  Hi, I noticed recently that my computer (Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005) is unable to sleep automatically when it is connected to the internet with a cable modem. Change the settings for my current power mode and try a different feeding regime (diagrams of Windows XP default power and power management, I created) only solves the problem for 2 days at most. I also tried to change the settings for the other power plans mentioned, and yet once again, the problem was only set for two days at the most. I also tried turning off my computer, restarting my computer, recording Powercfg /Restore Default policies in Run, saving sfc/scannow in Run, and again, I got the same result. Reset and power cycling the modem cable is not helped either. To help you better understand the problem, for example, if I had the date set for the screensaver set to 1 minute, the time for the monitor to turn off set to 2 minutes and time for your computer set to 3 minutes, the screen saver activate after 1 minute, the monitor turns off after 2 minutes, but the computer would not sleep mode after 3 minutes , even after an hour or more. I tried to check the Task Manager, and I have not noticed any process that would be interrupting the day before. However, I noticed that when I turned on the monitor by moving the mouse, even when the computer was unable to sleep and unplugged the ethernet cable from the cable modem and waited, the computer has entered standby as it should have.  I tried to find a solution for more than a week, contributions for this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. (Update: it seems that the problem is something else then my cable modem.)

• BRAVIA internet video link does not connect to the server

  I have a KDL-32xbr6 (Yes, it has a DMEX button on the remote control). Just buy a DMX - NV1. Connection is "by the book". The wireless bridge is a NetGear 3001 bought a month ago. This Wireless Bridge works fine when connected to a computer and has no trouble at all a link to my 4G version jetpack. This device has abundant speed and is used by other Bravia owners to access the internet. Yet, when it is connected to the DMX - NV1, the system cannot connect to the 'server' (some server that can be). I spent about 4 hours, spread over 3 days exceeding this ad nauseum with the online chat. And we continue to go right on the same things over and over again. DMX has so much power and network illumintated lights green. When accessing the network, the Green Network flashing. So, it IS out in the network. But after the timeout, it always comes with a message "configuration failed due to the delay" on the TV screen. (Which is exactly what it says - I don't remember the exact job right now). Instrumentation in settiings presents the new appropriate icons (internet video settings, etc.). So that part is OK. I did a system reset several times on television and DMX. I did the cold repowering (unplug, wait a minute, reconnect) of all devices several times. I even tried to delete the security on the router/modem encryption and went 'none' for a test, just in case there was some sort of encryption confusion. The system seems to be absolutely spot on, but when we try to make his connection to the 'server' it can do. And don't suggest even trying out an online software update, you must first be able to connect to 'server '. Has anyone experience this problem? It is quite a haruumpher. Driving me crazy. I'm sure it's something simple. But what is it? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

  All right-_ - I tried a lot of things with this so I get irritated sorry. Here is my info I have a Linksys Wireless Router with SpeedBoost Firmware Version 7.2 WRT54GS (latest version). I'm trying to use it with a Sprint 645 series Modem. My IP address when you are connected to the router and the router connected to the Modem is 192.168.1.100 who my ISP said was ok to make it work. While it is just connected to my modem, it's the same thing except replace the 100 by 1. My ISP uses a measure of security where The Thing DHCP is 192.168.1.1 and so is the DNS server and default gateway and im not sure if this has something to do with it. I used the ping at a command prompt to make sure that I am connected to the router when its plugged up and it is. This is a new router. I have internet with Modem just perfectly. I tried to reset the router and that does not work-_-. I don't think it is important more because I tried to fix the many way people have told me and it didn't work, but I'll tell u in any case. When I put up the first router time I hung and lit everything at the beginning. Then I noticed that it says Run CD before to connect the cables... those who were not in the instructions but wtv... anyway resetting should have fixed or so I was told by other people on this forum. I use a laptop with Windows Vista, and I don't have access to a desktop computer in case I need a XD. I can connect to the router fine because I can access the Setup page... and I can connect wireless...   When you connect through your router that you have two instances of DHCP past... one is your DSL modem with router IP address on its WAN interface. The other is the router that gives your computer an IP address via the DHCP server on the router. The IP address of the modem gives your router is in the 192.168.1.0 network. Unfortunately, by default, the reange of Linksys routers LAN IP address is also in this range. For that to work, you must set your router 192.168.2.1 LAN ip, so that the LAN and WAN router interfaces are in different networks.

  To do this, unplug the DSL modem router, power it and your computer, and then connect the computer to the router by an ethernet cable. Turn on the router and the computer, and then go to 192.168.1.1. Change the LAN IP on router 192.168.2.1, save the configuration, and then restart the computer. Once the computer returns to the top, navigate to 192.168.2.1... you should be able to get to the router GUI configuration.

  Turn off the router and the DSL modem, connect the router to the modem via the Internet port using an ethernet cable, and then turn on the modem, then the router... you should be good to go...
