  • New tab page is not refreshed when I delete a site

I have two problems with the new tab page:

    1. The new tab page will not refresh when I delete a site. I can click on the [X] button to delete a site, but nothing seems to happen. The site remains on the new tab page until I have refresh or reload the page.
    2. Firefox restores all the sites that I delete the new tab page, the next time that I restart Firefox.

    Found the problem:

DOM. Storage.Enabled apparently affects the new tab behavior (bozhe me!)

I had mine set to false; Apparently, it breaks the new tab page. Changing to true restored expected behavior.

Would be nice if the entries in About: Config to http://kb.mozillazine.org/ included a description interconnected how change these options will affect/guy features in Firefox. (And while I'm wishing I join $ 1 million, a pony, and peace in the world). Is life...

  • Hello. I installed the latest update of Firefox and when I start a new tab page displays not now my entry from google line.please help.tks

Hello. I installed the latest update of Firefox and when I start a new tab page displays not now my google input line. I use Windows 10. Until the recent update (v4.1.01) each time I started a new tab the new page would show the google search entry line which is my default. Can help you to restore this feature? TKS

Hi, 41 of Firefox, you must use the add-on tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the page tab.

Once installed, open the Add-ons (Ctrl + Shift + A) Manager > Extensions, and then look for the new tab override and click Options to set your preference.

Notice, if you want only the new tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the Add on new tab homepage instead.

You will then need to restart Firefox for all changes to take effect.

  • Why my new tab key does not work?

When I click on the sign more to get a new tab, it does not so I have to open a new window in mozilla if I want to look at several Web sites at the same time. I restarted my computer several times and it did not help. I would be grateful of any advice that anyone has, and I prefer to work with a browser open and have access to several tabs. Also, if I click a link on a Web site that will open a new tab, but I can't open a by clicking the sign more or new tab by clicking on the menu drop down.

The new tab key does not work when I click it. I reinstalled FF but with no luck - any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • New tab page is not synchronized between several PCs

I use Firefox on three PC and FF Sync is enabled on each of them. Two of the three PCs have the "speed dial" on the new tab page (6 pages, most used) while the third PC only shows a blank page. Why isn't it synchronized? Or is it supposed to be synchronized in the first place? (I have verified synchronization options 'Options').

I discovered something important - I use Tab Mix Plus, it has an impact on what is happening on the new tab page and its setting are possibly not synchronized automatically - at least, I found there is a choice "sync Options" in Tab Mix Plus and it has been disabled.

It will probably be the cause of my problem. Thanks anyway a helping hand.

  • New tab reset does not

I have a hijacking my new tab search engine and tried to go in the About: config, but every time I try and change the browser.newtab.url that will not change. Can someone help me solve this problem, I suspect that it is malware.

There are two ways to interpret your description:

    • you right-click > reset but instead of changing about: newtab (default setting), it remains the value to something
    • the preference is defined: newtab but Firefox shows a different page

Assuming that this is the second case, you can have an unwanted extension that is the substitution of your new tab page. Try this:

Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

That help return you to the page of the new normal tab?

P.S., Chrome also has a page of extensions, someone in this menu of '3 '.

  • Home page button does not, how to fix?

In my Firefox 4, the home button does not take me to the homepage. However, it opens a blank page saying browser.startup.homepage = about: home and the address "chrome://branding/locale/browserconfig.properties" appears in the url bar.

I tried fixing it by clicking on restore by default and it still does not work.

    Any help appreciated.

I would hazard a guess that you have some installed plugin which changes the settings of Firefox. Try safe mode, and also look at what is stated in your Windows XP lists as installed programs.

  • When I open a new tab, it does not make to the top of my home page. It opens another page of sites search engine.

When I click on the new button tab, a small cross, opens the new tab, it displays another page in search of sites, not my home page. I can't find the place where to tell him to open my homepage on all new tabs that are open from the tab bar.

The basic build Firefox always open a blank page when you open a new tab.

Maybe some Add on that you have changed this feature of Firefox which opens now all tabs in a different page. Here's what you need to do.

Open Firefox-> go to Menu help-> select "restart with disabled modules.

Firefox closes, then it will open with Firefox comes from base. The tabs will now open to a blank page. You can enable add-ons again and check if its not working properly.

  • My new tab icon does not work anymore, how can I solve this problem?

When I click on my new tab icon nothing happens. It started recently. I rebooted my machine and Firefox restarted all to nothing will do.

Or not work Ctrl + T, or the new tab menu item. I hate having to go through Internet Explore. Help, please. Thank you.

Could you try Mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the dialog box, click on 'Start mode safe' (not Reset)

    Any difference?

  • How to open a new tab that does not replace a tab open?

When this site talks about a method of 'open a new tab' and I use it, what I get is a new tab which is superimposed on (replace) a tab already open. It is not my goal. I would like to be able to open a new adjacent tab, which I can do by clicking on the + sign at the end of all open tabs. I want a shortcut for this.

  • Search works do not and when I right click on a link to open it in a new tab, it does not work either.

The other day, I noticed that my search box stop working. Even when I go to options and click on search, it will not be open to the top of the tab to the search options. Today, I noticed that when I right click on a link, it brings up a long list of options, but the only one I want to work is the "Open link in a new tab." Unfortunately, it does not work. I ran Spybot, Malwarebytes and Microsoft Defender and what malware, they found, it does not solve the problem. I even tried Firefox in Safe Mode and updated, but still questions. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, this is probably because something on your system has crushed all providers default search in firefox. to recover it please download and reinstall firefox to https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ on top of your existing version.

Since it is a behavior often caused by adware on a system, please also run a scan complete of your different system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner.
