No CD/DVD showing drive

I bought a Dell Vostro 1000 opportunity. The seller had cleaned for sale and somehow deleted (?) the CD player.
It does not appear in my computer, I'm looking for new material, nothing. I think that the driver may also be missing because it will not be displayed to install.
I can't go online with it to download the drivers, and of course I can download album since the player does not work, so I am using a flash on this one drive and then goes to install in it.
BUT I can not find the suitable driver for it.
I can find the firmware, but no driver.
Can someone show me the way to the right driver for it, or if you think I can have another problem, I need to look for.

You can search on the Internet and download it.

Read the instructions to learn how to run.

It is not difficult, it's just different then most of the people are too used.

If that does not resolve your problem, you may have defective DVD (unit) material.

I'm trying to update the firmware of my DVD - RW drive on my HP desktop computer (model #P7 - 1298c).  However, when I allow HP to scan my computer for updates, it shows the firmware for the HP SW820 updates.  My Device Manager indicates that the drive installed in my computer is a SW810.  Is the information in incorrect device manager?  I don't want you try to install update wrong firmware and the drive of brick.  Please let me know.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    concerning

Generally, it is an indication that the you use the Windows 7 installation media that is inserted in a USB3.0 port. Windows 7 is not supported with native support for USB3.0 and requires the installed USB 2.0 port or a USB3.0 port emulation USB 2.0. In addition, there may be issues when you try to install Windows 7 on an Intel SkyLake chipset.

The first step would be to go through the BIOS and see if there is an option for the compatible mode or emulation for USB ports.

Alternatively, you can contact HP to see if they have material recovery/restore for Windows 7 to your computer.

  • My DVD - RW drive (E :) does not work

    Hello everyone

My DVD - RW drive (E :) has stopped working. It has stopped reading DVDs but it will play CD and CD-ROM. My drive D (CD - RW) work well and plays the CD and CD-ROM without problem.

I have a Dell Dimension DM051and Windows XP Professional SP3. The problem E drive is HL-DT-ST DVD + RW GWA4164B

I used Device Manager to try to solve the problem, but it wrongly States "this device works correctly. I tried 'Drives and troubleshooting of network adapters' but it was too 'unable to resolve your problem... " I reached the "you need to install or update a decoder?" and do not know if I have to buy a decoder from one of the Microsoft recommended "solution providers" to solve the problem or not? Are there available free patches? I downloaded the relevant E113.zip Support of Dell, but this too made no difference.

The DVD player is on the correct DVD region.

I tried Microsoft guided help clean boot, but it was "impossible to download right now" and was told to try again later.

I tried Microsoft Fixit 50027 and concluded that "media in the CD/DVD drive is not readable (HT-DT-ST DVD + RW GWA4164B) the drive is empty or the media format is not supported..." "No not fixed"

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you very much

the selected disk is not able to write, if you have multiple CD DVD players try to use another drive, otherwise you may need to install a CD DVD burner to burn with Nero, it says: this device needs a DVD R/W... and the fix format disc, it says the drive is not capable at all.  Also, when I go to the drive in my computer, it shows the drive as a CD drive.  I replaced the Combo drive with a new one and still have the same issues. ·         Have what Microsoft Fixit you tried?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: CD-DVD combo drives have two lenses to write CDs and DVDs, respectively. First check with the manufacturer of the computer if the glasses are intact.

Method 2: To diagnose and repair problems with your CD or DVD drive when trying to read or burn media automatically.

  • pilot missing dvd/CD; drive even not recognized by the computer

somehow, when I tried to burn a dvd, (windows DVD Creator) the computer seems to have removed its own driver for the dvd drive (I put the disc in, it recognized that it was not a disk supported, put a new one in the drive, and create dvd windows then told me that I need to install a dvd/cd writer to complete my project). the relase button disk would not work after turning in the second disc and always used to work even after that. If I use a pin code manually to open and put a disk in the light lights up recocnizing there is something in there, but that nothing, not even spin the disc. No cd, dvd or all other discs work. Ive tried a few different driver Fixer programs, even those you pay (mender driver, driver detective - no even to recognize the missing driver) and can't seem to find a solution. cd/DVD device does not even appear in "device system' list or lists of material which must show all devices, programs or drivers... also do not show my E: / in my computer, what would be my dvd/cd drive." I tried the "regedit" and could not find the 'filter filter up/down' you are supposed to remove to fix. " filter of upper/lower case is not listed in the options.

I'm on a hp Pavilion dv6000 and ive tried searching on the site Web of hp and help all forums, with no solution until now...

    Hello

For the CD/DVD problem start up that convenience store and work down to jump
nothing. He is even said to continue if the CD/DVD drive is not displayed in Device Manager.
You are much less likely to solve the problem by a hit or miss approach to try this
or such. And of course, there may be a material cause.

The HP forums, ask questions and I hope that those who have had
the same issues on similar equipment that have solved the issue respond. Only way
to succeed is to give your best effort.

HP does not have a lot of online documentation and help diagnostics on their site and those
could help to resolve some of the questions withour paying for support.

Back up your data on the device and it goes back out of the box state
can be one of the best moves to solve the present problems.

    I hope this helps.

  • DVD/cd drive not detected

The device cd/dvd drive does not show in my computer or Device Manager.   HP Pavilion dv9500 laptop.  I know that the camera is good, as I tried in another HP Pavilion laptop and everything was good.  I tried the the high/low filters registry fix surprised but only shows not always.   Any help?

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    Hello

Not in RegEdit, I thought in the Device Manager.

In the control panel - Device Manager which you may already have done.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack.

    Hello

To go through ALL these links? Carefully?

    If you exhausted the above:

Try to contact your system manufacturer or the manufacturer of car (or even to find a machine with the same version of Windows
as Vista 32 or 64 bit and the same drive) and get registry settings for this drive, then compare
paste them into what you have. I would do ALL the 1st store so there is no issue in case you
    in this stage.

Here are the keys that I believe are only those in question - for the CD in the car of course there will be other subkeys
subkeys in these keys. Be sure to ask specific keys involved as well as the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

It is probably a failure or has failed.

If yours is a desktop PC, the replacement is easy and inexpensive - like $20

If yours is a laptop, the replacement is not easy and can be expensive.  However, just a much cheaper solution is to buy an external DVD device that connects via USB for about $25.
