  • Airport Extreme and Broadband Modem/Router

I have my Airport Extreme (5th generation) plugged into a Broadband Modem/Router combo. I would like to have both able to use their wireless capabilities. The Airport Extreme has been previously connected to a Modem broadband all my IP addresses came by Airport Extreme (192.168.2. *). With the New Modem/Router combo broadband, it uses 10.0.0 * so I would be able to use Airport Extreme to add the 192.168.2. * While having the 10.0.0. * the Broadband Modem/Router combo.

Is this possible and, if so, how do I configure Airport Extreme to do?

Normally, you don't want two devices on the same network as the two try to act as routers to the same network. Which will produce conflicts of IP addresses... which can possibly be addressed... and a Double NAT problem, which cannot.

The Double NAT error can cause a number of unpredictable issues... things like the problems of communication between the devices on the network, slow navigation... or, not navigation in the case of certain websites, Internet access slower, to name a few.

Yes, some users may get away with a Double NAT on a single home network, but unnecessarily complicating things over a network is normally something you want to avoid.

We do not recommend it, but if you really want AirPort Extreme for use range 192.168.2.x however, you can easily make this change using AirPort Utility. If you are not sure how to do this and need help, then we will need to know which version of AirPort utility you are using.

To find, open AirPort Utility, and then click the menu of AirPort Utility in the far left of the screen corner. Click on about AirPort Utility to see what version you have and post back with that info.

I'm trying to download Firefox and Thunderbird for a friend (who already operates two programs on XP) to load from a CD I create on its new computer Windows 8.1. There can be no broadband. Is there a way to do this?

Complete installation of Firefox and Thunderbird can be downloaded from the links instead of back heel online installers.

  • Firefox tries to connect to broadband when I am already connected to the wifi at home. How can I disable this repeated attempt.

I start my laptop and connect to my home wifi network. When I use Firefox and am on msn.com or Yahoo.com, a window opens for a connection to broadband, and it prevents the computer from going to a link or another site, unless I cancel this popup. It happens regularly while I use Firefox to access Web sites.

Please provide a screenshot of this "popup for a broadband connection.

  • My service provider broadband (Talk Talk UK) hijacked my keyword.url remotely

Today, when I entered an incorrect text string in the address bar, I was redirected to a page set by my broadband (Talk Talk UK) service provider with links sponsored of suggestions.

I should be redirected to a Google search page as my setting keyword.url is http://www.google.com/search?q=.

Keyword.url value showed still like Google, even if I was now redirected to a pub to Talk Talk.

This is apparently the Talk Talk Service error replacement & to 'opt-out', I had to restart my router.

My concern is that I don't think that this service has been installed through my Mozilla I'm quite fussy about scripts and cookies and you have not installed all the software of Talk Talk, AFAIK.

In addition, the value for keyword.url Mozilla always showed as "Google".

Finally, the fact that I had to reboot my router to choose his fish too.

I am extremely suspicious that Talk Talk have changed my settings for browser without my permission/knowledge.

This happens only now that the page has always redirected to Google before and I've been with Talk Talk for centuries.

Wouldn't think of that this company was involved with our Mozilla.

When you enter a single word in the address bar and press ENTER, Firefox can 'try' a standard fix - up such as:

    www. yourword + .com

If it does not exist, your ISP can intercept the request and return a search page.

However, I think that Firefox should use the keyword. URL for all multiple word strings, because they are obviously not legal domain names, unless something has changed.

Can you confirm that the feature is enabled?

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the filter box, type or paste the keywords and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If keyword.enabled is false, double-click it to reset to true.

If this is already the case, hmmm, strange... you have bars of tools or other add-ons that might replace the built-in functionality?

  • NB 100: How - top connection Orange UK mobile broadband (usb icon 225 stick)

I just managed to get my connected nb100, here's how:

Step 1 - enter the SIM card - instructions provided with the device

Step 2 - upgrade of the network manager

#Right click the icon of your management network at the top right and select "about". If it is less than 0.7 (such as mine) upgrade is necessary.

    #upgrade to the network manager > = 0.7
    > sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

#add the following at the end:
    > main deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu hardy
    > deb - src http://ppa.launchpad.net/network-manager/ubuntu hardy main

#save, out, run Manager Update, install updates and restart the computer. If the Network Manager icon is not present - stops completely. Should appear after turning back.

Step 3 - install the driver OHSS and ozerocdoff
Locate and download the latest version (1.9 in my case) here: http://www.pharscape.org/forum/index.php?board=14.0

    > cd Desktop /.
    > tar zxvf ass - 1.9.tar.gz
    > cd hso_26 - v. 19.
    > sudo apt - get install build-essential
    > sudo apt - get install linux - headers-'uname - r '.

