New Windows Mobile 8 will not recognize Ipod touch

I go to a PC from a Mac.  My new laptop (bought Jan 11) runs under windows 8.  The computer does not recognize my ipod touch (4th generation).

When I plug it I get: "USB device not recognized. The last USB device that you connected to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. »

I tried on windows phone 7 my husband and got the same error.

My ipod has never been used on a PC.

I downloaded & installed iTunes successfully on 12 Jan.

Problem solved with a new cable!  Plugged in and works perfectly.  Phew!

  • Windows Media Center will not recognize TV tuner Digital stations live

I am trying to display and record all my content from TV on my laptop using my hybrid analog/digital TV tuner card. So far, the WMC recognizes the analog content. But my cable provider provides many channels of ClearQAM I can see on my TV without a decoder, just using the QAM tuner in the TV. My tuner card is supposed to recognize the QAM signals, so I should be able to view all unencrypted content (users) that comes through the coaxial feeder on my portable tuner. But no luck so far. When I set up the TV signal in WMC, the menu only listed setup analog cable my cable box, even though I know that my cable company provides digital content.
I had actually upgraded my Windows Media Center to include the TV pack (downloaded from Engadget) but even this last version does not recognize digital channels. If I try to change the Program Guide and add them manually, all I get is static when I select the. I am at a loss to know what to do next. Is this a problem that should fix a new TV tuner? I heard good things about the AverMedia card, maybe I should just go that route? Can anyone recommend a new tuner card?

  • Windows 8 will not detect iPod Touch 2 generation

    Hello!

My problem is I have an iPod Touch 2 gen and when I plug in windows cannot detect it. If I go to post work is not in the list, or if I go to Device Manager, it is still not detected not even in portable devices or controllers Bus USB, but the iPod is charging. It happened after a restored building and now I need to connect it to iTunes, but it does not work. I tried with Windows 7, 8 and 10, and I don't know what to do at the moment. My 5s iPhone works fine with the same computers.

    Please help me, thank you

    Greta

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that the iPod Touch 2 connects not with Windows 7, 8 or 10 and I will be happy to answer your query. Let me ask you;

    • IPod Touch 2 appears in iTunes?
    • You receive an error message?

This could be due to problem of incompatibility with iTunes. Given that iPhone 5s connects without any problems, you can refer to the suggestions provided by Apple in the link below.

iPod touch not appearing is not in iTunes

If the problem persists, I would ask that you check with Apple support.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • The new smartphone blackBerry curve will not recognize battery :(

I just got a Curve 8520 by mail. It did not come with a battery or anything because it's a replacement. So, I take the battery (100% load) on my Pearl Flip and put it in the curve. The red LED lights up for a few seconds, then it shows a picture of a battery with a red bar across it. What's wrong? The number at the front of the battery C - M2... It has a yellow label. What should I do to get my new phone to work? Also, my Desktop Manager (and PC) do not recognize it at all.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Windows 7 Setup will not recognize SSD

I just built a new computer and I want to install 64-bit Windows 7 Professional on an Intel X - 25 M SSD 80 GB.  I do a fresh install on a new drive.  When I arrive at point in the installation of Windows 7 that asks you which drive I want to install the OS on, it does not show the Intel X - 25 M.  It will show my other drives, however.  If I unplug the other drives, it shows just a blank window instead of show the Intel X - 25 M.  I get a message saying that it could not find a valid signed driver.  I bought the retail version of the SSD, not an OEM.

I use a card mother Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 and an Intel i920 CPU.  The BIOS of the motherboard has no problem detection and identification of the X - 25 M.  I have the X - 25 M configured as an IDE.  I updated the firmware of the SSD, but it did not help.

Windows 7 compatibility page shows no problem of compatibility with the X - 25 M, but apparently it needs a signed driver, and I don't know how to get a.

    Any suggestions?

