new star firefox bookmark location

I have the new update of firefox.
I was surprised to see the star to make a new bookmark moved further to the right on the screen.
Is there a real reason for the change, or just to look at new and better?

You can watch the classic extension theme restaurateur restore some features that has been lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.

You can check the Options/preferences in Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions to put the star in the address bar.

  • How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in the folder of the user on the same PC (new), in Firefox?

How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in the folder of the user on the same PC (new), in Firefox? I exported my old PC Firefox bookmarks in a folder [Windows 8] on my new PC.
When I use the ease of importing from Firefox, it will only import a bookmark at a time - and then it inserts the bookmarks all the main pages on the site marked with a bookmark, not just the one I initially put bookmark. Also, it does not matter the information stored in the bookmark tag.

    Sure thing.

  • new computer - how to get the old computer firefox bookmarks

I had to buy new computer cause the old one does not stay on, and I want / need to get all my info from Firefox - bookmarks etc... on my new computer. I had everything backed up (supposedly) on a WD external drive and I can't have information out of it either. My other computer was 5 years old and I used Firefox from the start, so there is a lot of info that I desperately need.

If you still have this old computer, remove the hard drive and put it in a USB drive enclosure - (should be available at most stores that sell new computers) and recover your data from the old hard disk Firefox.

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile

Your old profile is located here in Windows Vista and Win7:

    drive: \Users\Windows login user name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile_name

  • I got a new computer and installed Firefox, but do not know how to transfer Firefox bookmarks on the old computer.

This must be one of the most common problems that people encounter. We receive all new computers every so often, and we all need to keep the old bookmarks when we get a new computer and install the new browser.

I feel that I must be among the small minority of people who do not know how to proceed. My old computer is not dead, she's just older (he uses XP). I kept around until I have all the data out. Any help in doing this would be greatly appreciated.

I am now using Windows 7.

There are several ways you can do this:

You can set up Firefox Sync for syncing between computers.
    Edition-> Preferences-> Sync... OR Preferences-> Preferences-> Sync...
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/how-do-i-set-up-Firefox-sync
Advantages: Easy to use, once set up, keeps several devices synced
Cons: Harder to define, requires Internet access, keep track of "Firefox Sync Key."

    You can export/import favorites
    Bookmarks-> show all bookmarks-> import and backup->...
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/export-Firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer
Benefits: Easier to transfer one time, can be done "offline".
Cons: Maintain multiple devices synchronized in this way can be time consuming and possibly confuse / boring

  • My favorites were recorded in my new laptop, but when I added Firefox bookmarks are not here; How can I get the out of the folder and the page of firefox?

just what I said. my old shorted out laptop screen - my support tech (which are closed now) has transferred all old laptop again laptop information - there is a collection case which, in my view, has the old bookmarks. When I added to firefox for the new portable computer bookmarks do not come to the top.

You can search in your collection to a folder named bookmarkbackupsfolder? It should contain files with similar names to:

    bookmarks-2013-08-11.json

Assuming that you find these files, this article describes how to restore them on your new installation of Firefox: restoring bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer. Please note that the restore function replaces all bookmarks that you can add to your new installation. If you need to keep those, you can do an import and export through the HTML format. This message has the steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/966986#answer-463938.

Edit: My apologies for typo in bookmarkbackups's fault.

  • Can I import my Firefox bookmarks from an automatic backup to a new MacBook Pro computer?

I backed up my MacBook Pro 11 OS X Lion with Time Machine system and then got a new MacBook Pro 13 OS X Mountain Lion system. I can't use Time Machine to restore my system. I was able to drag and drop my files, but I forgot to backup my Firefox bookmarks HTML. Are automatic backups .json accessible Firefox for me on my external drive for Time Machine? Can I find one of these backups and restore it on my new laptop? I did not all new bookmarks, crushing would not be a problem.

Have you already found the Firefox profile folder in this Time Machine backup?

  • New Firefox seems to be missing the opportunity to create a new folder of bookmarks - any help is appreciated.

I've just updated to the new Firefox, and now when I try to create a new folder of bookmarks, the option is gone (I see all of my folders of old, but the "New folder" option, which was on the bottom of the dropdown menu, disappeared. Or I see it anywhere else.

Looks like the theme you use has changed the button "new folder". This is probably the icon "+" under the folder tree (you can also type Alt + o in the Bookmark dialog box to create a new folder).

  • When you export your bookmarks from old pc to new pc, your bookmarks will also remain on the old pc?

I want to stay because the old pc still works

Yes, if you use the HTML export format or the more comprehensive backup JSON format and copy the file to the new PC, the two are completely independent. However, if you have set up the synchronization, then the two will be linked and often changes over to another (for better or for worse!).

  • Could not import Firefox bookmarks

Using the last El Capitan (10.11.6) and Firefox 48.0.1.

I have my favorites in Firefox and want to import them into Safari.

I'm going on Safari, file / import of... / Firefox

Select bookmarks, and then click OK

It hangs for a while, and the CPU usage is 0%

However, no imported Favorites appear in Safari.

If I, instead, export as HTML in Firefox, I can import that uses the file / import of... / bookmarks HTML file.

What I don't want is the 2nd option, because she simply creates a folder of bookmarks in Safari instead of map to good equivalents of Safari (toolbar, etc.)

How can I go on Safari to recognize Firefox bookmarks in native mode?

If the problem is still there, try to boot mode safe using your usual account to see if you can import.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • Whenever I go to a new page, Firefox saves

So, whenever I open a new page, Firefox saves in thumbnails when I open a new tab. How can I stop this? It gets really annoying.

It is normal for Firefox create thumbnails of pages in your history, but generally the new tab page is filled with very visited sites and shows rarely new sites, so it's weird to see them appear immediately (unless you clear your history frequently).

You want to change what shows in a new tab? There is a hidden for this parameter:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?