    > sudo make install

    Locate and download ozerocdoff
    > cd... /.
    > tar zxvf udev.tar.gz
    > cd udev /.
    > sudo make install

    Step 4 - configure connection
Right-click on the network manager, and then select "Edit connections" > mobile broadband. Change the listed connection and insert the following code:
    username: orange
    password: orange
    APN: orangeinternet

When you plug your icon 225 it must connect now.

When you want to disconnect, pull the icon 225... I tried to use the disconnect on the Network Manager option and my laptop crashed...

Feel free to copy and improve this howto.

    Which one should I buy?

The blue button on the touchpad is always turned on, but there is

The WiFi works, there is an Ethernet cable, if I want to use, then the - future - Broadband card.
How can I manage when I'm close to a working WLAN pc does not use the link high pay rate, but the ethernet cable or WLAN radio link?

The easiest way is to connect to an access point or wireless access point wireless.

If the R930 is a modem 3G / 4G, you can use a SIM card.

You must disconnect the connection 3G / 4G, if you want to use the WLAN.

  • Tecra A10 - 15 c PTSB1E - no modem Mobile Broadband

I'm looking for help with my problem of internal modem using Wireless Manager 5 (5.2.1047.69).
I had a problem a week a go that the operating system (Windows XP) has been altered.

In the meantime, I could not open Wireless Manager 5 (with a message that "no modem Mobile Broadband" and there are other programs that have been affected.) A recovery process was undertaken which included deletion of all programs and re - install.

The modem worked for a week and I now have the same "No Mobile Broadband Modem" message again.
I used the modem dongle external vodafone which work currently, but here the restoration of my internal modem.

    Can someone help, please?

Is the Wireless Manager 5 Toshiba application? I don't think so.
So if you have problems to use non-Toshiba applications contact producer software and support.

One more thing: all of the time that you write on the modem internal. What type of modem is?
As far as I know for its use if internal laptop modem you don't need one Director or another piece of software.

To be honest, I feel the whole issue has nothing to do with Toshiba.
    Have I misunderstood something?

  • Tecra 8000 and broadband connection

    Hi all

I recently asked to watch Tecra 8000 a friends (PII 233) and give it a bit of an update... Don't know why the most I've ever done, is to add a few small components in my PC at home!

My question is - is this possible for a connection broadband to be put in place - I looked all over the laptop, but don't find nothing which would suggest it is possible.
(Also what other improvements should be can) watching us.

Sorry for the noobness, but any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ben

Wow this is really an oldie
Broadband do you mean the LAN port?

As far as I know that the Tecra 8000 was not equipped with LAN port.
It s really amazing but it is a fact

However, if you want to use LAN then I advise you to buy a PCMCIA (Cardbus 32-bit) LAN card that would be allows to connect the Tecra 8000 to LAN.

  • Excite Pro AT10LE - A - broadband USB dongle connection

Anyone know if it is possible to connect a micro USB cable USB female to use a dongle broadband when wireless is not available.

In the past, I linked the tablet to my phone and come this way, but I have a dongle to spare I can use.
    See you soon.

I've never tested this configuration, but in my opinion the other USB WiFi dongle will not be recognized.

The micro-USB port that is available to connect the tablet to a computer to transfer data. The tablet can acts as a host and client via this port.
In addition some additional devices such as the keyboard or the mouse (HiDs) could be connected but it will be available in the latest version of the software.

To connect a USB device, you must use a microphone, a socket for a cable from the Jack.

  • Toshiba/Intel customer Wireless or broadband providers?

Since registration for services to wide band BT, I now have 2 or 3 Wireless clients attempting to access my wireless network.

So I was wondering which one would be better performance and should I remove other competing for resources?

I have a Toshiba Tecra M5 with a client Wireless 3945ABG Intel Pro, also a client of pro5.5 Cisco/Pure Networks Network Magic and now BT (British Telecom) also provide a wireless client with their broadband product!

    Hello

Usually different clients should not affect the performance of WLan.
You have customers just that for a configuration

The customer Intel is ok I m using too

And notes; never change a running system ;) I mean why switch to other customers if you use runs correctly.

  • Portege R830 - forcing mobile broadband using 3 G/HSDPA with Win 8

    Hi all

Updated my Portege R830 to Windows 8 without problem.

Given that most of the Wireless Manager functionality has been moved in the Windows, I can not find where I can "force" the connection to 3 G/HSDPA.

I live in an area where the signal is insufficient and if I let the network default settings, it frequently goes to the strongest EDGE connection. I connected with Wireless Manager, using only 3 G/HSDPA where 2 bars were sufficient for everyday tasks.

Moments of light bulb? (Travel is unfortunately not an option... ;))

Hmm, I think that this parameter isn't available in 8 Win.

Microsoft provides a nice article on configuring broadband to help to win 8 and mentioned configuration isn't it:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/mobile-broadband-from-start-to-finish

From my understanding the best signal to broadband will be selected and used if it is available.,.
