No audio MPG

Hello

I work on a project of Prem 11 items for a friend and saved it on a USB key in format MPG so she discovers and approve before I have burn on a DVD.

On my PC Win 10, the MPG file plays with VLC and Windows Media Player. There is no problem with the video or audio.

She also win 10 and can play the MPG file, but there is no audio data (I don't have access to his laptop until tomorrow afternoon, so I can't solve all the problems Windows can have with its sound/audio).

It can, however, play movie files (sound and audio) that she has downloaded from the Internet without problem.

Why she might not be able to play my MPG movie, please?

Thank you.

I have Windows 7 Home and Media Player 12.  I also supplement players [Media Monkey among them].  When I try to play a video with audio in Media Player, I get my usual great video, but all I get is machine chatter on the audio track.  I watched the audio on NERO and it is there; I can play the audio and video in ONE of my other players and get sound and video.  Why Media Player will play the audio?  I've never had this problem before.

I don't know what else to watch to see what happens.

What you found is already good enough for a search engine, I tried: 'windows media player' audio MPG (on a single line) and there are various visits, including 316992 KB http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/316992 at this point, I'm lost, allegedly WMP12 can handle MP2 (the predecessor of MP3 used with MPEG2), and of course, he could also handle audio gross (as WAV) If that's what you have.

  • How to get Windows 8 to be able to play MPG or MPEG-2 video files?

I just bought a Lenovo ThinkPad 2 with Windows 8 (not Pro).  I love the Tablet - this is really a replacement upgraded for the iPad!

My problem is that I record videos on a Sony camcorder and they are recorded as MPG files.  When I click on the file to watch on the ThinkPad, the audio but there is no video.
Temporarily, I've downloaded a trial version of Cyberlink PowerDVD on the Lenovo site and this allows to play video clips with audio and video.  My question is what is the alternative to Microsoft for this?  I wonder if the upgrade to Windows Pro and download the Pack Windows 8 Media Center will allow me to see the MPEG-2 audio / MPG files?

    Hello

The short answer is Yes... except for the disks from DVD or files...

WMP 12 them will play is more due to licensing issues, but will be Media Center.

Activation of Media Center provide most of the codecs that he and Media Player will need.

A problem though... I don't think you can improve win 8 Pro with the promotion you are considering... It is my belief that you must buy the Windows 8 Pro Pack.

Whenever I have download all the MP3 files from any website, IE7 sees the file as an MP2 file so I then the inconvenience of having to select Save-> change the option "save under" to "All files" then add .mp3 at the end of the file which is a bit of a pain. • Movie Maker import my. MPG video with Audio only

    My OS: Vista Business 32-bit
    My Movie Maker: Version 6.0

I have a video file of 4.4 GB of a recent trip.  It's on my Motion LE1700 Tablet PC to the .mpg format.  If I click on the file, the video and audio both appear.

My problem: when I import into Movie Maker (by clicking on 'Videos' under 'Import' to the left of the screen) if I can edit and publish later, the properties end up the show as an audio file under 'source '.  It only allows me to drop - drag the file into the audio part of the timeline, and I can't see the video when I play (I can hear the audio).

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

Movie Maker has problems of compatibility with the MPEG files...
It may be interesting to try to convert the MPEG for the WMV file
format before you import into Movie Maker.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup260.zip<>

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup260.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

  • Window Movie Maker will import my .mpg file, but will not play audio.

I used Windows Movie Maker 2.6, Vista and Live for many years and I've always been able to convert my files to .wmv with ease. My old computer recently crashed and I reinstalled the program and codec I had on my new machine.

A week ago, I was import and conversion of some files to .mpg without problem what-so-ever, but when I import my .mpg files now, I receive one of the following scenarios:
    (1) ".mpg is an empty file." (2.6)
    (2) the video works fine, but there is no audio data. Yet, if I play in Windows Media Player or any other program, I get the audio without problem. (Vista and Live)
    (3) I also run Magix Movie Edit Pro 15, but when it exports to .wmv, the video is distorted / restless (even with the anti-flicker filter on).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my codecs several times, went to the compatibility of the Menus and tried to post the video to see if the audio could have a defect in playback of the program, but without success.

  • Remove the scratch audio from. MPG file

I have a file MPEG2 of the videographer with a stereo scratch 192 kHz Dolby Digital AC3 audio stream saved to the camera.  I have a new track audio file of Dolby Digital AC3 5.1 48 kHz 48 kHz, mixed to a multitrack recording was recorded in genlock with video.

