No HDMI sound after Windows 8.1 update

Hi guys,.

I was wondering if anyone of you can help you?

I have the envy 15 that came pre-installed with Win8.  When the 8.1 update came out, I installed and now cannot get any audio when connecting via HDMI to my TV, even if the image is there.

I made sure that all drivers are updated as far as I KNOW, but in the Device Manager, I get the highlight, obviously as stated above, the cable is connected.

Everything worked fine before the update and I also used 4 different cables, which are all very well that I also have an old Compaq laptop that runs always WIN8 allows audio via HDMI.

One of you, experts have thoughts on that?

Regards and thanks in advance.

Kian

In fact, the first time around was a "Refresh" as all the files were kept.  Yesterday, I did a "valorisation" who put me back on the outside of the box to the top.

Once all updates have been made, I tested and everything worked well, visuals and audio HDMI.  Updated to 8.1 and had just visual.  I restarted the laptop and I got new audio.

It seems that with 8.1 should I turn off the laptop and plug it into the TV before going back on what I didn't need to with Win 8. (note. I tried to restart the phone before you post here) so yes, not taken in charge with 8.1 and must have had a corrupt intsaller previously.

I have a compaq presario cq71-230sa and I try to play the video through the hdmi on my samsung tv. before I upgraded to windows 7 (from vista) it worked fine. but now he only plays the picture but still sound comes from my laptop!, in sound devices is no longer an option for sound hdmi, but in Device Manager it says I have intel (r) high definition hdmi audio driver. I tried to disable the devices, display devices turned off, reinstall the drivers and everything said sound up-to-date and functional? I found no other aid anywhere! This is driving me crazy because he used to work very well? If any details are req please let me know. Help, please

    Hello

This is the email from a friend:

    Establish the connection:

    1. connect the HDMI cable to the computer and television. If the TV has a "DVI/HDMI" port not in use. Use a HDMI port only.

2 turn on the TV and select the HDMI port you use. Adjust the TV settings to receive audio HDMI if necessary.

    3. turn on the computer. (Optional, some people close the lid of the laptop immediately after hitting the power button, but I don't know why.) Most of the people shouldn't need to do).

    4. optional. Some models are better if the TV is set to the main display. To set, repeatedly press Fn + F8 (or ctrl + alt + F4) to scroll through the settings (laptop display only / display of the laptop with external/external display display only). Reboot the laptop.

    5. go to start > Control Panel > sounds > playback make "HDMI" the default device. (If "HDMI" is not there, right click in the white area and go to the section "Show disconnected devices" or "Show disabled devices" and see if it is there.)

    After connection problems:

    1. If there is still no option to select "HDMI" as default audio playback device, try to re-setup of update driver graphic or even try an older version. "" The graphics driver is the HDMI audio driver, not the audio driver on a regular basis a few people with Intel graphics card had the best results by uninstalling the graphics driver, reboot and let Windows search for a driver (instead of download the Dell printer driver

    support site).

    2. try to disconnect and then reconnect the HDMI cable.

3 If you are using Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center but don't get no audio HDMI even after that that he is selected as the default playback device, go to

Control Panel > sound > playback > Audio playback device / > HDMI > properties > Advance > exclusive Mode and uncheck "exclusive mode".

    4. try another HDMI cable.

    5. try another HDMI port on the TV.

    Good luck.

  • No sound after Windows updates - don't Please Help!

I just finished a full restore my system back to factory settings because I had no noise whatsoever.  After doing this, I had sound for a while, until some update has been installed and now I have not YET healthy.  It's extremely frustrating!  Given that the sound worked until one of the many updates has been installed, this leads me to believe that the update is the cause of the problem.  When I click on the sound tab, it shows that everything is working ok.  I tried everything I can think of to remedy to this problem.  I uninstalled, reinstalled and updated the driver for the sound.  It does not work.  I tried to use the restoration of the system to an earlier time and that doesn't work anymore (because there was not a lot of restore points because I had to complete my system restore.)  I don't know what to do to solve this problem.  I'd do another complete restore of my system, but I'm afraid that the updates will cause the same issue.  I'd appreciate any help!

  • Audio not working do not after Windows 8.1 update

    Hello

A few days ago that I have updated Windows 8.1 evaluation to the full version 8.1 and since then my audio doesn't work. In Control Panel, "Digital Audio display (AMD high definition Audio Device)" is listed as disconnected. The audio icon on the taskbar is XE out and clicking on it works the finder error in vain. Speakers no longer appear in the list of devices well now that nothing works I don't know if they have ever or if the audio comes through display Digital Audio. Headphones do not present as playback device and the volume on the keyboard controls and the taskbar are not accessible. I've never used external speakers.

Windows 8.1 update seemed to wipe all my software HP and AMD came with the laptop so I reinstalled the HP support center and looked for a driver updated and all that jive, but all also shows to date. I don't know what else to look for because most of the forums I've seen seem to speak of their output HDMI sound does not work when it is connected to a TV and I just try to have sound, period.

