No cursor on the screen to connect to the start or restart

Hello, my missing cursor problem is a little different from others, I have not installed VMware, or use a wireless keyboard/mouse. And happen randomly when using the laptop. Also the alarm clock is correct because I only need to enter a password, don't choose between accounts.

My 13 "mid 2012 retina not MBP was having no problem connecting with 10.11.1. But when I upgraded to 10.11.2 I started having a problem. After that my lap top boots and I just login/password page, there is no mouse cursor for me to click on the user account icon for the password box. This only happens at the start or restart. It occurs only if I got my MBP in hibernation for a few hours and restarted (I run Onyx to clean and a restart is recommended), but now it happens if I had turned it off overnight.

If I close the lid and put it to sleep for 5 to 10 seconds, and then reopen the lid. I get a black screen for about 5 seconds then the normal login screen returns with a slider and I can connect normally I remember once having to close the cover once more.

I 'fix' this during a few days by turning off bluetooth in sys. Pref. For some reason, upgrading to 10.11.2 re-enabled bluetooth. But a few days ago the missing number of slider reappeared.

Today, I tried something different. I used the trackpad to drag the top slider of 'invisible' to the left corner where he usually is at the start and crept above where to seat my account icon. I guessed correctly (had) and was able to click the icon cursor haha. So connect is not buggy, just no cursor.

If this sounds familiar to anyone or anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it. I prefer not to do a clean install. Maybe safely remove a demon plist or launch work? Thank you!

Same problem on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012).  El Capitan 10.11.3

No solution, but the problem for me is very sparatic and doesn't happen very often.

I have a desktop computer Pavilion 500-330 Windows 8.1 running on a 64-bit system. The problem is after the start, a blue screen with a cursor appears, and the computer does not go to the lock screen.  I did restore, get updates and even left the only blue screen, but after many hours, he was always there.  If I do a force re-booting, the lock screen comes, but not always immediately.  There is no problem to wake up when it is in "standby".

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forums.

Description of the question, I understand that when you start taskbar and the desktop icons disappear.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

I suggest you follow these methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Fix broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/system_maintenance_for_windows/en-us

Method 2: Try to rebuild the icon cache and then check out.

    a. Click Start, click Control Panel, and write in the search options for files box.
    b. now, click on Folder Options to open and select folders and hidden files (dot).
    c. open a Windows Explorer window.
    d. go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local
    e. right click on IconCache.db and click on delete.
    f. click Yes to confirm the deletion.
NOTE: This removes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.
    g. close the window.
    h. emptying the trash.
    i. restart the computer.
    j. When you come back, you will notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date.
NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not much changed then you can just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.
    k. icon cache will be rebuilt.

Method 3: In addition, run a virus scanner and check.
Searching using check and scan Microsoft security if it is an infection that causes this problem.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I set a default cursor to the start position?

I need to wait for a serial number to enter.  I don't want to wait for the operator to hit keys.  I understand the part "update as you type" and I have a little delay waiting for the scanner to enter the loop number then account for a few seconds and passes information.

My problem is I need the currsor in the text field to start and I can't find it.  Is it possible to focus on the text input field at the beginning upward?  This would let me just call this routine entry-level scanner and no need to use entries of the mouse or the keyboard.  The operator can scan and go.

  • Windows 8 black screen and the cursor after the connection

Hello. I tried to upgrade to 8.1 Windows 8 Windows and it is stuck on like 3% for one hour, so I just rebooted the computer and he returned to Windows 8. I'm going to sleep and come back the next day and go on my laptop and it auto connects me and it goes to a black screen and I only have the slider on the black screen after login. I don't see the start menu, but I receive notifications for as sticky keys or any other notifications lights. I turned off my computer at least 20 times, took out the battery, empty the battery and tried to boot in safe mode with no luck. It is unlikely that it is an internal problem, because if I leave my computer alone for a few minutes, my screen saver photos appear. If anyone can help me solve this problem or help me get in easier safe mode would make things less stressful. I have an Acer Aspire V5 - 571 series. Thank you.

    Follow the methods suggested below:

    Method 1:

Start on the recovery environment using the installation of Windows 8 media.

    • Insert the DVD to install Windows 8 on DVD-ROM and restart your computer.
    • After you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    • Select the type of keyboard and good time.
    • Click repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    • Select Troubleshooting in choose an option screen.
    • In Troubleshooting screen, click Advanced options .
    • Click the automatic repair of the Advanced Options screen.
    • Then choose the operating system.
    • Windows 8 will then pick up questions on the hard drive and check that all required files are intact.

If the problem persists, proceed to the next method.

    Method 2:

Follow these steps to perform a system restore:

    • After you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    • Select the type of keyboard and good time.
    • Click repair your computer in the lower left corner.

Hi, while writing an email online using Firefox 3.6.3, I was using one of the "CTRL + left arrow or right" to move the cursor on the text. I must have pressed some other key because the screen has become huge - and I can't scroll vertically or horizontally, which makes the pages of Mail of Hotmail impossible. I have connected since using the Explorer MSFT and it works very well. This problem occurs only on the page of Mail of Hotmail Live not on the home page or other.

  • T400 problem booting from the hard disk, blinking cursor on the top left corner of the screen

I have problems with T400 (2765-TDG). He struggled with the Setup, which requires power 5 minutes/disable to propely operating system boot.