I have created a project Encore CS5.1, adding video to the timeline, removed the audio track and put the new track surround audio replacement.

I've done this several projects before, but do turn a problem with this one because of the length of the video.   The project checklist yet complains that the project is too big for a 4.7 GB DVD without transcoding, however it would fit if the MPEG2 file was not the audio of unwanted follow embedded inside.

I really don't want to put the video through a new generation of transcoding.  Is there a way I can strip the audio from the MPEG2 without transcoding it AND replace the. Active MPG in the project again?  Or is it possible to replace the AC3 stream in the. MPG file with version 5.1 to produce an asset with which still accept as a replacement?

My desktop is Windows 7 x 64.   I tried using Avidemux 2.6 and still complained that the replacement was not of the same type; It's a moot point anyway because Avidemux has done a poor job of syncing the audio integrated video.

If I understand correctly what you describe, you cannot replace the file mpg as the asset unless it's another mpeg file. You need to demux the original, put the m2v to this process as the asset and create your project. Then add the 5.1 audio to this timeline.

Video file as audio HELP import MPG!

I'm using Premiere pro CS5 trial version. The videos I have are in format .mpg and play fine in other programs. When I import into first they import in the form of audio files.

    What I'm doing wrong!

You are doing nothing wrong. The trial version does no MPEG support. Fully-paid version has no such limitations and also comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you don't like, you can return it for a refund.

The limitations of the trial version are HERE.

  • Clips MPG (mpeg2) edited lose Audio - first Elements 8

I have 2 a mpg files recorded off TV.  When I put them in Elements 8.0 can I read them and the sound is fine.  However, after I edit them to length the sound disappears.  It looks like somehow when the video is changed to remove the audio track of length.  I'm editing in scene mode.  Any help would be appreciated.

It is possible that you do not give the file time to comply.

Open a new project in Premiere Elements. Make sure that on the new project screen, you go to settings and select one of the presets for a camcorder to HDD or Flash drive. Then put in one of your MPEGs.

Watch a progress downstairs bar to the right of the interface. Wait until what it has done in keeping your file before you place it on the timeline. Then see if this makes it possible to edit.

If this isn't the case, it seems that these files will not work with Premiere Elements. I'm sorry.

Maybe these movies support another format or standard.
As far as I know the audio and video formats supported are:

Audio files: MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, LPCM Dolby Digital, DTS Digital

    Video: MPEG1 (DAT, MPG), MPEG2 (VOB, MPG, TS/M2TS/TP TRP), MPEG4 (AVI, MP4, MKV), VC-1 (WMV), H.264 (AVI, MKV, MOV, MP4), RM/RMVB (RM/RMVB)

I put t know what files do you use, but I'm pretty sure there is no problem with the sound if you use watch original CD, DVD, music, listen on Winamp or watch videos on You Tube.

I also think that the sound problems are associated with audio codecs.
Tom's right. Test it with VLC player. In my experience, this player can play all video files, if they are not damaged somehow.

  • Movie maker, xp (sp3), makes part only audio video (but not images) for mpeg files.

With my computer, XP Sp3, I converted the files MOD ofJVC Everio HDD camera to MPG or MPEG using the software, SDcopy.

Media Player accepts these files to play movies very well, but Movie maker shows not all images, only the audio...

My other computer with the same operating system has no problem - but this Movie maker is a slightly older version.

I suspect that there are some differences of codec in both computers?

    Hello

    1. what happens when you transfer these convert to another computer? Play?
    2. converted the file has been correctly?
    3. do you get an error during the file playback?
    4. which media player you use to play the files?

    Method 1.
First check if you are able to read these files on another computer. If the problem occurs on a different computer too so I wouold recommend you to download the latest version of movie maker.

    Method 2.

  • Windows Movie Maker has stopped play mpg videos

    Hi all

I've been using Director windows for more than two years for my movie editing video canon. I always convert the canon film to video files .mpg, like this is done by one of the canon utility. After that, I import videos to movie maker window. All of a sudden I have seen I am unable to read the video portion. However, it plays the audio pat. It gives no error as well.

Please let me know what could be the possible reasons for this problem and how to solve this problem.

    Hello

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

    ·        Are you able to play the file formats using Director of windows?

Normally, something like that, the problem is resolved by downloading and reinstalling the latest Microsoft codec packs. Click on the link below.

    Windows Movie Maker

If the problem started recently then, I suggest do you a restore of the system to the point when the system worked very well and check.
