Problem started (I think) after that PANDA INTERNET SECURITY did a update and says a restart is required (29/09/2010). System could not restart normally. Started, but virtually nothing loaded and couldn't do anything.

In Safe Mode, first mistake was a Protection Exception for TPSrv.exe (a PANDA executable)

Tried to do a Safe Mode system restore to point before PANDA update (28/09/2010). System Restore starts safe mode and then restart in Normal Mode.  After about an hour comes up with error message "Volume Shadow Copy Service used by the system restore does not work. (0 x 81000202) event log.

I also tried sfc.exe but found no compromise windows

    Hello

    Follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click the Start button and in the search box, type in: Services.

    b. press "Enter" to open the Services window.

    c. find related services that are listed above and check the status (on the road) and the Startup Type (automatic).

    d. double-click the service to change the status of started and set the startup type to automatic.

Try to do a system restore and check.

    Method 2:

Since you are able to boot into safe mode, I suggest you perform a clean boot and disable all non-Microsoft applications, then boot normally and control.

To perform a clean boot follow the steps mentioned in the link given below.

Note: Follow step 7 to start the computer in normal startup.

  • HP envy 14-2090eo: Norton Internet Security causing BSOD

    Hi HP experts...

The first time a bought a laptop, I have Norton Internet Security installed my antivirus preferred, but on this laptop, I have experienced the BSOD, when opening the software Norton Internet Security to access the user interface, and this problem has existed since the Internet Explorer 10 and 11 happened, so im still only able to have installed the version of Internet Explorer 9 to avoid the BSOD´s. I used the Norton Internet Security 2004 and only known problems on this laptop, I also have many cell members and friends families, where I also installed this antivirus on and also a couple of them are HP products, but they do not know these problems? Can anyone tell me if there is a way to work around this problem, so I can install the latest Internet Explorer, I guess there are a lot of security better connected for new versions of Solution Explorer, so may not be the safest way to have IE installed 9... I guess it must be a problem of Hp with this specific model.

Hope to hear from you soon - best regards Hpenvy1

IMHO, uninstall Norton using the Norton removal tool can perform the required updates.  Then run Norton Power Eraser. It would in my opinion to use a different anti-virus.  A lot can be installed to a "30 day trial" until you find one that you like.  If you are resolved to Norton, give them a chance to fix or to visit their forums.  If it's a widespread problem, others will have similar problems.

  • Norton Internet Security 2010 automatically close Windows Defender? __

    My set up:

Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium, Vista SP2

    HP Desktop

    Modem DSL Connection

    Norton Internet Security 2010

I just installed Norton Internet Security 2010. I get a pop up notice of Windows indicating that Windows Defender is disabled. When I had Norton Antivirus/spyware 2008 (that I used until the installation of Norton Internet Security 2010) Windows defender was on, but not in real time.  Then, when I'd go to

The Task Manager > click on the Services tab > click on the Services button in the lower right

This will display a list of Services. I scroll down and find the Windows Defender Service

It shows NOT on and manual start

Before the instalation of Norton Internet Security 2010, it has shown as Started and startup type automatic

Is this the right setting with Norton Internet Security installed? I do not use Windows Defender, but I read that the Windows Defender Service is responsible for other things in addition to anti-spyware scanning.

So should I change the startup type?

    and start the service?

Or, as I said if I don't use it. leave it alone?

    Q. "Norton Internet Security 2010 automatically closes Windows Defender?"

    A. Yes.  It uses its own antispyware software.  Having two different types will result in conflicts and compatibility issues.

  • Trend Micro Internet Security will not uninstall

I have a new Windows 7 Professional 32 - bit Latitude E6500 that drives me crazy. It came with a trial version of Trend Micro Internet Security installed and it's not far, at least not with elegance. Here's what I've tried so far:

    1. Uninstall via programs and features - she would get about 2/3 of the way through and hang for hours until what force you a restart. Didn't matter if I stopped first of services.
    2. Remove the menu start - Trend Micro - uninstall Trend Micro... This would launch the installer even with the same result.
    3. Try Windows Install Cleanup Utility - it would flash some info too fast to read on-screen. In the long run Trend Micro services remained.
    4. Using TISTOOL. EXE of Trend Micro, 'Trend Micro Diagnostic Tool'. This seems to actually get rid of the application well enough. Unfortunately, it kills my network interfaces (Ethernet and wireless) as I have never seen before. I was able to restore the functionality of ethernet by removing the ethernet card in the Device Manager and allow it to be re-installed. But it did not work for the wireless. The wireless adapter is listed in the device and under network connections Manager (and activated). But he is no longer an option to detect wireless networks. I can only solve the problem by performing a restore of the system to an earlier time. This of course brings Trend Micro from the grave too.

