  I design the 2011 Version of LabView to test solid state device and need to create test data after this unit tested.

  Questions: Do I need to install LabView Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office on my computer? If Yes, what is the LabView Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office Version. Where can I find this software?. I use Labview 2011, Windows 7, MS 2013 in the computer.

  I tried to build my programs with the application designer, application exe builded unluckly has no work well as before, I checked some similar post of this forum and added that NIReprot.llb in my project and rebuild, the problem is always held, my program add some text, tables and graphics in a word template with this report generation tools , but it always gives error 7 and ' NI_Word.lvclass: new report subVI.vi--> NI_report.lvclass:New Report.vi--> Report.vi new Creat->...' error information.

  is there anyone can give me some clues on this annoying problem.

  Suggest you take the simple test vi and start adding all the features of your original application.  It accumulates in the stages and test at each stage.  I hope this helps you identify the problem.

• Report generation Exe error

  I use LV 8.6.1 with report generation tool 1.13 and I'm having problems to make my exe built to work.  I try to open an excel template and fill it with new data.  I broke the vi downwards to open just excel - open the template and then fill out some data.  But at this point excel opens not at all.  And of course, everything works fine in the development environment.

  Member not found in NI_ReportgenerationToolkit.lvlib:

  Excel_open_workbook.VI

  NI_Excel.lvclass: new reportsubvi.vi

  I read a few pages of help that says Add LVclass and \vi.lib\utility\NIreport.llb directories in project folder and add them to the always include section of the build.  But no luck so far.

  Aside: the machine I want to use it on a 8.6.1 full which does not have the extra excel functions available my developer.  Is it possible to install the DEV report generation tool in the full version?  Then I wouldn't need to build an exe file.

  UPDATE: I just tried the exe on another computer that has a suite of Developer installed and it worked fine.  So I guess I need to know what I need to add to the building to make it work.

  Make versions of Excel are the same?

  Microsfoft has improved the ActiveX interface for each version so that the old instance didn't connect.

• LV 2011 report Generation Toolkit Constantly calls for 8.6.1 CD

  I'm having a strange problem.

  Its a little intermittent, so I'll try my best to explain when it occurs.

  -If I do a new project and run something the report generation tool, I get an installer of labview 8.6.1. I'm under Labview 2011 and I had never installed 8.6.1 on this computer. He will spend about 3 minutes install something, then ask for a CD of labview 8.6.1.

  -If I hit Cancel it disappears for the project until I restart the computer. In fact, should not be the CD, it asks just for her. The VI containing the Subvi report runs very well, but if I open one of the front panels I get message Setup again.

  -If I ran something that uses the report generation tool earlier in this session of connection I do not encounter the bug.

  -Restart labview does not appear, only the computer restarts

  

  There are classes in the GTA that are loaded dynamically.  You must include the screws in your construction.

  We have found that you must add the following two folders to your project and then force them to be in your EXE version.

  \vi.lib\Utility\LVClass

  \vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.LLB

  I tried to build a .exe and learned the hard way that there are a lot of things had to be included to make this work.  As it is now my program does not work.

  I wanted to get a list of the steps needed to make a successful build.  Please correct me if I'm wrong or missing something:

  1. for report generation tool, I include some files support (_exclsub.llb and _wordsub.llb)

  2. for database connectivity: I had to follow the user's guide of OR by implementing the generation of script function to tools?  Is there an easier way?

  If there are no more simple ways to get this working please let me know.

  Yes, I have the runtime installed.  I had also the program works correctly by following these steps:

  --> LV 8.6 and higher

  1 added two files to the project in the Project Explorer menu.

  a. file utilities

  b. record of LVClass

  2. during the build of .exe I had to:

  a. Add a folder of LVClass to always include in the source file settings

  b. navigate to the Utilities folder NIReportLLB folder and add that always include as indicated more high (Note: If you add all the utilities folder you will get an error vi broke during construction, even if set you the vi it does still not work for me so I just included the file I need to word/excel)

  has took about a day to troubleshoot and fix, but the program works as expected.  Hope this helps someone else in the future.

• Save the report that VI of report generation toolkit is broken

  Hi all

  I created a journal vi data, using report generation tools. He works first and then I copied the vi to another folder and tried to run but ended up with a broken vi.  The error occurs in the Save report vi of report generation package.   Please see vi and captures screen attached. I'm sure that if you run the vi, it might work on your machine, but will not work on mine. That's why I find it cable. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before?

  I spoke with an application OR engineer and we have tried to compile mass of Labview on the particular folder containing the VI.

  Tools---> Advanced---> massive compilation.  This corrects the problem.

