'New' strange problem when connecting to external monitor

in the last two days, I experience a new and strange problem when you try to extend or duplicate my screen of my laptop to an external monitor.  I do usually all the time, but now when I plug the HDMI cable to the laptop I have 'lost' my original on the laptop screen and can see a larger version of the Windows logo, so the original laptop screen is "gone" or unusable.  It is not cable or an external monitor, as it works fine with my cell phone to friends. Could it be a corrupted file or a parameter? Please tell me I didn't have to reload Windows over this. Thanks in advance.

Hi Joyce,

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your patience.

I suggest you update this link display drivers and check.

  • New resolution problem when connecting HDMI to TV

We have a g6 Pavillion and we were happily watching Netflix movies on our sharp HD 1080i TV via an HDMI cable... until very recently.   Now all of a sudden we get a message when we try to run Netflix that the resolution is too low and it will not launch the application.  When the HDMI cable is unplugged, the resolution on the computer is 1366 X 768.  As soon as I plug the HDMI cable, it falls to 1280 X 720, and I don't see any way to fix it.  The TV shows 1080i by looking at the other entries. It gives no exact resolution, but there must be better than 720.  As soon as I plug the HDMI from laptop, television shows 720 resolution of entry.  So I suspect that this is a problem on the side of the computer.  The strange thing is that it worked fine before.  Any ideas out there?

If I were you, I would make sure that you use the "Extended desktop" mode and the TV screen is on it's native resolution in the Properties window.

Using extended desktop allows displays to have independent resolutions that you can adjust to your liking.

  • MacBook - problems to connect the external display w

I do a lot of presentations (Keynote) to Mac external displays at events.

The new MacBook (12 ") is quite often problems, so I have to carry a MacBookAir as back-up in case where.

Problems can be no image at all, or two images (like 70% Keynote + 30% of office) and with spikes.

It doesn't matter if I use HDMI or VGA. And Yes, I know how to set the resolution in the workplace sometimes that the problem is solved by adjusting the resolution manually, but then the Macbook can jump to the resolution which does not by itself during the slide show...

I think that the problem only occurs when I have to go through a device such as a split, or when there is a lot of tech back stage.

Anyone having problems of this kind with the MacBook?

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix?

    * Hi-speed III Port Replicator is not an option, because it is not available in my country (Croatia).

    Hello

I don t think you will be able to connect two external monitors to this laptop using HDMI and RGB port at the same time because of different types of signals.

The RGB/VGA port supports analog signal.

The HDMI port provides the digital video output and when the external monitor is connected to the HDMI port the device is set to HDMI.

  • Connect an external monitor to an Equium L10-300

    Hello

I wonder if someone can tell me how to connect a Viewsonic external monitor to a laptop Equium L10-300?

I unplugged the screen and when I got to reconnect again I got a message "No signal input" on the monitor. I sent the manufacturers of screens that said I had to turn on the laptop, wait for Windows to load, and then press and hold the function key, while pressing F10. There is nothing! Before that, they said that I needed to press the feature key followed by the key with the monitor symbol F on it, it doesn't work anymore!

Can someone help me out here?

  • Possible to connect an external monitor for laptop HP Pavilion dv4t-4200 CTO

I have a HP Pavilion dv4t-4200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC model # A1M02AV and it has a VGA, one port that resembles a cable port phone/broadband and one that looks like a USB port, but indented on each side down. I can even connect an external monitor? How will I know if I have more than 1 video card? In addition to the usual USB/headphone ports, I have not all ports. He says that my drivers are up to date... but I don't know even what I'm looking for. Do I need to install something or buy some kind of adapter?

I'm trying to connect an external Dell montitor via the VGA port with a VGA cable. The monitor has power, but my laptop does not detect recognize them / it. However, when I plugged in the first time in, my laptop screen has shrunk in a square (vs the entire screen) so he acknowledged something... but nothing happened on the external monitor.

I tried to detect through my display settings, but I have accidentally changed some display setting until the reception desk shows only 1 monitor, but not selected my real laptop screen or something or changed to be Monitor 2 (even if there is no monitor 1), so when I plug the cable into my laptop suddenly my desktop disappears and it's just a white background screen - and I cannot access the screen of the computer settings or whatever whatever... when the cable is disconnected this setting seems to be normal, so I can not understand how to fix it.

