No driver tuner for media center 1070n

Hello:
I have a HP media center 1070n. I had trouble sending emails and understand that my outlook Windows was messed up. Found no driver recovery still available on the web. Called hp and they said that none was available since my computer is 5 years. Tried to sell me a new and gave me a number to call using the microsoft. Called them and they gave me another number that directed me to a site called iyogi and for only $325.00 that they could help me solve the problem online! I called a supplement in the newspaper and the lady came out and worked for five hours to $22.00 hr. and couldn't fix it. Then, I paid a repairman $ 75.00 for 1 hour + $55.00 Hr shop time to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows. My email works OK but now my media center will not be installed because there is no tuner driver. Tried to download every drive hp tuner, but won't work, hp say that they are not available and to buy the new Tower. My computer works well, but can not find! Went to ebay and other sites to buy a new tuner and they will sell me one, but the driver that I download from the internet. They are the same sites that I downloaded from and who do not recognize my original tuner card! I just want to buy something that will work and have a drive which can use when I need it. Feel like a dog running after my tail and having to pay for it! Would like to know if I should buy a new unit of media (NOT hp!) every 5 years or if there is a way to install a non-proprietary device and to work.
Thank you
Dale-

  • WMCE54AG - dialog box 'Site not designed for Media Center'

I just bought WMCE54AG media extender on ebay and it connected to my PC Windows XP Media Center.  It seems to work fine except that I can't access Online Spotlight.  I get a dialog box saying "Not designed for Media Center Site" and asks me to view them later / now display / Cancel.  I select view now and get the Online Spotlight menu options, but can't do anything with it.  This feature works fine on my PC.  Is there some setting I have missed on the Extender?  I tried to update the firmware, but when I have intalled, it says I have a newer version, so I cancelled it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, after trial and error, I finally understood what the problem
    a. the Linksys Extender is not compatible with IE7. After rolling back to
IE6, I could see online focus in the media extender. As a note of
careful, I had upgraded to IE8 beta 2 and Spot online has stopped working on
my media center PC as well. I had the same error as I did on my extender. This
in the end is how I realized that the problem was with the IE version.

  • Do not install driver for media center M7000

Hi all: for the first time here. Full of hope! Recently repaired a system Media Center M7000. Was able to get most of the pilots of the HP excelllent site. However, the audio driver listed when downloaded and loaded into the system just didn't work. Tried to RUN the site as well, and also, nothing positive has happened.

I remembered then, I got the work done on a new system with a motherboard Asus and recalled all pilot had a sound driver. No not even load disk driver m/b, but was able to go to the site Asus driver and download driver from there. Worked perfectly on the media center with Win XP Pro. For later use, I would like to know why the driver listed on the HP download site would not work, but he said it was the correct driver. One was listed, there would be no confusiong courses by selecting one of, say, five or six audio drivers. I have same woked my way down the list of pilot, hopeing to get a workable driver for the Media Center. No luck. Really appreciate the help on this one, because I am sure that I have will meet this situation once again, since I'm a repair technician. Thanks a lot, estimated Jim S

Thanks for such a quick response and recommendation. Downloaded, saved and hope for happier days. Once again, thanks a lot. Jim S

  • Format hard drive for Media Center

I have a Dell E1705, which I used for several years.  During the system was under warranty, a Dell technician I crossed of reformatting the hard drive and had me format in a single partition.  I discovered once this is completed there is a hidden partition to enable the functionality of Media Center work.  I tried to make a 1.5 GB hidden partition, but could not make it work.  I'm tired of formatting and reinstalling and just went ahead and started using it.  Supervisor of the technician, I was working with at the time said to call him just at the time when I wanted to start.

My warranty has now lapsed.  I want to reformat the hard disk and to return the media center functionality.  I don't know how to format the drive hard so that the installation works properly.

I have the reinstallation of the operating system CD (DVD) "Version of Windows Media Center 2005 with Update Rollup."  I have a Cd labeled "to reinstall Dell Tools System Software", "Drivers and Utilities for.

reinstall Dell Inspiron and XPS system software","to reinstall Dell Media Experience 3.1 "and" to reinstall Dell MediaDirect on Dell Inspiron 9400 and E1705 systems".

I think I can get through the basics of starting from the DVD and reinstall Windows as well as to get pilots back in the drivers disk.   I would get the media central part back to feature so needs to know how to reformat/repartition my hard drive so that it works.  All the words of wisdom / tutorial on adding information necessary to solve my problem would be appreciated also.  I looked around, on the support.dell.com site and forum of users without finding something that helps me to solve this problem.

  • Add hard drive to the media center m7160n

I added a western digital 500 GB hard drive in my hp media center m7160, no problem physically. Dosen't os find the new disk, while managing the set - up and device see. the device manager says that it works correctly, but that it was not initalized. question: How can I initialize it? Thanks a lot, well being, peace.                       DP

    Hello

You may need to format the new HARD drive - try the following.

If you are running Windows XP, see the guide on the following link.

    http://www.simplyguides.NET/guides/prepare_second_hdd/prepare_second_hdd1.shtml

For Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, follow these steps.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard.  Windows assigns a Volume Label, so if you're happy with it, just leave the default.  File system is NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.

    Kind regards

    DP - K

  • Cannot download for Media Center tv guide - says download but no results?

Media Center seeems to work properly on the new Windows 7. No problem with the display of television channels or other records, but I can't seem to get a guide to download. The program says the guide is obsolete and you propose to download the ads but never seems to finish and no descriptions or check names are displayed. How can I fix this?

    Hi mcfat,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    (1) you get an error during the download?

For now I suggest you to download the latest announcements of guide manually and see if it gives any error or that the download is finished successfully.

Follow the steps below to download the lists guide manually.

You can configure Windows Media Center Guide lists auto update, but you can also download the latest Guide information manually.

    Method 1:

    1. on the start screen, go to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then get latest Guide listings.

    2. When prompted, select Yes to begin to download the Guide listings. You are notified when the update of the Guide is complete. You can continue to use Windows Media Center and the Guide while new Guide information is being downloaded.

Access the link below for more information on the above steps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/download-updated-Guide-listings-in-Windows-Media-Center

If you have any question by downloading manually too, then try Method 2 and see if that can deal with the issue.

    Method 2:

    (1) close Media Center
    2) click on the start menu, choose run and type cmd
    (3) run the command regsvr32.exe atl.dll
    (4) run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /unregServer
    (5) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched
    (6) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer command
    (7) run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr
    (8) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer command
    (9) executes the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe/regserver
    (10) runs the C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer command
    (11) runs the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe/regserver
    (12) restart the computer
    (13) restart Media Center

If the problem persists, look for any similar error you get during the download in the link below and let us know what it is to continue troubleshooting.

  • Can't burn a Flash drive in windows media center

I don't see a method to burn music on a flashdrive in the media library. Is this possible?

I don't think that sort of Media Center, it is designed around more for use "10 feet" (that is, from your couch while watching television).  Real management like who are more focused on the features of Windows Media Player.