• Report Generation Toolkit makes Excel Flash annoyingly

  When I use the report generation tool, I have inserted some graphs of my data in the report. If I start with the 'normal' Excel window the user can see each data item such that he is put in Excel. If I start with the window "minimized" Excel then they see the excel application open and reducing to a minimum and then return to the task bar repeatedly.

  Is there a way to generate the report as a whole unless the user to see things being added to the report? I just want what they see the report 'final product '.

  Suppose I have create a new excel report today and close the program, tomorrow I open the same program and instead of creating a new excel file, I need to update the test results data in the excel file that was created yesterday, is - it possible.

  I'm confused because there is no option called report open in report generation tool, there just create report option.

  Probably NOT the guy can work on that... Sorry if this is a; existing Eja?

  Is there a method to open an existing report?

  You can use the VI 'New report' with all entry level models as the path to the report on the disk, and then use "Excel Get Data" for a set of data in the report.

• Set the position of the cursor in the text added (to make the part of the text in index) in WORD using Report Generation Toolkit

  I would like to generate a report in WORD using the report generation toolkit.

  Whenever a text is added to the report, the program should put part of the text index. The problem I am facing with is to set the cursor position in the current location of the text.

  I think that's what you wanted (see attachment).

  First, you must set position for each loop, so after adding the table, your cursor index need to increase the number of added characters. That's why I have included the text of the report, Append - to get the position of the cursor at the end.

  Indexing begins with 0, so you need to set the 3 and 7.

• VI LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit elements in a TestStand sequence does not work with a LabVIEW 8.5 run-time engine

  I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.1 and TestStand 4.1. I did a sequence TestStand with a VI in this document, which uses items Report Generation Toolkit. On my machine I use LabVIEW and TestStand development system license. On another machine I use TestStand with basic deployment license and I chose the LabVIEW 8.5 run-time engine in the Configuration of the adapter. Everything works well except this VI with elements of Report Generation Toolkit. The error message shows that the VI is not executable. It works well only after I installed with a trial license and selected LabVIEW LabVIEW 8.5 development system in the Configuration of the adapter.

  I found other posts and a document in the knowledge base with a similar problem: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8A0E6274D9BD7B1986256F62006AD402?OpenDocument but I am not no EXE files in my sequence, so I do not know how to fix mine. Someone has an idea?

  
  

• Report Generation Toolkit Table Row height-MS Word

  I have a problem affecting the height of table row in the report generation tool. I can set the width of the thin columns, but line height seems to remain the same, no matter what I put it. I have attached the VI that generates and formats the table and print it's catchy. I've also attached the template file that I use.

  Advice for it to work well? I'm doing the cells exactly the same height as the text inside.

  So I essaye.2 and it did not work.  So I went to Word to change it manually, and it doesn't work anymore.  There is a selection box in word, for the properties of the table, which appears as default value 'at least'.  When I have it changed manually on 'exactly' in word, no problem with le.2 manually in Word.

  I hope that this can be set in the model, for all new tables inserted.  I don't know that the generator report VI sets this property.  Well, that's a start for the question.

  You can go in the table add VI and expose the property.  See photo.   However, you must decide if you want to 'upgrade' this VI to expose this property or make a copy with the exposed property at all times.   I not messed with new reports of class too, so not sure of ins and outs with that.

  I think that's the problem with the line size becomes smaller.

  I'm looking to download the 2010 labview report generation tool. When I proceed to download the Toolkit on the site of the national instrumnets, it says that I need LabVIEW 2011 or later in order to install it.

  Is there a version of this for labview report generation 2010 toollkit and can anyone provide a link maybe?

• Excel graph legend formatting - report generation tool

  I am currently using the Labview 11 report generation tool and do not understand how to change the font for the legend of a chart properties. This is a screenshot of an exit from the attached example.

  Help file for the Font.vi graphic Excel said it should be able to change the caption, but I can't seem to understand how to configure it to do so. If anyone can guide me through the steps or tell me what I'm missing, I would be very happy.

  If I disable the comma localized for this VI, do you think I'll be able to use it as a Subvi without changing the decimal separator of the VI calling parameters?

  My Excel also prefers with a floating point numbers, but I do not understand why numbers lower than that will not be treated as numbers right away?

  Unfortunately the position of the decimal point is global, so call VI is affected, too.

  But there are other possible solutions: you can convert your double array in an array of strings. Conversion functions 'number in string' to disable the explicitly localized comma:

  

  Now, you can add text to your report.

  Your excel seems to interpret "," so that thousands separator and '.' as the decimal separator, so the incorrect number conversion. It seems a little odd since you say he prefers ',' as the decimal separator... There may be something to do with the office report generation tool.
