New Satellite Pro L670 - 14 M turns on if the charger is plugged?

Hi all

New to the forum so grateful for any help on this matter.

I bought a brand new laptop Satellite Pro L670 - 14 M last week. Now it works fine up until today. The last time that I used it while just running the battery was Monday night. I was working on the laptop, send email etc. today, and I decided to change rooms. For some reason, I still have to discover that I disconnected the charger from the wall (instead of simply unplug the charger from the laptop) so that it was plugged into the laptop and the laptop just turned off much to my shock. It was sparking that I saw the decision-making that I removed the CAP, but now the laptop lights not unless supply current is connected. If I unplug the charger, the computer does not illuminate.

Now, my first thought is I (crossed beams) killed the battery, but the strange thing is, when the laptop is plugged in and turned on and I'm on my screen and I click on the battery icon in the taskbar it States 94% available (plugged in, load)

While I wait for some answers I hope I shut down the laptop and leave the charger plugged in to see if the battery has loaded more than 94%

Hello

I think that the BIOS update would be worth a try in your case. Take a look at the Toshiba driver download page:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

But before you start the update: make sure that you are logged on as administrator and close all running programs. Unzip all files from zip archive first.
After update successful BIOS load default settings in the BIOS.

Are you using the original Toshiba battery and AC adapter or they are 3rd parties gone?

that seems to be true because the latest drivers for my P300 with 4500 m are 2008!

So, I checked for L670 Vista display drivers and did not find one! Even for Win7 do not seem old already,
is that mean Toshiba is not compatible Vista more? I have to use windows 7 only?

I can see in the specifications of the laptop your laptop came with WIN7 64 BITS HOME PREMIUM.

  • Re: Satellite Pro L670 - can I turn off the sound when the battery is empty?

    Hello

Is it possible to disable the bios beep when the battery is empty or the laptop's Hibernate?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L670.

Even when the sound in Windows is turned off the laptop do a annoying sound.

    Thank you!

Maybe it sounds silly, but I put t understand why that should be disabled. When the battery reaches the critical battery level you will be informed about this and portable must be connected to the power running or you have to save your work and turn it off.

Do you really want to work until the battery is completely discharged?

Anyway, AFAIK this notification level BIOS cannot be disabled.
Let's see if someone else is better informed than me.

  • Satellite Pro L670 Windows using MORE storage than the MAX I put pictures!

I have a strange problem, at least it seems strange to me!

After problems with my last laptop under Vista where space excessive was used by phantom memory, I immediately checked the set up on my new Pro L670 of Satellite running Win 7 64 bit. Pleasantly it was set by default at a MAX 10 GB setting that was very much like the HD 500 gb, however a few days later I found that a few GB of space went so checked again at the vssadmin to find he was using 12 GB even if max was still 10 GB!

I ran a command to resize to the size to 10 GB max, which immediately reduced the used space up to about 8 GB, but a few days later he was back to 12 GB!

    How can this happen?

Today, I checked in "System Protection" of the control panel that has been repoorting that only 4.5 GB used even if vssadmin list shadowstorage reported 12 GB! I have reduced the MAX space by using the slider in "System of Protection" to 6,99 GB and see if Windows supports any notice this time.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

    Hey Buddy,

Why is it a problem that 12 GB will be used for the protection of the system on 500 GB HARD drive?

  • MacBook Air turns on if the charger is plugged

So I bought my Macbook Air 6 months and I love it. I got no problem with him, until today. I was on my laptop this morning and I left it charging for 2 hours, then I came back and my Macbook does not illuminate. I did a lot of research but nothing has worked. I went into a store, so they fix my laptop and see what happened to her. 3 days later, they call me and they tell me that they have set, but it didn't work if it was plugged. They said that it wasn't a battery issue because they have tried with another and it did not work. They said it was the motherboard of the laptop causing this problem. They said it would cost more than £500 to repair, so I said no. I need to my laptop as soon as POSSIBLE because I do all my school work and I have a lot of documents that I need. My question is what is there another solution for this problem? Could this something else that has caused this problem?

    Thank you.