    Hi Chris,

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp59501-60000/sp59861.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  If you see a very similar entry for (or entry of IDT) IDT HD Audio , right click on the device and select uninstall - you should also get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.  If there is no input IDT, go just below.

When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards

  • Driver problem Audio IDT high definition (HD) after windows 8.1 update 1.

Hello. I have HP Probook s 4730. After you install the update to Windows 8.1 1 the audio driver has stopped working properly. When I want to play some music or even video system sounds, noise appears after 1-2 minutes. At that time, disk use is 100% cause of isolation of graph for the device windows audio. I installed this driver Audio IDT high definition (HD) on the support site for the driver of HP, but it does not work. As I see it in the device manager driver release date is 24.10.2012. I think it's too old for Windows 8.1. Can you help me? Y at - it another more recent version of this audio driver? Also I send only two pictures where are drive HARD use and driver release date.

I found a solution to our problem! I installed this driver Windows 7 in compatibility mode. You must remove this one for Windows 8.1 in programs and features, then download this version I have already mentioned, sole extract in a place where you want and install with compatibility mode. To do this, you must enter the configuration properties, then compatibility mode and select Windows 7, also check "Run this program as Administrator". This driver works fine for me. Hope you enjoy it also.

  • Loss of the HDMI sound after the monitor stop

    System:

HP laptop computer dv9330ca on Vista 64-bit. NVidea GE Force 7600 and Conexant audio.

I have hooked the lappy HDMI cable to the TV (Toshiba 32DT2U or 32C110U, not sure) and had no sound.  Define sound from digital output (SPDIF) in Control Panel - still no sound.  Video drivers updated - make us it sound.  Update audio drivers - sound disappeared. Audio restoration pilot - still no sound. Re-install video drivers - make us it sound.  Reboot - we still have sound!  The Toshiba power on and turn it on again - no noise :( Re-install video drivers - still no sound :(

I rebooted after all the steps mentioned above.  I am aware of "the digital sound setting" in Control Panel, but it's not helping more.

I have a month old Satellite U945-S4390 and I started to have this problem after the upgrade to Windows 8.1 a few days ago.

I started windows 8, and the fan returned to be quiet.
When I reinstalled windows fan 8.1the began once more to be strong.

I am convinced that it is a matter of 8.1 for Windows (at least for me).

Anyone else having this problem? All proposed the solution?

After winning 8.1 update, you must install all drivers and utilities Toshiba as a pilot system of Toshiba in the right order.
The Toshiba driver page provides installation instructions for all models of 8.1supported Win.
Installing these drivers is very important about the functionality of good laptop

  • Output HDMI not working do not after Windows 8.1 update

I use an envy TouchSmart 15 and I just launched an update of Windows based on the automatic system update 8.1 (he ran 5 updates).

Before the update, I've used a 27 "monitor in the main screen, and it was connected via the HDMI port.  Just after the update, the system does not recognize the HDMI port and more and this goes back to the use of the screen of the cell phone Envy as the main screen.  I changed the HDMI cable but it made no difference.  I am connected subsequently another laptop to the monitor 27 "via HDMI and it worked fine.  So it appears the monitor and the HDMI cable are fine.

    Please can you help me?

    Hey yawbus,

I would firstly you welcome on the HP Forums!

Thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps that you already have, and I say you are right that the issue is not with the HDMI cable or the 27 "monitor. From what you described in your post, it sounds as if he is with the drivers, maybe a conflict.

I would like to begin with the installation of the original video drivers supplied with your laptop. I've included the document "using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8)". Please follow the steps to reinstall everything video original drivers. After you have installed the original drivers, restart your computer.

Now, once the computer is restarted, you will need to install the updates that are available for HP and Windows. You can install both of them through the HP Support Assistant. I've included the document 'using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8)'. Scroll to the bottom of the page on to Midway, and you should see an option for the updates and the updates. Please follow the options for HP and Windows updates.

If you are still having the same problem after the above troubleshooting steps, please let me know the model number full of your envy TouchSmart 15. I've included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'. So, please confirm the current version of Windows that you are running. If you need help to find the version, I've included the document 'operating system Windows that I am running?'.

    Looking forward to your reply!

  • spectrum 360: no sound after windows update

    Hello

As a result of an update to windows 10 for the anniversary edition, I had problems with the sound.

It says the audio device not detected.  I uninstalled the audio drivers and reinstalled them and it will work, but after restarting the computer, it gives the same error.  Sometimes a reboot it will work again, otherwise have to reinstall again.

I couldn't run constantly, so I restored windows on the previous generation and it works well again.

Anyone had this problem or could fix?

    Thank you

    Thank you.

I ended up doing something like that.  I uninstalled the program conexant himself and installed an older driver (9.0.57.0), and so far it has worked.  I got the driver from the hp support page.

The new driver worked until a reboot, then had to be reinstalled again.

    I thank once again.
