  • 4380 all-in-one printer does not detect the print cartridge

My all-in-one printer (model 4380 vivera, bought in Switzerland) does not detect the print cartridges. I traded the color cartridge with that of another, older than I was and now everything is fine. I don't know when, this problem will arise again. The last time I was so frustrated that I bought another printer (HP 2050) which seems to work without problems. I have unplugged, replugged and clean the cartridges with filtered water. The problem may arise at any time. Help, please. Thank you.

I'm sorry you have a problem with your ink not detected.

The problem may be because the printer is of the Switzerland and the ink cartridges are NOT. The printer will only accept cartridges of the same region/country.

For example, if you are in the United States and buy a printer and the cartridges come from GERMANY, he cannot read. Will suit most, but some of the contacts are different causing not well read the cartridge from the printer.

  • Printer intermittently is unable to detect the ink cartridges

Sometimes my printer works very well; other times are not print and displays the message "print cartridge missing or not detected".  I have checked connections, turned and, closed and restarted, removed and replaced the cartridges, replaced the USB cable, replaced driver assisted automatic, deleted and reinstalled the printer.  Sometimes, the problem seems to be resolved, but always comes back.  This happened several weeks during which failure and attempts at troubleshooting happened probably 30 times.  I have a recent diagnosis page, but do not know how to interpret it.

The printer is a HP Photosmart C4280, I've used for several years without problem.  I only use text printing and copy functionality.  Have never used scanner or printed photos.

Of course, I could use help with that.  Thanks in advance.

  • Photosmart all-in-one wireless B109n - problem with detection of the cartridges

I just bought a Photosmart all-in-one wireless B109n. implementation proceeded without problems (including printing test photo).

When I tried to use it later, he said that the cartridges were not detected.
Strange thing is that when I take one of 4 cartridges, it says that one is missing. After you have added the last of them, he says that none of them are detected.

Also, I need to re - enter the language and area whenever I turn it on. As if it's reset instead of make a cut...

    How this can be solved?

Back to the store where I got it.

They saw the same thing I had met and gave me a new without much fuzz

    The new works very well

  • Cartridges not detected

We have an HP Photosmart 4280 printer.  The following message suddenly appeared on the printer.  "Printer cartridges missing or not detected". Both cartridges have been used for some time without problem.  When I checked the ink levels in the color cartridge had an 'x' and no ink showing that the black cartridge was ok.   No lights except the light 'market '. What should we do?

HI - is perhaps that the cartridge is now bad.  Go ahead and try the steps outlined in this document, from 2 Solution, given that these cartridges worked correctly:

  • "Print cartridge missing or not detected" says my Photosmart C4250 of HP all-in-One error

My all-in-one HP Photosmart C4250 error is 5 years old.

This week, he stopped printing with a message saying that it could not detect the ink cartridge.  The cartridge was low, but non-empty, so I asked a geek friend to take a look but no problem was found.  Today, I just bought and installed a new cartridge.  Still will not work.

This printer has been reliable so far.  Any ideas?  I am unemployed and a new printer is certainly NOT in my future.

    Thank you!

Here a link to a document that addresses the error message that you receive on this printer model. It will provide a troubleshooting to try in an attempt to clear the error message. If we filled all solutions in the document and continue to receive the error message, would seek to substitute.

  • Cartridge missing or not detected

Recently, I replaced the color cartridge in my Photosmart C4240 all-in-one. After re-installing the cartridge, there is a message on the printer that "printer cartridges missing or not detected" (with a picture of an ink cartridge). I deleted and reinstalled each cartridge several times and noticed that sometimes a cartridge image is displayed and other times two images are displayed. After playing a bit, I think that I have determined that it's the black cartridge not detected. The color cartridge is one that I have recently removed and filled then re-installed. I can't understand why the printer is not detecting the black cartridge. It's easy installation, what I have done wrong?

    Troubleshooting steps here can help.

  • MG2220 does not print color even with full cartridge

I bought my MG2220 all-in-one, of good will. Everything works, I can say so far, but it will not be printed in color, even if my computer detects a full cartridge. It prints black very well. I have XP Sp3 on my computer.

I have cleaned the nozzles, made a thorough cleaning. Then I found a page, here, that says to remove the cartridges and unplug the printer while it is on and then plug it back again. After that, the statement is to reinsert the cartridges again. I checked to see if there was an orange cover on the bottom, but there isn't.

