New version of Outlook Express is installed by the computer expert. Ask me now a password for POP3I don.t know the password so can't receive emails

New version of Outlook Express asks for the password. I do not know what is the password and can't access POP3 for incoming e-mail

Ask the expert of the computer what he or she did.  If the password for your e-mail account, you must ask your supplier of postal services of the POP3 represent what is the password, that nobody here knows.

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

  • Using Windows XP. How to install a newer version of Outlook Express?

Have used Outlook Express for years, but there is no longer anything other that gives me error messages that leave me puzzled.  Please help me.

If the OE does not start, its usually due to corruption in the message.  Try deleting folders.dbx (hidden) and then see if OE will start.  Once it does not start, click file | Identities and setup a new identity.  This will give you a new message store and registry settings, and you can then go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

  • My older version of outlook express has several problems, will be these imported into a new account in thunderbird

My older version of Outlook Express has acquired several problems. It is time for a change, these errors will be imported into a new account in Thunderbird. I hope that everything is based on the conviction that the two programs are completely different.

You don't say what problems you have with OE, then how everyone has to guess?

There is no such thing as a "Thunderbird account. You do not have an account with your email provider. To access this account, you can use OE, or Thunderbird.
But Thunderbird isn't your e-mail provider.

Whenever I have new identity in Outlook Express 6.0, I get a dialogue box that says to save space, Outlook Express can compact messages.  I received a patch of Bruce Hagen to tell Windows to stop indexing. When I try to uninstall the Application Support Apple and Apple update I get the message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource."

I installed Revo Uninstaller and it has removed a from there, but Quicktime and Apple programs are always in my programs on my computer. When I try to reinstall Itunes it says I already have a newer version of Quicktime and do not complete the installation.

  • A new version of windows is already installed... where is it?

I'm trying another thread for help, hoping someone can solve this mystery.

I tried 10 (hated) windows and am back on windows 7 but have 'lost' windows mail along the way and can't get it back.

My programs & features show that I uninstalled but I can't install windows essentials 2012 without getting the error code "a new version of windows is already installed." I also get the code0x8007064C of error saying that the source of the problem is mail.

I tried every fix I can find on the internet and in these forums... nothing works. I also found a folder in C:, right underneath the program files, that says that windows. What is 57 000 files and I wonder if it's the windows 10 files. Those who cannot be deleted!

I passed all the quick fixes like turning on windows firewall. I have an Acer PC 64-bit. This is the last thread I posted in and responses from one of the Microsoft team, that did not work:

    Victorinox original title: outlook express.

    Hello everyone.

I'm new to these forms. so I hope that I've posted to the correct form. Moderators please move my post if I'm in the wrong form.

My question is: when I opened the window of outlook express it opens in the window expand only.
I'm not able to resize the window.
When I try to enter this window with the mouse cursor and drag this window that does not either.
When I click Restore down the window will minimize in the taskbar.
the only way I can open re which minimize the window in the task bar it is right-click on it and select optimize.
also when I right click that minimize button in the task bar and the small box opens, the move, the size and the reduced are grayed out.
the exact behavior even happens when I open the Task Manager window and the window add / remove programs.

I am able to enter with the cursor of the mouse normally on IE8 Windows, Notepad window, WordPad and the Control Panel window and re size all of these windows.

    How can I fix?

I can't think of all the programs I have installed recently.

I am running Windows XP edition Home 32 x 86 SP3 with all current updates.
I am running IE8 with all current updates.
I am running McAffee internet Security with all current updates...
I think that my skills with windows and computers are a little below average I think.

I would appreciate a response and assistance :)

    Thanks in advance
    Charles

    Hi Charles,

Try to connect with different profile and see if the problem persists? Say to connect as an administrator and see if the problem is repeated here.

If you are already connected as long as administrator, try to create a different profile-> click on Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> users and accounts. (http://www.ehow.com/how_2078860_create-new-user-account-windows.html)

If everything works well, copy your problematic profile to this new profile data see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

    I hope this helps.

I always work hard and with Firefox. My customization assuming that it is transferred always organize buttons back and forward in the navigation bar on the right side which was convenient for a quick job. In the new version of Firefox 29.0.1 deleted the possibility of moving the navigation on the right side buttons... Firefox is not flexible enough for the user. Really sorry. Restored version of Firefox 28. More frequent to not remove the flexible adjustment of the navigation keys. Thank you.

28 Firefox has security flaws. It is not safe to use.

You can move the navigation buttons in Firefox 29 if you install an add-on.

    1. Classic restaurateur theme installation and restart Firefox when prompted.
    2. Open the modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
    3. Beside the classical restaurant theme, click on the Options button.
    4. On the main tab, make sure 'Mobile back-forward button' is checked. Close the options window when finished.
    5. Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar and select Customize.
    6. Drag the previous/next buttons wherever you want.
    7. Click the Customize the output at the bottom right button when finished.
  • I want to delete my Outlook Express 6 program from my computer.

    Original title: Ms.

I want to delete my Outlook Express 6 program from my computer.  I don't want no more of this program.  I now use XFinity E-mail and Outlook gets in my way when I train to attach attachments and other things.  How to remove Outlook Express 6 program from my computer?

OE is integrated with XP so you cannot remove it. In the control panel. Add/Remove programs. Add/Remove Windows components, uncheck OE to remove access to it.

Note that if you use Xfinity Webmail, if you try a right click on a file and send to | Recipient of the message, you will get an error message saying: there is no default e-mail program. Webmail is not recognized when you perform this action. You will need to open a new message window, and then attach the file.

My system is XP Microsoft w/Internet Explorer 7.  My online service is through netzero.  I started having problems several weeks ago about my Outlook Express.  In the last whe I send a file, he crossed for recipients and also would go directly to my sent folder.  Now adays, occasionally, the info is sent to recipients but does not go to my sent folder and the express pointed out a mistake and put my email in the Outbox.  I have to move it to project from the Outbox folder or the system keeps trying to return.  He goes to the recipients, but not in my sent folder.  What's wrong?

    original title: Microsoft Outlook Express

You have apparent dbx file corruption.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
