  Please provide more details - such as what exactly is the problem with Windows Update?  Work any or you have problems with only a few updates (and if so, what are the numbers KB)?  Can update you manually from the Microsoft Download issue KB site (assuming that you can get to the point where you can even see that)?  Is the problem with all forms of update or automatic updates?  When did start?  Is the only problem that you encounter using the Panel of configuration-Windows Update?

  The executable file for IE is called iexplore.exe.  You can click Start and then type iexplore in the search field.

  Microsoft has a tool to resolve this that should return the IE icon on the desktop - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945402. Under the fix for me article, there is a button, you must click called Microsoft Fix it.  Click run in the file download dialog box. Follow the steps in the Wizard icon on the desktop to display Internet Explorer to create an Internet Explorer desktop icon.

  They are not search engines. They are called browsers, and Yes you can use Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer on the same computer at the same time. You can also add Google Chrome and a few others without causing problems for your computer.

  Most people are after the use of these alternative browsers, that they no longer wish to continue using Internet Explorer.