After a thorough cleaning, I got an error like this.

    Load the Code 5200

A printer error has occurred. Thurn the printer off, then on again. If this does not eliminate the error, the printer must be repaired.

I did as described and it worked fine then.

Is this possible, I just need a new color cartridge?

Another thing I've noticed is, I get black on my fingers and attachments, who owns the black cartridge have a little black ink on it.

Is this all in one, a lost cause? Should I take that back. I have only until next Thursday. Thank you.

I really want to keep this printer if possible.

I brought. But, good news, my nephew bought me a MG2290 for Christmas. It is a closed topic.

  • HP ENVY 4502: New out of box want 4502 says 'the following ink cartridges need to be replaced.

I bought a new HP ENVY 4502. I have out of the box, follow the installation instructions precisel before 4.9 step. The printer says 'Cartridge Install' with a blue under circle. I can't go any further.

I turn the machine off and on again and everything looks OK and I can continue with the installation.

Is this normal or does indicate that there is a problem with the new printer or cartridges provided?

Thank you for your help; I look forward to a response

    Hi @johngray,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I'd love to help you with your newly purchased 4502 envy. From your description, it seems that you have seen the 'Installation cartridge' message with a blue circle and could not move forward through the installation until you turned the printer off and on again. Your message, it sounds like once you have turned off the printer and turn it on again you were able to complete the installation, is that correct? I think that maybe there was a minor hiccup and the printer does not detect that the cartridge was installed, I don't think that it is an indication of how the printer will behave in the future.

If you encounter any other complications please let me know and I will gladly make all that I can to help.

If it meets your needs, please consider tagging this post as solved by clicking on accepted as a Solution below to identify your problem as solved! Thank you.

  • HP 2300 error "cartridge not intended for this printer.

    Hello

I recently completed a 94 black ink cartridge and when I installed it, a message appeared: "black cartridge inserted now is not intended for use in this printer."  First and only time I had a reflilled of the cartridge.  How to operate?

Sounds like a user related error message. Unfortunately, some machines can detect if the cartridge has been tampered with or reused. For various reasons, reload a cartridge is not recommended because it may harm your machine. This error message indicates that the power connection is damaged, and probably the error will remain until a new cartridge is bought to replace the old.

I assure you that although the reloaded cartridges work much of the time, they have a failure rate much higer and the factors that can affect the mechanics of the machine at all times.

I would like to know if this is the information that you need!

  • M1005MFP: HP M1005MFP trouble with print cartridge

    Hi you all,.

Out of the blue he was there: No. on-screen print cartridge.  I was copying just some paperwork when the printer stops.

I bought a new cartridge, a refurbished, and it has not changed a bit.

I've searched and searched, but I found no solution.

Y at - there someone who can help out me?

    Thank you

    Marco

    Hi Marco

'No print cartridge', don't normally appears if the printer is not able to detect the print cartridge. As you said it is a new cartridge, you can check whether the cartridge is 12A and if its 12, you can follow the steps below.

    1. turn off your printer.

    2. open the cartridge door.

    3 remove the cartridge.

    4. on the left side of your printer, you can see there are 2 points of contact (which provides a contact between the printer and the cartridge internal points), you can try to clean them.

    5. once the cleaning is done, you can reinstall the cartridge.

    6. now press The CANCEL and the RIGHT ARROW button at the same time (when the printer is turned off) and try to turn your product until the display shows' PERMANENT STORAGE INIT "(this will RESET your printer).

    7. When you see the above message, release the buttons, select as your preferred LANGUAGE and press OK and the name of your COUNTRY.

If your printer is delivered in READY, this problem is resolved and you can try printing. If the problem still persists the printer needs maintenance.

    Hope this helps

  • Not compatible with my photosmart 5510 564 HP cartridges

    Hello

I have a photosmart 5510 printer I bought at the Japan. It came with a set of 178 cartridges.

I moved to the Korea and bought a set of new cartridges HP 564 here because 178 cartridges are not available in Korea. In the box of cartridges it is said that the cartridges are adequate for the photosmart 5510.

After the installation, I get an error "incompatible cartridge".

