New wireless printer will not see my router wireless/network

I have checked the other posts, but their issues are a little different from mine.  I just bought a new wireless printer.  I got Samsung remote in, and no matter what they or I did, nothing worked.  We have installed drivers & everything, and my wireless network will not be displayed in the list of available networks.  I have my router sitting 2 feet of the printer & my laptop.  I know it works because I use my wireless laptop at the same time.  We tried to enter the settings manually & automatically & my network will not be displayed.  I use Windows 7 with the Avira software with an active firewall on my home network.   I have tried for a week now and I'm ready to return the printer.  Help, please.  Here are the parameters that you can request.  The only thing I can think is that I asked to be assigned and IP address because I do not know how to get the real.  Thanks in advance

Manual settings entered: (from my home network properties in Control Panel)

(the exact name of my network)

Security type: no authentication (open)

encryption type: WEP (even if the drop-down list in the printer software makes me choose wep64 or 32

Security: wep

security key: (I get)

key index: 1

To get it back to where I needed either from me has it taken about 2 months - reinstall all the programs, implemented my toolbars desktop, special etc. It's a chore because I do transcription work and have several versions of Office & I need to do something special for the transplants I don't get this error message because I have more than one version, etc.

If you can afford it (not very expensive), buy an external USB drive enclosure and a hard drive at least as large as your installed hard drive.  Once you get your system as you wish, create a complete image of the disk and save it to the external hard drive.  Sometimes, if you buy a player and a box together, software disk imaging and cloning is included.  Otherwise, there is some disc perfectly adequate cloning/imaging programs available.

If you get a large enough external drive, you can use it to make an image of such system which just after getting properly put things in place and make then one or more periodic images to use as backups.

If you clone rather than image, then you can just swap the current drive for the clone.  It is more useful as a backup in case your installation disc breaks down.  As a general rule, images can be restored from the backup disk or from the software installed on your computer or by using a CD bootable you create using the same backup software.

I highly recommend you get one of the following options (or any other similar software you can find) and make backups.

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

Acronis True Image Home
EASEUS ToDo Backup
Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal
Casper
XXClone

Macrium Reflect free

  • PC will not 'see' Mac on the network wireless

I just installed a Linksys WRT54G Router, and created a home network, which includes free Wi - Fi for my MacBook Pro.  The ethernet connected PC does not 'see' the Mac.  I know they are connected from the Mac can access the internet and can see files in folder on my part that I installed on the PC (after I have provide the password).  I'm running VISTA on the PC.  The network is set up in a private capacity.  In the "Network and sharing" screens on the PC, the network discovery and file sharing are on.  I checked with my internet provider to ensure that their safety programs are not the issue and found that starting the PC in safe mode doesn't change anything.  The card network and sharing or full view map only shows the PC, the name of the network and the internet.  It never shows the Mac well that the Mac indicates the network name as its connection.  Can anyone help or is it a problem that can be a gazillion things?

  • My printer will not be connected to the network

I found a few options in the Advanced menu of the printer which can be useful for various network connectivity problems that are often overlooked.

The provided screenshots are for a printer Envy 110 and an Officejet 6500 printer has, but many models in the same range of products have similar features.

For starters, get the IP address of your printer and load the printer in a web browser by entering the IP address as a web address.

Once it loads, you can get something similar to one of the screens below:

New Photosmart printer or Envy series:

To access this screen, navigate to network > advanced.

OfficeJet series printer or older photosmart printer:

To access this screen, navigate to network > advanced.

There are a few options on this screen below that are of interest.  The photosmart screen has a 802 use behavior. 11b network infrastructure and use an infrastructure network 802. 11b / g behavior options.  The first option will tell the printer to only operate in B wireless settings and second options tells operate with wireless B and G parameters.

Most routers are set to mixed mode which is B and G.  The second activation option can help maintain the wireless connection and is certainly worth trying to help eliminate some of the problems network there.

The Officejet screen has another option which is not available on each printer: in a network ad hoc Act bound even if others are not present.  Activate this option, if any, can help keep the printer stay connected.  Curiously, I've seen a few posts that this setting has helped with an infrastructure facility despite what says the setting.

I hope that this information will help you to solve and prevent some network problems.

