  I know why you're so boredom get the drivers to work. You mentioned that it was a fresh install of your OS and I remembered a thread that I helped at the earliest when a "launch manager" was neede to get ethernet controller to work.

  I know that the thread refers to vista, but I think that when you reinstalled your operating system you have removed some required software to launch your ethernet driver. I hope this helps.

  I have loaded win 7 pro 64-bit on my 745. Has made the custom which wiped the disc. The load has frozen several times but managed to raise and go through the settings. I have 2 GB of memory. No additional card plugged everything flowing from the motherboard.   Dell does not support Win 7 on the 745, so you'll have to dig for the drivers.

  Dell 64-bit Vista drivers can -or not - work with Win 7 64 bit.

  See if you can find a Win 7 64 bit driver for the right Intel chipset and Intel Q963\Q965\G965 graphics controller on the Intel download site.

  If you also want to install a video card, you will need to go to the site for any video card you have (for example, AMD) and look for a Win 7 64 bit driver for this specific card.

  You can download the drivers on any PC and transfer on the 745 desktop and install mode without failure. Then restart normally.

  OK, you need to make a Windows Vista install screen... not who's going to go with your HP recovery CD/DVD. The disks do not contain the Windows installation routine, only the HP Recovery Manager. These discs contain more or less, an image of the HP installed OS and software, plus some drivers and applications. To the best of my knowledge, you should have three DVDs (1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3/3) more an additional drive. You should boot from CD 1 of 3... Then, when asked to insert the 2/3... Then, when asked to insert 3/3. And finally if/when necessary additional drive.
