No Audio/Sound - Windows says that I have no hardware.
I use windows XP.
When restarting my computer after having downloaded a player function and quickplay i. I find that I have no sound at all. The speakers are plugged.
I tried to go to start > Control Panel > Audio and HiFi, it tells me that I have no hardwear.
I have avolume sound control icon anywhere on my screen more. It is!
Thank you, Jerry.
It is now restored.
I went through a whole bunch of forms.
A computer is not no expert, I could not tell you how I did it, but it seemed to come back after you have uninstalled programs that caused it in the first place!
I remove the alert.

When I try to update to Firefox, I get a window saying that it cannot be loaded because I don't have all the necessary permissions. What do this mean and what do I do?
If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop DMG
- Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
- Install the new version you downloaded
Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

"Windows services Centre" call by saying that I have a problem with my internal security system
Hello
I received a phone call from 'Windows Service Centre', James Henderson, employee of 406-235-1159, phone number #7098 (Yes, that's an indication 406 and 416 - which is one of the reasons why I'm suspicious), but gave a speech in Mississauga (Ontario), saying that I have a problem with my internal security system and even if www.ammyy.com I need to talk to the technician to solve this problem. I do not trust him and hang up, but called the number, responded to the same person (as he had an Indian accent with a lisp in addition to this) and he said that Joseph and not James!
Scam or what? Thank youIt is a scam! Who is becoming extremely common and was even on the news in some places. As long as you don't give them any personal information, you should be fine. Should they call once again, simply hang up.
See the recent thread below for more information; Shenan Stanley and the spirit of the messages contain very useful information:

I try to print from quicken and I get an error message that says that I have to be in the mode of administration and run restore pdfdriver.bat. I don't know what is a mode of administration, nor I know what is a pdfdriver.bat. Can anyone help?
Hello
1. what operating system do you use?
2. what web browser do you use?
3. have you made changes on your computer?
4. What is the brand and model of the printer?
5. are you able to print from other applications?
When a printer is installed, members of the Administrators group on the computer are given permission to manage the printer by default. If you have an administrator account, you can probably change the printer properties. Otherwise, you must obtain permission to manage the printer before you can change the properties of the printer.
Method 1:
If you are using, I suggest you send the link to learn how to open a session as an administrator.

MSE says that I have to run Defender in order to remove found threats. I can't launch the Defender, it keeps closing
MSE says that I have to run Defender in order to remove found threats. I can't launch the Defender, it keeps closing
Suppose MSE wants that you run Windows Defender in offline mode (RDO), which is not the same as the defender of Windows that is installed on Win 7 and is disabled when MSE (and other anti-malware programs are installed. Yes, it's very confusing.
http://securitygarden.blogspot.com/2012/04/understanding-Microsoft-anti-malware.html
In any case, see below for information about the RDO:
You may need to use one or more of the following scanners in offline mode - you'll need to burn a CD using another computer and change the sequence of starting your computer to run the scan - instructions are provided with the links:

only, I was contacted by a person claiming to be windows saying that my computer has been infected and he called for help. He hit me the windows and "R" key at the same time. Then I typed in "eventvwr" and who showed me a list of some events with indicator red and yellow. Then he wanted me to go back and enter "iexplore www.support.me", so he could fix my computer. I became very suspicios and did not continue with his appeal. Is it a hoax or someone really trying to help me? Because I did not communicate with him, I feel that this is not a legitimate operation. Thanks for your help.
original title: telephone call from Windows?Hello
It's a scam.
Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.
There is an article in the link I'm you provide at the end of this one
Read this Information from Microsoft:
"Avoid scams to phone for tech support.
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx
Don't be fooled of unsolicited calls. Don't provide personal information.
Here are some of the organizations that cyber criminals claim to come:
Helpdesk Windows
Windows repair center
Microsoft technical support
Microsoft technical support
Windows Support Group Technical Department
Microsoft Research and Development Team (team of Microsoft R & D)
Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.
We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer
That's what you do if you never give them remote access.
If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, explain, and change passwords.
If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.
And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.
See you soon.