It shows the SSD at all? I would check to see that it is indeed to be picked up by the BIOS, and if not, check the cables.
Sometimes, the Windows installation can chuck a fit when it detects a disk with a sector of boot/MBR not valid and won't install it. To resolve this problem, you can try the following
    1. start Windows 7 disc.
    2. when the Welcome screen is displayed on the Windows installation, press SHIFT + F10, which will display a command prompt.
3 type 'diskpart' (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
4 Type "list disk" and press ENTER.
    5. If all goes well, you can see your SSD in the list. You should see a number identifier. Now type "select disk X" (where X is the number of your SSD) and press ENTER.
    6. type 'clean' and press ENTER. He will write an empty MBR, YOU WILL LOSE ANY DATA ON THE SSD if you had anything on it.
I hope that one of these tips helps you:

No need to apologize. I fight with this stuff all the time - it is sometimes easier to just go home and do the work from there that it is an attempt to explain the sysadmin that recent action by group policy took the rights to install the fonts from my special local administrator account. • Historical files Windows 8 will not recognize the new external hard drive

I just bought a new laptop (Sony Vaio) with Windows 8Pro (System op 64-bit, Intel I7, 1THD).  One of the reasons is that I have approached Win8, is I liked the concept of the new 'File History' backup utility  I started to use the computer with an ext WD My Guide of the HD and the history of the files seemed to work.  Then the drive external hard went wrong and I just bought a new WD My Passport 2 t ext HD.  Historical files will not recognize this drive.  He keeps asking the old drive.  When I attached the new drive and go to the screen "Select drive", it says "no usable drives are detected.  Please connect a drive... "I know that the drive is there because I see under 'My computer' and I can copy files to it.  But the history of the files do not recognize.  WD, I called and they helped me to update drivers and even made a update firmware on the drive, but nothing is done.  I tried several fixes suggested in a few links Microsoft 'how file history works... '. «, «What to do if the file history works more...» ", etc, but all without success. The tech also remote BestBuy Geek squad my computer and tried EVERYTHING and could not get it to succeed.  BTW, it's not the HD post because put us on another computer to WIN 8 and Hx file found immediately.  Tech people thought that it was a deep registry with Win 8 problem and their only suggestion was to reimage my computer with the original recovery disk.  But who is going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I'm not very tech savvy, so I know there must be something very simple, I'm do wrong or overlooking and I hope that some dear soul on this forum or someone from Microsoft can give me an idea or two.  Thank you very much

I was having this same problem, but then noticed a presentation text easy to miss in the historical files tool that says that the disc "cannot be a part of a library" or something like that. In my case, I had files on my external hard drive that have been included in several libraries... and none that I really used, so I removed the files (and deleted the libraries for good measure). A fast system restart later, and my player does not appear.

I don't know why MS did not propose it again for this thread as the more obvious thing to check, but there you have it. Something simple and quick to check that could save you some frustration.

  • Windows 7 will not recognize driver for HP Scanjet 5370c scanner

I was not able to get Windows 7 to recognize the driver for my HP Scanjet scanner on my new HP Pavilion Elite a9200z desktop computer.  I tried to install the original driver delivered with the software that not only failed, but it was necessary to do a system restore to an earlier date.  After downloading the software update and the driver on the HP website (for the XP operating system. (No), the software successfully installed but Device Manager said there is no driver installed.  I tried Udating driver in Device Manager, but none were found on the system.  I'm afraid that because the driver is not signed by HP, this is perhaps the reason that the system will not recognize it.  I do not receive a message about the driver being made and has been disabled.

Where would the driver have been installed under Windows and what would be the name of the file?  Is it possible to install a driver that has not been signed on Windows 7, even though I know that it comes directly from the manufacturer.  I came on this forum that says HP email support is no longer in effect for this scanner.  Scanner was working fine under Windows XP.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Thank you for your response.  I posted the same question to the Board of Directors Microsoft as well.  One of the technicians gave me a link to a website that has software in support of scanners which pilots the manufacturer has not, for some reason, took worth to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7.  I installed Vuescan driver bundled with the program which works perfectly, and my scanner HP Scanjet scanner 5370c is upward and great in Windows 7.  They have a list of more than 100 scanners supported by the program.  So, anyone interested should check the list before you buy the program.  No, the program is not free, but it is much cheaper ($39.95) that pitching on a scanner perfectly ideal of work and having to buy a new one.    Anyway, if anyone is interested in the possibility of using their scanner ' is no longer supported "with Windows 7, the website below might help.

    Problem solved!

Went to: start == > Control Panel == > troubleshooting == > view all == > and ran troubleshooting on the library and the settings of WMP.

Convenience store detected library corrupt and "in media files appear in the WMP library.  Then ran convenience store on WMP settings which reset OMP to default settings.  After that, everything worked as announced.

Thanks to Big_Dave for putting me on the right track.
