No Bluetooth on Latitude E5540 although Wifi works (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi)

Hello

as indicated, I can't do the bluetooth on my laptop E5540, although the chip works fine (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi). I do not use so much so I discovered a few days ago:

Win7 showed an "unknown device" which was clearly referring to BT

After a round of Microsoft/Dell/Intel updates, there is no more 'unknown devices' but still no trace of BT (as you can see in the following image).

Help?

Thanks in advance

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the tips. I have indeed tried everything and more, but no bluetooth device was visible... I finally checked the BIOS, and we are here:

SOLVED.

The question was in fact related to an option: "want you as the physical button on the left to control: wifi, wifi + bluetooth...» ». I probably suddenly unchecked bluetooth, there is no more way to power it on.

Thank you

  • Conflict of Bluetooth and WiDi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160

I have a HP Envy 17 laptop t-j100 with 4th generation CPU i7-4700mq as well as the NIC Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.  The Wifi and Bluetooth worked well. However, Bluetooth has stopped working and has disappeared from the list of devices in Device Manager after you install Intel WiDi software.

Can Bluetooth and WiDi coexist on this map of 3160 AC? If so, how to make two of them work?

    I appreciate your kind help.

Hello gyshen, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have a problem with the Bluetooth works on your laptop after installing software WiDi. I will try to help you with this.

What do you mean, by installing software WiDi? Where have you installed this from?

Deepen the question for you and to answer your questions, both can "coexist" using the map Intel AC 3160. This is confirmed here: Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160.

The processor is also supported: Intel® Core™ processor i7-4700MQ.

I suggest try to update/install the two drivers (without wireless/bluetooth). They are here:
    Driver LAN wireless Intel 7260/3160
    Driver Bluetooth 4.0 Intel

I'll also give you this document: Using Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) of media to your TV display as it can be useful to you.

These are the most recent provided by HP to your laptop.

Let me know if those who help at all, please post on the Forums of HP.

  • J2C89PA #AB4: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 bluetooth problem

I installed my adapter wireless laptop 'Broadcom BCM43142"to"Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 ac 802.11"later confirmed that the new card is supported for repair.  The two latest drivers for Intel wireless and bluetooth are installed (18.33.0.2 and 18.1.1611.3223 respectively).

Ca connection works perfectly well; However, the bluetooth seems to have issue here.  For matching and to maintain active the connection between the device bluetooth and laptop, I put literally right next to each other.  No matter how far more than 10cm of distance, the bluetooth device will be inactive and unusable.

I don't have such a problem with Broadcom, which I can perform the pairing and maintain the connection active even a meter apart.

Does anyone face the same problem before with Intel AC 3160 bluetooth?  Or is it a hardware problem with the card itself?

Intel AC 3160 must antenna 2 (1 for the wifi and the other BT).  I managed to install the 2nd antenna and the BT problem solved.

Hello, my laptop Hp G62 b04SL 2009 can support an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 wifi card?

Have this laptop, a whitelist (or black)?

    profuct key: XF299EA #ABZ

    Processor: Intel Core I3 350M

    motherboard: HP 1439 60.50

BIOS: version of Hewlett - Packard F.48 09/11/2011

    RAM: 4 GB

    Thank you all!

Yes, he absolutely has a whitelist. I do not know where to come from tips in the other 2 posts and this is a mistake. Laptop wi - fi modules are readily available on the market. I have a drawer full of them to prove it. Unfortunately, HP had about one year-10 ran to block the installation of any wi - fi (module) card but a specific group of cards specific firmware HP and identity. In other words, the ONLY cards that can be installed are the very specific listed for your model in your area in the maintenance manual. This prevented the owners of manufactured HP laptops before about Q4 2013 to upgrade to the latest wireless technology. Your laptop is longer than that if you're stuck with what is indicated in the maintenance manual.

Not my decision, just tell it like it is.

  • Update device Intel 8260/7260 Bluetooth on Latitude E5540

During the last two weeks, I get a notification update Intel 8260/7260 Bluetooth device on my Latitude E5540 to update driver from Dell (Dell update command). The update downloads ok and starts to install, then a black mini window pops up as the old window back but without display message and after a few minutes or seconds the installation stops and I get a message saying that it has failed.  This has happened about 3 - 4 times in the last 2 weeks.  Any advice as to what can be done?  Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response.  Before I read your response, I did some reading and went to the Device Manager and check if the bluetooth device driver intel (mine is 7260) necessary for an update and got the answer that I got latest drivers.  I did, however, go to Dell as you suggested above and check the updates of device needed and this wasn't.  So I think that I agree.  I assume that the installation failed because it was already up to date, there may not be an option that tells you already have the latest version of the driver for the system.  Thanks again for the information, much appreciated.