  • Satellite Pro L670-18F - pilots missing after updating BIOS

I have a Satellite Pro L670-18F and I recently updated the BIOS to version 1.5, recommended by the site, but now my internet speed is VERY slow and I have some devices in the Device Manager without drivers related to the bios (from Googling) and so I realized that the bios has been a problem.

Does anyone know this laptop came with to downgrade the BIOS version? Also, if I reinstall windows will I receive a new bios version or will it would not affected?

    Hey,.

Did you download and install the correct version of the BIOS of your laptop? Satellite Pro L670-18F belongs to the series of PSK3FE AFAIK, so have you chosen BIOS for this series of model?

In addition I recommend you load the default settings in the BIOS. Just press F9 key if you are in the BIOS Setup.

If you reinstall Windows, the BIOS will not be affected. BIOS and Windows are different, you will always have the latest version of the even you change your operating system.

  • Question sleeping on all new Satellite Pro U500-1EX

    Hi guys,.

    I have a new Satellite Pro U500-1EX with Windows 7 64 bit.

The laptop is having some problems with its function of sleep. I wonder if others have had the same problem - and if anyone knows anything that can be done.

    OK, there are two questions;
    1. when the laptop enters sleep mode - it will come out it its own after a while. He goes to the login screen and wait about another hour before falling asleep. That's when it is plugged into the power - and no LAN.

    2. when I close the lid to put the laptop into standby - and while on battery - after awhile he will supply any. Connect the power supply won't do anything - the power light not at all - which suggests that the laptop don't even note not be plugged. I have to then remove the battery and turn the computer on (thus losing all the data that I had when I put the computer to sleep!).

So, have you seen this issue with your satellite pro? This is something common and being ignored - or y at - it an easy solution for it?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Audette

    Hi Audette,

I have the Satellite U500 also but I can t notice any question about fashion 'sleep'. It works perfectly with an OS preinstalled Toshiba and the latest version of the BIOS. Then perhaps you need to update the BIOS as suggested Timox.

Before you begin the update, close all running programs (also, AntiVirus and firewall), make sure you are logged in as administrator and do not stop the computer being updated.

By the way: you use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba?

  • Satellite Pro L670 - photo of autumn leaves displayed by webcam

    Satellite Pro L670.
I am trying to use the built in camera for taking videos and still images.

When I turn the camera the only image displayed, it's just a picture of the leaves fall.
I can't get a picture that sees the carema to display.

The camera works because I can use it for Skype and MSN.
When I take a picture using the Control Panel, the only image taken is that of the leaves.

The image is called a 'protection of screen '.

Drag your mouse on your pop out where you choose to use your webcam, instead click the option at the bottom of the "Effect" in their 'net', click and click 'OFF' Tada!
The now disappeared from your cam Image,

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro L670-16Z - XP installation after using Windows 7?

Regards to all forums. I'm new here.

Next week I should get a new pc, * Satellite Pro L670-16Z *. I have a few questions.

    * 1. * If, during some weeks, use my computer with Windows 7, after that I can downgrade to Windows XP?

    * 2 if I downgrade to XP, you can reinstall Windows 7 new?
    Thank you for the replay.

If you want to reinstall Windows 7, you must first create the recovery disk. There should be an icon on the desktop. Use good quality DVD discs since those of poor quality can cause errors during recovery.

To install XP, you buy XP in a store (which may be difficult).

You can run XP in Windows 7 Professional or higher using a Virtual Machine.

  • Satellite Pro L670-18F - plasticky rattle on the lower part of the keyboard

Brand new L670-18F a plasticky rattle on the bottom of the keyboard and the whole area of the keyboard.

    Anyone experienced this?

    Hello

I m not Satellite Pro L670 owner but in my opinion it of difficult to discuss these issues without seeing and hear it.

From my own experience, I can say that I have two laptops Toshiba and I can t view all rattle plastic. Everything is ok, the quality is perfect.

If you think that it s something wrong, you should get in contact with a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can take a look at your notebook and tell you if it of ok or not. :)

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 18F PSK3FE Webcam works become "unknown device".

