computer.
Then try to print the PDF file.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Use eprint to print in b & W

    Hello

I configured my printer Eprint Center so my colleague can print on my printer remotely. However what it prints out in color at my end. He said there is no option to its end to choose whether they come through color or B & W.

I need to print in color myself sometimes, but whatever he sends only must be B & W. is there a way to set all printing with HP Eprint for B & W only? (apart from him having to convert each file B & W before sending)

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: how to connect my laptop directly to my officejet pro 8620

    Hello

I appreciate what may be a simple question so apologies in advance!   I've been printing for a while but now need to print directly from my laptop without using the wireless connection wireless.   Please can you advise how to do this?  I tried to plug in an ethernet cable but it doesn't seem to work, and although I tried to look online guides, that I can't find an answer that works in EEM.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

You can use a USB cable to connect directly to your printer.  (do not connect the USB cable first! Read more on how to add a new printer (connection))

You will need to install the software to add the extra connection.

Assuming that you have installed the FULL features software, follow these steps to add the USB connection:

    1. click on start. Programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8620 > click on the printer

(you can also click the icon of the printer on the desktop)

    2. This will bring up the HP printer Assistant

    3. go to "Tools" > Device Setup & Software

("Note: this is not available in step 1: Device Setup and software")

    4. connect a new printer.

    5. DO NOT connect the USB cable until you are prompted to do so by the software!

Once installed, the USB should be the default printer.  If you want to print using the wireless again, you will need to select the correct printer with wireless as a result.

    Hope that helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: problem with ink

Hello. I have nothing else to the HP printers used in my life using the computer - more than 25 years! I bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 2 years. I also bought cartridges refilled at the same time as my father died and I would need to use the printer a lot. Unfortunately, I bought ink another 3 times for this printer, when printing somewhere near 100 pages ALTOGETHER since the purchase. Problem is the printer keeps saying cartridge is not HP and damaged - should replace the HP cartridges. I've NEVER had a problem before using reloaded cartridges. Why change now? Am very close to get back to using my old computer Win XP and more old HP all-in-one printer. I have 3, and none of them has NEVER given any problems.

Looking for help on this. Have always had confidence in HP before - don't want to lose that now. Last cartridges were new HP, but still having the same problems. Suppliers of ink have been highly evaluated with excellent reviews. Warranty expired a year ago. Haven't had extended warranty because, as I said, never had a problem with HP printers to more than 25 years.

In addition, cellular internet very limited - and not (!) reliable. 50 miles of the city.

Yes, I learned a LOT over the weekend. First of all, I ordered a few inkplicity.com ink. Am curious about their ink, with their 1 year warranty. Shortly after ordering, I contacted Fuzoo, who then asked me to photograph both sides of the chip. I had no idea of the chip was removable. And actually, I see on the YoYoInk cartridges that the chip is glued in place. Then, I saw a few chips ink auto reset for sale online. And then began to find a lot of links and messages and articles on the chips of HP and the problems associated with them. Like my old printers were about 2000 or so, I had never met the problems associated with the current chips.

Now, Fuzoo has graciously agreed to replace not only the Magenta faulty cartridge (which has their 'old' piece), but will send a full order before, which was black (2) and a set of color inks. Can't get much better than this! So it would seem that I'm no longer need an explanation of why this happens - it's all about HP and their need to force their customers (who FREELY CHOOSE to buy their printers) in the purchase of HP ONLY cartridges.

It is a free country that is stuffed with capitalism. You'd be hard-pressed to get into any grocery store and NO search of generic items just alongside their counterparts in brand and usually for less money. You have car trouble? Generic (non - OEM) parts are available, as well as a lot of rooms refurbished. HP should remember their place in the grand scheme of things, or they will go the way of many other electronics companies. Trying to force customers to pay more for ink is bad. ... So this would increase the cost of the printers in the first place? Yes, probably. I was always ready to buy quality products when I could afford to, and HP printers had always been reliable but also easy to use. With this printer, I swore to the dang thing a lot more that I used it.

Please, ch, make the message and ease up trying to railroad customers. Even us loyal customers for a long time "' will leave! Don't forget, we are customers of HP by "choice"!

Problem is now solved. Thank you all for your comments!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet 8620 page count

    Hello

I'm tryingto check if this machine has a counter of total pages, so that I can control my use? Please let me know how to find out.

    Thank you very much

    Jerry

    Jerry Hey,

There is no such an option, which can only be tracked manually.

If the printer is connected via network you can collect this information from the homepage of the printer without printing a report.

The HP Officejet Pro 8620 software click the printer (EWS) homepage and open the Tools tab, the Total number of pages is listed on this page. any follow-up however will have to be done manually.

I just purchased another PC and connected to our 8620 by WiFi. All other devices in my house, are now, impossible to connect to the 8620 by WiFi; It will not even respond to a PING. I reset the network settings and even reset the default printer, but other systems in my House still do not see the printer and cannot print on it. Any ideas why the new PC usurped the printer - and how to make it available to other devices again?

The new PC's Windows 10 64-bit, but at least 2 other systems used to connect to it are as well.

Thank you very much for the help.
