No access to the Tecra A5 Bios after Bios Update

After updating the bios of my tecra A5 to v.2.0 is not possible to access the bios more. Any key I press (F2, F4, F8, DEL, ESC etc.) after 2 seconds, the system will boot from the hard drive. It is a bit freightening although Windows seems to work very well.
Any ideas what could have happened here?

Thanks in advance!

G_Domi

Hello

F2 should work at the entrance of the BIOS on the Tecra M5.
You must press the F2 key immediately after the unit from.

    3. I restart the laptop
    4. I get error BIOS checksum with suggesstion press f2 for bios Setup or f12 for load default settings
    5. I try to press f2 and get dialogue with password request.

How can I solve my problem?

PS. I'm not configure pasword for laptop before. Pwd and pwd startup BIOS was empty.

Hey man, I don't know what the problem is here, but BIOS password can be removed by only authorized service. He wants the costs you a little, but it can be removed without any problem. On the OS, I'm afraid, you have to install it again.

BTW: some USB flash drives are password. If you want to have access to the recorded data you must enter the password first. Your key USB also has password protection?

  • Tecra S5: Bios updated - cannot change page in the BIOS

I have improved my Tecra S5 BIOS to version 2.0. But when I enter the BIOS, I can only change properties on the first page PGUP PGDN keys, for change of page does not work for me. Everyone knows the same behavior?

There is a game of the bios supervisor password.
Turn on the laptop with the INS key. Now you can enter the supervisor password, and you will get the full bios.
You can change/clear the password and the policy settings using the password of Toshiba.

  • Access to the Windows 7 domain after setting using cached credentials to connect

Scenario: A road warrior must first connect using the updated Windows 7 laptop cached domain credentials in order to activate a connection wireless, click VPN access to the network. Some programs do not run, because the user has apparently must be validated on the domain controller. I was just curious about in regards to if there is no interaction between the domain controller and the local computer AFTER a field connection becomes available when a user is connected through the VPN. If so, it would allow a user to run a program or a script after obtaining a connection to domain has been validated and the user would have access to some network resources that are available only to a domain user. Otherwise, the other workarounds are necessary, such as the start feature before opening of session of Cisco. An overview of all of this is very much appreciated.

  • Tecra 8000 BIOS update

Help... my first visit on this forum looking for a kindly soul to out me of trouble. My wife has a Tecra 8000 (European version) with P2 400 mhz. To start, she "prepares for the BIOS update". I managed to find what seems to me to be good download on this site, the 'traditional' version for computers that do not run on 500 mhz or higher? Only problem is that I know this must be installed through FDD we have with the laptop, but we have no way to open the file on disk. Neither our computers from home or at work have a floppy drive to open and copy the downloaded file. We were wondering if anyone has a copy, or access to a floppy drive to produce a copy and send it to us? We would be more than happy incurred to help us.

    Hello Brian

Please check this page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?service=EU&from=faq_selection&CFID=BIOS&FI D = TRO0000000b07. It is described how you can create the BIOS update disk, and the correct procedure of updating the BIOS for your laptop model.

It is not complicated. I'm sure you can do it alone.

    Good luck!

  • Tecra M11 - BIOS update error

Hi, initially, I'm sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Germany...
My Tecra M11 motherboard has been replaced by Toshiba. After that, I can't update the BIOS
I fill the SN of my M11 and downloadet the latest Version of the Toshiba homepage.

But when I install the Package from the BIOS, there always was the same Message: "this computer is not supported.
Is the person who can help me :)

    Lars cordially

    Hey,.

What operating system you use and that you have installed the package of added value? Latter is necessary if you want to make a BIOS update.

But theoretically the DMI information could miss after replacing the motherboard. It must be written from an authorized service provider

But why you want to update the BIOS? You have problems?

  • Tecra 8100: bios update of cd. exe does not command line

I want to update the bios of my Tecra 8100.
I downloaded the bios, but the pc has no floppy, I cooked up a cd bootable like this

When I start the pc, F2, press c to boot from the CD-ROM, I get in a dos environment. I went to the drive Z, "dir" and see the bios.exe that I've burned to cd. To run it I type bios.exe and continue to be 'command unrecognized file name' when I type dir *.exe, he does not see the file either.