The thought of formatting the hard drive and starting over because of this bundled crapware is really unpleasant. I read the other messages on the Internet with exactly the same issue, but none have provided a solution. I was unable to find manual instructions to uninstall. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Hello. I encountered a similar problem on a Latitude E5420 client.

When I ran the 'change' option (there is no 'uninstall' option) applet programs & features in the Panel, she gave me an error 1719 and mentioned that the installation service could not be accessed.

I was able to uninstall it like this:

    Navigate to c:\program files (x 86) \trend micro\client server security agent

Search for the file named ntrmv.exe (I'm not sure it was .exe because extensions were not visible).

Right click on ntrmv and click on "Run as Administrator".

This produces the uninstall program and successfully completed.

  • How remove "preinstalled" McAfee Internet Security of Satellite U400

    Hi guys

I just reinstalled Windows XP using the recovery disk if the computer is now as it was when it came from the factory.

My Satellite U400 native with a free subscription to McAfee Internet Security 30-day. Now that I have reinstalled Windows XP the * McAfee Internet Security Configuration * + icon + has reappeared on my desk.

My question: * is McAfee Internet Security installed in my notebook? *

I still have a brochure of McAfee initially provided with the computer that says + Internet Security Suite preinstalled on your Toshiba +. What does that mean? For me + preinstalled means + we + installed by Toshiba before reaching the consumer. However, if McAfee have in fact installed on my laptop, it displays in the list of programs installed under "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel? I checked that list but McAfee is not there. Is not under 'Programs' in the menu 'start '. So, is it actually on my laptop? Or anything else I have McAfee is little set up the icon on the desktop?

I need to know if McAfee is actually installed on my laptop (and if it is, how to get rid of her) because the other software I use is not compatible with McAfee - I tried to use both at the same time in the past, but neither worked well.

Sorry guys, but as you may have noticed, I am not a computer person, so would really appreciate your help.

    Thank you

    Hello

I guess this will be installed automatically by Microsoft.
It s called McAfee Security Scan Plus.
I updated the OS to the window, and this appeared on my laptop as well.
You can uninstall it if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it because it was such good protection to new malware and spy from the internet.

But if you want to remove it, then you can find the uninstall exe in all programs-> McAfee Security Scan Plus-> uninstall

Please disable Windows Defender in Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services.  Double-click Windows Defender and stop it if it is started.  Then in the drop-down menu, make sure to put it off.  Click OK to save the changes.

Since doing a full restore on my computer xp laptop, I can't get on internet.  As I try to connect, a message appears telling me to download the Service Pack 1 and 2.  I copied these on a disk and tried to install it on XP but could not because I need internet to complete the task.  Can anyone help?

    Evergreen

Please provide the full text of the message, without paraphrasing.

    Start > run > winver > OK

Compared to what is displayed for your version of Windows.

How you get Service Pack 1 and 2 files that you copied to the drive?

You must install Service Pack 3, not Service Pack 2.  If your current installation (after recovery) is the original Windows XP, you must install Service Pack 1 before you install Service Pack 3.

You can get the necessary files here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389 to this document, download sp1a on the link that says click here to download Windows XP Service Pack 1a (SP1a).

SP3 withdraws the section down under the heading "Download the latest Windows XP service pack from the Microsoft Download Center" - download the Windows XP Service Pack 3 package now

You don't need to be connected to Internet to install service packs.  In fact, you'd be better to disconnect your computer from the Internet and completely disable your antivirus application before installing service packs.

1 re-installing/repairing software will not fix hardware issues.

    None

Windows Defender is an antispyware software.  In itself, it does not all the protection your computer needs.

Norton Internet Security is a suite of programs, including antivirus, antispyware, firewall, antispam and others.

Windows 7 consumer security software providers shows those and other opportunities.

I'm not a fan of security suites.  On my computer, I use the free program of Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus and antispyware protection integrated in Windows 7 is Windows Firewall .