Sorry, I don't know what I'm doing here - please help!

    Hello

All Dell monitors are equipped with CD for the drivers. Your laptop may not know the monitor without its driver, it will not install automatically. Please check:

Ringht click an empty space on the desktop,

    Click Customize

    Click on display

    Click on change display settings

You can see the TWO laptop screen and external monitor in there, as shown in the following image:

For the test, I put my Dell monitor is my main screen. If I can't see 2 monitors, you need its driver first and then check the cable.

    Kind regards.

  • WT8-B-102 - how to connect the external monitor

    Hello

I have a toshiba WT8-B-102 Tablet and I need to connect an external monitor (vga or hdmi).
My tablet doesn't have an hdmi port.

    Any solution?

    Best regards
    Francisco

    Hello

WT8-B-102 does not therefore support other output micro HDMI port the connection to an external monitor or TV isn t possible.

But as far as I know the Tablet supports the wireless display technology (Miracast / Intel WiDi) and if the TV supports the same technology, you should be able to output the internal display on TV s screen too.

  • How to connect an external monitor to the hp slate 21 pro

I have a HP Slate 21 Pro. Anyone know how I can connect an external monitor to reflect what's on my tab

    Hello

There is no way to connect an external cable monitor such that HDMI port is entered only.

Your only solution would be to use the wireless display option in the settings, but you would need a monitor/TV/adapter that would work as a Miracast receiver.  I'm not sure specific screens that function as receptors, but I used adapters are the PTV3000 Netgear and Actiontec SBWD100A01,.

    I hope this helps.

    Is there a question here?

Read your manuals and find a way to use your laptop computer based on the instructions from Sony to connect external (including projectors) monitors for the laptop.  Usually a connection (as you said Windows XP where you have published, probably VGA) for the monitor and a few buttons to tell the laptop to mirror or extend the display to the second monitor.

Hello. After you connect the external monitor, go to the sound properties (Control Panel > Sound). On the Read tab, right click on "Speakers" and make sure that the default device. And then the audio will be released through the speakers of the laptop again.

If "Digital output" or "HDMI Audio" is the default device, then you will hear no audio.

  • How to connect the external monitor to Satellite T130-C17?

It has a HDMI port on my laptop and I would use it to connect to a monitor...
The monitor supports DVI and VGA...
So I thought that buying a VGA-HDMI would do the trick...

Unfortunately, when I plug it almost doesn t do something...
I want to use the monitor as my monitor 3rd btw. That's why I want it on the HDMI port.
The resolution isn't really a problem for me because I put t want to do something great graphics on it anyway.

For me, it makes sense to use the HDMI Cable DVI and not to use the VGA port.

This third monitor is a little strange to me.

  • Satellite L650 - HDMI connection for external monitor

I've linked the laptop to my Sony LCD TV via HDMI, no problem. I have a (Acer, 24-inch) LCD monitor that has a HDMI port also. I used it to play ps3 and xbox360 via HDMI connection, no problem. I have two lines HDMI 1.3. The two lines are working without any problems.

However, when I connect my laptop to my LCD Acer just external LCD monitor can t work properly. I can barely see what is display on the monitor, very snowy. It's hard to describe. I took a photo but don't know where to download it here.

I tried both HDMI lines, but both failed. I tried to change a few settings in the laptop, but nothing makes any difference. I'm looking for the driver for video card on the Web from Toshiba website and found that my current license is updated.

I'm not a tech geek, but I think that I don't know something on the computer. Am I missing something here?

Guys (and girls), please throw in an idea (tooth tell me to check if the connection is good, I don't already).

    Hey,.

If you connect your laptop to external monitor and press the FN + F5 key combination what happens exactly? Pressing the FN + F5 key combination shows different options and you should test with external monitor only (not the clone image). If you work on external monitor doesn't do this work?

In addition, you must connect the devices before starting their.

Also, take a look in the BIOS and try to load the default settings. Make sure that that the HDMI cable is connected before starting Windows and check the status again.

By the way: what operating system are you using exactly?