    Hello

Your described method does not apply to Toshiba laptops.
Each computer laptop manufacturers supports various BIOS update procedures

    Toshiba on this page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?soID=356848&PF=true
Here you can download the latest version of the BIOS for Tecra 8100

The 4810.25 package must be unpacked everything first.
Then you should check the files available.
There is a readme.txt file that describes how to update BIOS using the ISO to CD.

    I hope I could help

  • Problem of Tecra M5 BIOS update

I downloaded the file from the Toshiba site and now have P003Fv370.exe. Race that happens just with "update of the BIOS is not supported OS, unsupported operating system or service pack is installed". I was under the impression that it was independent BONES? Please help, I need to update to stop it crashing and blue screening me every half hour. I have already installed the value-added package.

    I have a Toshiba Tecra M5 PTM51E
    Running Windows 7 Enterprise
Current installed BIOS is version 1.70

I also read somewhere on the installation with a USB key, if someone could help I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Just tried again and it says "Could not create"C:\TOSHBIOS. " UPD file! "I don't know what is happening more.

    Hello

    The P003Fv370.exe is a package.
Right click on that package and select unpack here.
Now you should see the other folders inside this .exe package.

From my knowledge, it takes a file that starts the BIOS update.

If it won't work, I guess you need the original preinstalled system Toshiba update BIOS.
The other hand I n t think that BSOD appears due to the old version of the BIOS.
I guess that the update does not solve the problem.

Maybe the BSOD appears due to a problem of critical software or hardware issues so would be really interesting to know if the same thing happens with the help of preinstalled Toshiba system

  • Re: Tecra M9 bios update without windows

    I have a Tecra M9 runs only [Opensolaris 2009.06 | http://opensolaris.org/os/downloads/] on this subject.
Is it possible to do a Bios Update (acutally I have 1.50)

Is there an ISO image or back - tools so I can create my own ISO image...

    Thank you
    GerryH

    Hello

I doubt you'd be able to update the BIOS on the Opensolaris OS.

The Toshiba page provides only focused on the victory of the BIOS, which means that you need to install windows to update the BIOS.

The traditional BIOS version allowing you to update the BIOS by using the USB disk is not available for download.

I think that only FSA (authorized service providers) availability to perform a BIOS update using the diskette.

  • Tecra S3: BIOS update for Vista

I have a laptop Tecra S3 and I tried to install vista but it says I have to update my BIOS. Well, I already have the latest version (v1.3) and no vista support.

    Thank you

    Hello eddie

There are not a lot to say. If your device has sticker Vista capable Toshiba will support them to upgrade to Vista. When not I Don t believe you will find Vista BIOS update in the future.

Also, my Satellite M70 is not Vista capable, but I'm really lucky and have preinstalled Vista on the second partition.

  • Tecra M5 Bios Update 1.7: where can I find information?

    Thank you very much

    Hello David

Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you and say that you will not be able to find this document. But it is possible that this problem is solved with the new BIOS update. Be careful with BIOS updates and read the BIOS update description prior to treatment.

  • Tecra M4 - BIOS update fails

I'm updating my M4 with the Toshiba BIOS provided for support of Windows Vista. It can be found here: http://www.csdsupport.toshiba.com/tais/csd/support/windows_vista/vista_beta.cgi?lsAction=list_files&model_id=1

However, the update process fails. I can unzip the file downloaded to a file, but then fails it to process with a generic-looking message "install2 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

My M4 is currently leading the BIOS version 1.70, 14/02/2006.

Any ideas? Maybe is there a way I can do an update of the traditional BIOS with the new file?

Be careful with the BIOS updates. I put t know where you bought your Tecra but you try to install the update BIOS, designed for the laptop models in the United States.

If you have European mobile phone use just updates BIOS you will find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

  • Tecra M5 Bios update it's illegal

Current bios version of my M5 is 1.20. I tried the update 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6. Each update, says that it is an illegal update for this machine and it will not be installed. If someone had a similar problem and know a work around?

    Thanks in advance.

    HEY Joe,

According to the Toshiba web site the last BIOS available for the Tecra M5 (model PTM50) is version 1.20, and for model PTM51, it is version 1.60. Both versions are dated dated September 15, 2006 are therefore quite new.

It is unlikely that you will be able to use a BIOS from other sources, since he must be specific to the model of laptop you have.

Moreover, the two versions of the BIOS are available in traditional formats and Windows.

    Kind regards