Computer laptop is less than two months, entirely properly the driver being up-to-date, then after that, nothing's been done about it to user or system administrator. Problem occurred suddenly after two weeks of mentioned maintenance.

    • There is no key keyb which can contine begin the process, wait for the reboot
    • There is no other device connected to the laptop, even mouse not

    • When he is successful, just before the start of the operating system, the boot in diagnostic mode to start (with fast start disabled) I can hear only a single beep

    • Operating system is not able to enter in standby mode, it justshows white screen and I have to turn off the laptop by pressing the off button longer

  • Slow cursor on the login screen; How to control the speed?

    I got a laptop HP Win7.  I don't know much it.

When I on the connection of the screen (account login), the cursor moves very slowly.

How can I control the speed of the cursor on the login screen?

I know that when I log on a user account, I can go to a control panel to control the speed of the cursor.  In fact, I did.

But apparently, which affects only the current user.

Thing certain, happy to help you.  Just a quick warning: registry changes can break your PC, so proceed with caution. That being said, it must be a very painless process.  Here's what I suggest.

    1. Create a system restore point.
Prevention is better than cure and this takes only a second.  Type "restore point" in your Start menu, choose the option "create a restore point. In the box that opens, go ahead and click on create and name it something like 'before you make changes to registry' and save it.
    2. Open the registry editor.
Press the Windows Logo key and type R to open the run, then run regedit to open the registry editor. Accept the UAC security prompt if you receive one.
    3. Go to your mouse settings.
Access the mouse of your own user profile settings in the registry. It works a bit like the shirts, then navigate to this path:

      HKEY_Current_User\Control Panel\Mouse

Once you open this key ("record"), you will see all your settings of the mouse on the right side of the window.

    4. Export your own settings of the mouse to a file
Right click on the folder of the mouse, choose export and save it to your desktop.  Close the registry editor at this point, we're done with it.
    5. Change the saved file.
We use this file as a template. Go to your desktop, right-click the file that you saved, and choose Edit. It should open in Notepad.  We will only change the 3rd line in the file.  This is change you can do:

      Old: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse]
      New: [HKEY_USERS\. Default\Control Panel\Mouse]

After you have made a change to this line, close and save the file.

    6. Import the settings changed in the registry.
This is the easy part. Simply double-click on this settings file and allow it to import into the registry when prompted.

This is import your account settings and apply them to the. By DEFAULT, the account used on the logon screen.  Therefore, after you apply these, restart the computer and you should find that the settings are now on the logon screen.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Hello Mikal,

I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will try to help you in the matter of fixing.

In order to understand the issue more clearly, I would ask that kindly provide me with the following information.

    1. Did you do any hardware and software changes to the system?

    2. Since how long you are having this problem?

    3. Do you receive an error message? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

It is possible that this problem would have occurred due to corruption in the mouse settings in the system.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run the built-in convenience store equipment and devices and check if it works. Follow the steps below.

Note: If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

    1. Press Windows key + R, type Panel.

    2. Type of Troubleshooting in the search bar, click Troubleshooting.

    3. Click hardware and sound, click on material and devices.

    4. Follow the steps in the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

If the problem persists, please follow method 2.

    Method 2:

Please follow the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Open the "Start" menu by clicking on the Windows logo in the corner of your screen. Click on "Control Panel."

    2. Click the box in the corner of the window titled "Search Control Panel" and then type "mouse". The window will automatically display search results.

    3. Click on the word "Mouse" in green text to open the "Mouse properties" window

    4. Click on the tab "pointers". Under 'Customize', the window shows your current mouse icons.

    5. Click on 'Select Normal' to highlight and press the button "Browse".

    6. Scroll the list of available cursors and find the files named 'aero_link,' 'aero_link_l' and 'aero_link_xl '. These files contain icons of the hand in three sizes, from the smallest to the largest.

    7. Click on the file of the icon of the desired size. Press the button 'open '. Repeat this process if you want to change all other cursors. For your pointer still resemble a hand, do it for each other cursor on the list 'customize '.

    8. Press the 'Ok' button when you are finished editing all the sliders. The system will immediately change the appearance of the pointer of your.

  • every time I erase content and settings on my iphone 6 after reset at the start of my phone and after crossing the screen as Hello > select language > Connect wifi > my iphone doesnot ask me activation lock even if my unit is also found on

every time I erase content and settings on my iphone 6 after reset at the start of my phone and after crossing the screen as Hello > select language > wifi connection > my iphone doesnot ask me lock activation that says that your iphone is connected with the old apple ID, please enter the id and password

I always reset on find my optional equipment please tell me how to activate locking activation so that whenever I have factory reset my phone with finding my camera so my phone always ask an old apple and password

I do not understand your question, but let me go with what I believe. Looks like you entered in iCloud and erased all the content and settings on the iPhone, and once you go by assigning back up again, you do not see something that you expect to see, for example, a request for an Apple ID. When you go through the installation process to select the language, etc., it must, at some point, ask you to identify yourself with your Apple ID. are you not see this?

It would be better if you try to describe exactly what you do again. Also, without the help of any sign of punctuation, it is difficult to track everything you ask. Try providing the steps of what you do, and then what you see when you get to the point that you believe that something is going wrong. You mention both an old and new Apple ID, which is rather confusing.
