  • Back to new tab page after clicking on a link

In 14 of Firefox (Beta), after the discovery of new tools tab, I decided to ditch Speed Dial and use the default new tab page. Miss nothing.

Yesterday, I upgraded to the beta version of FF15, and now when I click on a link on the new tab page I can't come back. I need to open a new tab to go back to it, instead of being able to view a page, go back and read another page. I tried to look at the subject: config to see anything that might resemble distance as an option to keep the new tab page in the history backwards, but I found nothing. A way to solve this problem?

I also checked on Firefox UX and it like this 'feature'. This is not a problem of Add-ons, but rather a regression in Firefox.

Is there any line in everything: config, or in any way I can change a file in the Firefox application? It should really be a subject: line config, I thought Firefox was given a choice for all.

  • I don't want to use the new tab Page. Is there a way I can just get my new tab automatically display Google? I'm sure this has been possible before.

I already uninstalled the add-on NTP. I can't stand it. The question sums up exactly what I'm trying to accomplish.

What page you want as the new tab page?

If you want the website http://www.google.com for example then set the pref browser.newtab.url http://www.google.com

The default value for the pref is built on: page newtab with the grid 3 x 3 mosaic.

You can use change in the context menu or jut double-click the pref to change its value.

How can I put ONLY 9 tabs, NO 15, on the new tab Page?
(First OFF... Please do not read this as being written by an angry person.) I'm just frustrated with the browser that I liked for years. I hope someone can help me)
For a long time, I had my Firefox (version 33.0.2 - even if I don't remember getting mentions "update") defined so that every time I clicked on the tab new symbol '+' to create a new tab (which has the "new tab Page" on that), the NINE inch nails would be shown for my SELECTION and PIN sites. I LOVED!
Yesterday, I opened Firefox and NOW when I click on the '+' to open the new tab Page... FIFTEEN thumbnails appear, 5wide x 3down, (and to be honest I probably would have the habit of 15! ha).
Here's the PROBLEM: NONE of the thumbnails are "compressed". They ALL have "liberated" up yellow icon to the left and clicking on does nothing to remedy this of course. Other that THAT, everything else behaves normally. (that is to say moving the thumbnails, deleting, swap... I just can't pin THEM!)
FINALLY, I prefer my 9-repositionable decals on the new tab Page.
I went through ALL the options on the side, upside down and backwards, and I just get more frustrated.
    Can someone help me?
