No audio with external microphone

Using the brand new camcorder VIXIA R500, auto mode.  Normal audio with built-in mic.  Audio normal with headphones.  But when I plug in external mike, there is no audio and level indicator does not move.  True to headset brand new Nikon ME - 1 mike and mike.  Can you help me?

RODE Stereo mike arrived today, it works perfectly!  The difference is that he has a 9V battery.  It's something more crap in the middle of a shooting, but I'll live with that.  RODE is more expensive, but considered the de facto standard.  Next step is shooting outdoors on a windy day, see how much it is suppression of noise.  This is the reason that I went with external mike.

    Hello

you will not be able to hear your microphone until you check in this

But if you mean by doesn't work not as it does not work on Skype

So I'll ask you to please check your Skype setting

Then try to establish the new mic as default

    then try using Windows Recorder

If the windows recorder can detect sound there is therefore no reason for fear

But if the problem remains I will ask you to try a different MIC

  • Satellite A200 - 1SM PSAE6E - impossible to record with an external microphone

    Hello.

I have problem with my microphone, maybe not microphone but my entry into the laptop.
When I connect something to the entrance, and I start the program to save, there is nothing to just silence, and when I log off (microphone or something like that) program is sound recording.

I don't know what is happening. I turn off the drivers of the device...
and I reinstall audio drivers, maybe more just, I have format my computer and still nothing.
Seriously I don't know what the problem...

Please help because I'm going crazy :D

    Hello

I recommend checking out the settings first.
In Control Panel-> sound, you should check the volume of the microphone.
The volume must be set to the highest level.

In Control Panel, you should also find the Audio from Realtek Manager. There you can change some options too.
On the right side (right column), you'll find options called advanced settings. Here you can change the settings for the headphone and microphone Sockets.

By the way; don't forget that your external microphone to which you connect to the laptop is ok

  • All have experience using an external microphone with a CX200 HDR? Is is possible?

If I want to use an external mic, equiptment, cables etc do I need?

The CX200 HDR doesn't have any interface for the use of an external microphone. Some high-end models have a 3.5 mm microphone jack and a claw accessory that you can attach external microphones.

  • HDR - AZ1 external microphone?

Is it possible to use an external microphone with the HDR - AZ1, through mini-USB, Wi - fi or an Iphone?

You cannot connect an external microphone for HDR - AZ1.

The other Sony Action cam models include a MIC-in, but the AZ1 is too small for that.

You can use an external Audio recorder and synchronize the audio of the film in post-production.

  • Satellite A200-13R: after installing the XP cannot use external microphone

    Hello

I have A200-13R which comes with Vista Home Basic. Like most of my works under XP, I don't feel comfortable with vista. So I installed win Xp pro as a dual operating system. and I hv installed all the drivers downloaded from the Toshiba site.

But when I use yahoo or other messengers system isn't identify if I plugged the external microphone. It uses only the inbuild mic with the system. I forgot to install something?

    Experts please help.

    Hello

First of all there is no specialists but simply Tosh user ;)

    > I forgot something to install

I put t think you forgot something to install. Only the audio driver is needed to get the sound and mic work.
I presume that it s just a matter of adjustment.

I recommend to check the microphone settings in the-> sound and audio devices Control Panel
In the single tabs as audio and voice please check if the microphone has been selected.

In addition, please be sure that mute mic worked in volume-> advanced-> control of the microphone.

This will disable the internal microphone! To activate the external microphone, you must press the button advanced under the micro controller.
In the new window called Advanced controls for microphone, you will need to activate select MIC2 and Mic Boost.

    Best regards

  • Satellite L750 does not recognize an external microphone

My laptop does not recognize any external audio input device plugged into the mic port.

I have a Satellite L750 running Windows 7 with the Conexant HD Audio Smart.

I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal mic.

When I go into the sound properties, under the recording tab, it is only the internal mic. There is no option for an external mic.

I tried updating the driver for sound card, remove the card driver sound and re - install, check all the properties under sound properties, but there is no option for the external microphone.

I tried Googling the problem but nobody seems to have a viable solution.

Please can someone help me get the laptop to recognize an external mic.

    > I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal microphone

Start a test: take an external microphone, connect it to the laptop and use a Windows 7 Audio Recorder utility (can be found in all programs-> Accessories) to record an audio sample.

    Is this possible?

I think that the microphone that appears in the control-> audio-> recording tab panel is the external microphone jack.
You can also click right in the recording tab and must mark the options: show disconnected devices and devices to see the disabled.

  • Y50 external microphone does not work do not

Bought the Y50 because it is decent spec for video editing (which works well), but - can not get the external microphone to work.

    Tried a headphones/mic adapter.

Tried all the different settings in Realtek HD Audio Manager

I tried Control Panel / its parameters - this allows me to use the ' Mic in towards the front (black), even if it's on the side of the laptop - the volume indicator shows a signal comes from the microphone. The other "Microphone" device also shows that it works for the built-in microphones. I can type each microphone independently to see the answer in each Panel.

But - I can't get any software on the laptop to record really any external microphone signal, what I need for the voice-over.

The Installer 'Configure your speech recognition' "Assistant configuration of the Microphone" show a small volume entry but repeat myself "the computer did not hear you clearly.

    Update

Feel a bit of a numpty - the microphone works now - whenever I tried to hear the recording of the test and I got the silence - that as a failure - I just needed to unplug the microphone from the socket to allow the speakers to play confused recording. Read white noise headphones - must deal separately with this!

Thus, the headphone splitter adapter is the key.

    Hello

Yes - as I posted in the update - separator solved the problem thanks.

  • Paviliion dv7: external Microphone not Picking Up Sound

    Hello

I recently bought a product that works better with direct external headphones. It was my first time ever using one with my laptop. When I went through the set up process, the microphone would pick up all the sounds and I couldn't hear anything through the external listener.  I tried to use the microphone and headphone port as well as the helmets of the different with the same result. Headsets work very well on other devices.

When I use only ordinary headphones connected via the helmet, I hear very well.

I went to control panel > hardware and sound > Sound > manage Audio devices to solve problems, but nothing has worked. I tried to update the latest drivers and I was told later are already installed.

Is the name of the product: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Product # (NOT the serial number) is: B5R46UA #ABA
The external microphone is called: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Please advise,

    chriscinthed

    Hi @chriscinthed ,

You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. It will also fix the sound.

When you perform a system restore Please note remove all USB devices and headphones. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

Speaking to Rosetta Stone said headsets for use with the software here is for Plug-and-Play technology for the connected USB headset. Other computers you've tried have the Beats Audio.  To turn on or off the Beats Audio, press the fn in combination with the b button. Decision-making has influence on the Beats Audio which may need to be turned off. Then, try the microphone.
You guarantee that you plug the microphone headset in the selection for the helmets on the laptop.

    Thank you.

  • T420s external microphone does not work

I just bought a T420s, 4174-P5G Type, I want to use an external stereo microphone (Sony ECM-719) rather than the built-in microphone, but as soon as I plug the combined headphone/microphone jack, the microphone is recognized as helmet. Anyone has an idea how to do the external microphone works?

The sound card is named 'Conexant HD SmartAudio 20672' and I think that I have the latest version of the driver installed correctly.

    Any help will be appreciated.