If I use sureSupply via the HP utility to find compatible cartridges and I select the Korea as my current position, I get the following message:

You have selected the following location: Korea

Is this your current location? We have detected that the cartridges purchased at the location you have selected will not work with your printer. Common causes of this include:

    • you bought your printer in another country
    • you bought your printer on the Internet from a supplier in another country.
    • your printer has been provided by your employer who has moved to another country.
    • you have selected the wrong location on this Web site.

Your printer can be reset to work in the location you have selected: Korea

Contact HP support for more information on having your reset printer to work in this place.

Below that there is a link 'Contact HP for support product' but if I click that I find myself on the sureSupply page and I have to choose my model and location. If I do that, I see a list of 564 cartridges I buy.

Top of the page, there is a link "Contact HP" but this link (a javascript link) does nothing (in safari on OSX).

How can I have my printer reset to work in Korea (with 564 cartridges)?

@ JeroenKorea - if you bought the printer in an area and moved to a new area, you must call customer service to ask a "regionalization Reset." Avoid any accusation to this effect; It is covered under the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to have access to your computer and printer then on line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once completed reset cartridges of region of origin no longer works.

See the document on regionalisation.  I'm sure you already used this link, but I want to offer again.

    Hello

You must call HP@8004746836 to get the printer paired.

Also, I suggest you do a hard reset with the printer.

    Hard Reset:

    Take out the toner cartridges.

Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

    Wait for 30 seconds

Plug the power cord into the printer and the wall (be sure that the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)

Replace the toners/cartridges in the printer

    Let me know the results

  • Re: Use of refilled ink cartridge

I bought a store black ink cartridge filled with brand 61 XL to the Canada computers tonite, because they were all black HP 61 ink cartridges. It was much less expensive than a cartridge of HP to the actual address, and they swore to me it would work. They gave me a score of 99% that it would work. I installed it. Of course, my printer has detected that he was not a genuine HP cartridge, and I used it at my own risk. It installed ok. Test pages came out great. The only thing, he wouldn't tell me how much ink was in it. He also said that it was empty. If it detects an ink cartridge, a recharged and prints a test page, why don't you tell me how much ink is left?

It is important to understand that the reloaded cartridges are always 'true' HP cartridges.  The only difference between buying a new cartridge and using a charged cartridge is the fact, that it is full.  A charged cartridge is always a HP cartridge.

That's the problem: once your printer determines a cartridge is empty, this is recorded on the chip attached to the cartridge.  You can't change this, but you can always re - use cartridge filling it.  When a charged cartridge is placed in the printer, the printer will read the chip and tell you that the cartridge is used, etc., that you simply ignore and press ok.

That said, you should read the previous posts regarding the reset of the printer by removing the print head holder and reinstall even, while the printer is turned on.  OR use two sets of cartridges and turn them as they run dry that elminates the need to remove the cradle from the print head.  That's what I do.  Why?  Because when you install the other cartridge instead of the one that has missed only, the printer will reset itself and run the reset cartridge procedure.  The printer will give you messages on a used cartridge, etc. but the point is that the reremplie cartridge will work fine.

With regard to ink levels.  Understand one important fact - your printer than estimates how much ink is in a cartridge.  The printer only "sees" in the cartridge to actually know how much ink is in there.  The printer puts a message on the chip in the cartridge that the cartridge is empty and you cannot change this option.  Don't worry about the message - just keep printing until the cartridge physically comes to run out of ink and fill again.

Some other printer manufacturers have actually provided a window on the bottom or the side of the cartridge and the printer could not see the ink level in the cartridge.  This means that when a cartridge has been filled again the 'seen' printer ink and everything was fine.  These other manufacturers were cannon and his brother.  Canon no longer uses this type printers - they did what HP - they put a chip on the cartridge, consider the level and make it harder to use reloaded cartridges.  The reason is obvious.  I don't know if the brother is still using the old method or have managed to get rid of the window in cartridges for newer printers.

As a former owner of a cartridge filling company, I learned that printer makers should not keep changing the styles of the cartridges.  They could continue to use the same style and eliminate a lot of confusion and need a new style.  This is especially true if you use recharged cartridges because when you buy a new printer, older games, you've been filling fall into the trash.  In addition, the cartridges that come with the new printer are usually low capacity and provide fewer printed pages.  You must always change a size XL if they are available.  If XL is not available, do not buy this printer model, because your printing costs will be too high.