    Hello Dzuco,

Thank you for your message.  You will need get a driver xp for printer/plotter.  Pilots are produced by the manufacturer and are usually downloaded from their Web site, however, I can't seem to find anything online to JRL Systems.  I recommend you contact JRL systems for the suitable driver for your printer.  You also have the option to search the Web for 'plotter jrl systems printer driver.  Don't forget that some 3rd party software can contain viruses and malware, so take precautions by downloading and installing the 3rd party software.

  • HP deskjet 2540: HP 2540 printer will not connect to new router

Hi, we just changed internet service providers and the printer will not connect to the new router, our HP laptop computer presents the printer in the list of network devices / wireless, but will not accept the password of network to the router when I ask him to connect. Makes me crazy! I have re-installed software etc. to connect the drive and make me anywhere I hope someone can help!

    Dave.

Replacement/change your wireless router, try here.

    http://www.HP.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-Help3.html

Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try channel 1 first and then the other one at a time.  Make sure that the printer and the router are spaced at least 5 feet.

However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a: printer will not connect to the wireless network.

I got this HP printer for a while and it worked fine.  Our old router is out and we had to get a new one.  Installed perfectly and printer continued to work properly.  The password for the router was ridiculous, that's why I changed it to something much more simple to remember.  Since then, my printer will not connect to wireless internet.  I have a ~ and reinstalled the printer but still have the same problem.  I thought maybe to try the former password would, but who does not work either.

Anyone has any ideas that might help before chuck it and go and get a new one altogether?

    Thank you.

Easy things first.  Turn off the router and the printer.  Turn on the router and wait 3 minutes.  Turn on the printer and see if it connects to your router.  Status?

If no joy, temporarily disable all security in the router.  Now try to connect the printer to your SSID not guaranteed without password.  Status now?

If OK, go back and add WPA2-AES with your simple password.  Status now?

  • HP b209a printer range will not connect to router comcast using the WPS button

HP b209a printer range will not connect to router comcast using the WPS button. I try to use a new Comcast router (technicolor TC8305C). When I try to connect the printer times out and says that no connections are when I check for wireless connections. Yet, when I print the network configuration page, the SSID for the new router is at the top of the list. I reinstalled the software by the support of Comcast, but it did not help.  I'm ideas please help!

Never use WPS to connect.  If done it should be disabled in the router for security reasons.  Connect manually via the SSID and password following the instructions in the manual.

  • According to the set printer wizard, my new printer software has been installed, but the printer will not appear on the section 'printers and faxes '.

You have a printer again, with installation CD. According to the set printer wizard, my new printer software has been installed, but the printer will not appear on the "printers and faxes" section in Control Panel. Model of printer - Epson XP-200.  Have a Dell, Windows XP.  Help!  Not even sure who to ask...

What version of XP (Home, Pro, Media Center) and service pack (none, 1, 2, 3)?

Printers and faxes is totally blank?

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following in the black command prompt window and press enter
    spooler request SC

You should see something like this:
    Service_Name: Spooler
    TYPE: 110 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS (interactive)
    STATE: 4 RUNNING
    (STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, IGNORES_SHUTDOWN
    WIN32_EXIT_CODE: 0 (0X0)
    SERVICE_EXIT_CODE: 0 (0X0)
    CHECKPOINT: 0X0
    WAIT_HINT: 0X0

What is the 'State' displayed for you?

Open the Services applet (start > run > services.msc > OK) and scroll down to "print spooler".  The status should be started and the Startup Type should be automatic.  What are the parameters of your correspondents?  If your print spooler is stopped, you can try to launch it by clicking on the link, but I suspect that it stops again.  Please report the results of your efforts.

  • My new printer will not print on my Quicken reconcile report. It prints my program Word and e-mail very well.

My new printer will not print on my Quicken reconcile report.  It prints my program Word and e-mail very well

If I understand correctly your new printer (brand and model, please) is properly installed on your computer (version of Windows and the service pack, please), but does not print Quicken (version, please) reconciliation report.

Without more information (such as an error message or description of what happens when you try to print), it sounds like all you need to do is to set up Quicken to use the new printer.  The following is for 2011 Quicken, but should be the same or similar for all recent versions of Quicken:

Click file > printer setup > for reports/charts
In the window that opens, select your new printer using the drop-down list.  You should keep the default margins and fonts.  Click OK and you should be good to go.