The * webcam * on my * Satellite Pro L670 - 18F PSK3FE * who is running * Windows 7 64 - Bit * a well worked until this week. My notifications bar started to say * "unknown USB device" * and when when I went to use the webcam it no longer worked.

When I disabled the webcam in the BIOS the notification has stopped, but when I turned it on the notification came back again to the top. The unknown device is clearly the webcam.

I updated my BIOS and tried the system restore.

I also downloaded the driver for the webcam of http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK and have tried running that - + but it NEVER seems to complete the installation. + I have will continue to try to reload the driver and see if that helps, but from now on, I do not think that the pilot will help.

If it is just a driver problem, someone could suggest how to get the driver to install really :-(

I am now at a loss. I'm not sure what to do now. Suggestions?... + Please! +

    Hello

Unknown device means that the driver is not installed.
I think that the installation of the webcam driver should fix it.

As face recognition also use the webcam, I recommend you to uninstall this tool as well as the older version of the software of the webcam.
Both (or just face recognition) should appear in Control Panel-> software

Now download both applications to the driver page.
Start with the installation of the webcam driver:
    (1) unpack the webcam driver package

    (2) the TC30049700N.exe may also be decompressed (right click-> extract here)

    (3) now you should see different files exe, dll, and others attempt to run setup.exe to start the installation. If this does not work, go to Device Manager, mark (webcam) unknown USB device and install the driver pointing to the folder that contains the files of webcam driver. The system should automatically recover dll files.

    (4) restart the laptop and follow with face recognition software.

    Good luck

  • New Satellite Pro stuck in the cycle of configuration

I'm not computer savvy, so that makes me NUTS!

I just got a new satellite Pro through insurance. I turned it on and it says to its implementation for the first use. Then there are a variety of options for me to click, but does not give me enough time to read what they are still in front of a "System Configuration" screen comes up and takes over. When this is done, it is said do not press the button of the mouse and then log off and stops. Then it restarts and the foregoing goes everywhere again... its repetition on! and keep it doing so again and again and again for well over an hour now! I can't do anything with it!

    What should I do?

    Hi anotherhopeful,

To be honest, I think that no one here can say something, if you put the model of cell four t post. There are many Satellite Pro models on the market so that it says nothing

From my own experience, I can say that Windows 7 installation takes a long time and your computer will reboot 10 times or more. Then, you may need to wait a little longer until the installation is finished.

  • Satellite Pro L670 - size of the Excessive recovery partition

    Hello

New to this forum I have just bought a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite Pro L670, is great so far, but I have a question I'd like to solve.

It has a 500 GB hard drive, which will be more than enough for some time yet, but I'm not satisfied with the way it is partitioned, usable space is divided into 232 C: and 232 GB D: that has the data folder HDDRecovery on it. Now, I know that I can still use the partiition for data, but I prefer to keep all my files in one place and the usual locations of Windows on the C: drive.

What is the best way to recover all my hard drive space, Windows allows me to shrink the D. partition, but cannot extend the C: partition into free space created as the recovery folder is in the way. Thought copy output folder then recreate a smaller partiiton D: but he did not like me trying to move the folder either!

ID of burn recovery DVDs can I safely delete the D: partition? I prefer to keep the disk but with a bigger drive C: is the highest priority!

    Congratulations to all

    Steve

    Hi scoobasteve,

    > What is the best way to recover all my hard drive space
There is no better way. There are many options for the creation of new partitions because some people prefer a single partition, other people using a lot of partitions.

    Don t worry folder HDDrecovery!

For example, I installed all my programs/games on the first partition C: where I installed Windows as well. This partition uses 50% of HARD drive space.
Then I have a second partition D: with HARD drive recovery record. He s using the other 50% and on that, I've stored my files like photos, videos, music, documents, etc. No program, but all other files.

In my opinion that s ok because I have to run HARD drive recovery, only the C: partition is removed. My important files are still on the D: partition after recovery of HARD drive. In addition, each week, I create a backup of all files on D: partition wait folder of HARD disk recovery. That's why I use Acronis True Image, it records the image on an external DRIVE connected via USB drive.

Then why delete disk HARD recovery file?
Of course, you can remove it but create the before recovery disk! After you delete the folder, you are not able to do this more!
