No iPhone hotspot 6

NO horepot option

Hi there Pushkarkokane,

Looks like you're missing the Personal Hotspot in your settings. I would check these steps in the following article:

Get help with Personal Hotspot in iOS

https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT203302

  1. Contact your operator to make sure that they support Personal Hotspot, and it is enabled for your wireless plan.
  2. Make sure Personal Hotspot is on: tap Settings > cellular > Personal Hotspot.
  3. Check the Internet connection on your iOS device: tap Safari and load a new webpage.
  4. If a type of connection does not work, try another. For example, instead of using a Wi - Fi connection, use USB or Bluetooth.
  5. Turn on/Personal Hotspot turn off: tap Settings > Personal Hotspot or settings > cellular > Personal Hotspot.
  6. Install the latest version of iOS.
  7. Reset your network settings: tap Settings > General > reset > reset network settings.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, let us know how it goes.

Windows 8 not seeing my iPhone 4S Hotspot as a wireless network available Personal Hotspot is iOS6 we'RE running.  Have restarted the phone and HP ENVY Ultrabook Touch.  I used laptop computer Personal Hotspot on old Dell Windows 7 iPhone & iPads since it became available for several years.  My new Windows 8 on HP Ultrabook touch simply does not show my IPhone Hotspot as an available network even if he sees my thin wireless home network and my neighbors wireless network.

I am currently connected to my home wireless network.  When I'm traveling or away from home and not around a WIFi Personal Hotspot IPhone is very convenient as the Pocket on a shirt.  I'm not a beginner because have 14 cable and devices on my home wireless network.  My security cameras, lighting and pool controls are all managed by the iPhone and iPad applications.  But I am a beginner with Windows 8 and can't seem to find my iPhone Personal Hotspot.

I'm sure that the solution is simple, but I do not know this simple solution.

    Hi JerryGriffith1941,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

I'm sorry to hear you're having a problem with Windows 8, you see only not your iPhone 4S Hotspot as an available wireless network. I'll probably help you on this question.

Is the iPhone Hotspot available or hidden or shown at all?

Is available in other devices when you try to look for wireless network iPhone Hotspot?

You can check the blog discussed in the Apple forum.

  • Unable to connect my iPhone hotspot 5S for my computer in Windows 8.

My iphone 5 s personal hotspot (wifi) can not connect to my computer laptop under windows 8 System. I bring my iphone & lap top to Apple Service Center. Apple uses a lot of iphone 5 & iphone 5 s personal hotspot also failed to connect to the wifi of my lap top. Apple has also to restore my iphone setting also can not connect. Apple take my iphone to connect another laptop or a PC with windows XP is no problem, cannot connect to wifi. After Apple said that is Windows 8 can not confrigration with the iphone. Ask me to contact Microsoft. Help, please.

My version of the software: iOS 7.1.2 iPhone5 and Win 8.1 on Lenovo

Today I feel like a genius. I've been struggling with this problem for over 4 months and none of the forums on MS or Apple have this properly resolved. The resolution I found is quite simple and stupid:

On your iPhone, go to settings-> General-> about-> name

Make sure the name of your phone is not a single word with number of the apostrophe or special characters. Make sure NO SPACES.

If you change the name on the phone, just disable the personal Hotspot and turn it back on. Go to your laptop and now connect to the Hotspot IPhone with the new name.

I wonder why Win8.1 is unable to use a device name that includes spaces. It is pretty stupid IMHO.

  • X 200 with failure iPhone hotspot staff

I have a friend with a 200 X. He tries to use his iPhone 4S as a personal hotspot. The phone is configured correctly because we can connect using my laptop (not a X 200). My laptop connects using WPA2/AES.

When we try to connect by using dial-up connections, the connection fails. I tried all four modes WPA/TKIP WPA/AES, WPA2/TKIP-WPA2/AES. All have failed. When I click on the help me fix this button and get the report here about the error and recommended actions:

    Connection status: disconnected
    Cause: Connection failed
    Error code: 011
    Recommended actions:
Check data encryption (WEP, TKIP, AES) specified in this profile match those expected by the wireless network.
Check that the wireless adapter on your computer was not limited to access channels used by wireless radio.

    _____________________

As I said, we tried all the encryption settings and checked the key several times. The phone uses channel 2.

This is the info of the adapter:

    Card details
    ***************
Name of the card Intel(r) WiFi Link 5100 AGN
    Type of wireless LAN adapter
    Adapter speed 150,0 Mbps
    Driver/Firmware version 12.2.1.2 / N/A
    Enabled the card status
    State of the disconnected connection
    Disable unused cards?        NO.

The first fix I've tried has been updated the BIOS and logins (5.85). Still would not work and gave the same mistakes.

Suggestions as to what to try next?

    Thank you

Apply this hotfix on AC 5.85. It's for Win 7.

  • ThinkPad will not connect to iPhone 5 personal hotspot

My Lenovo Thinkpad, running Windows 7, does not connect to my iPhone 5 personal hotspot.  Here is some information:

-The ThinkPad used to connect to the hotspot, but only intermittently. Reset the network adapter sometimes worked, sometimes not... now, not at all.

-The ThinkPad will connect at home, Starbucks and various networks airport WiFi with no problems.

-The personal hotspot iPhone works perfectly with my iPad.

So, my iPhone hotspot works and my ThinkPad with WiFi works, but not to each other.

In the names of Jobs and Gates, can anyone suggest a fix?

    Good afternoon kmh531mag,.

Here are some tips that can help you to solve your problem:

    On your iPhone:

-Install the latest version of iOS (if you have not yet installed)
-Reset the network settings on the iPhone
How you do this: go to Settings--> General--> Reset--> Reset network settings
-Check the name of your device. Windows probably has problems with a device name that contains non-ASCII characters.
(for example: iPhone John.) The character ' is a non-ASCII character)
    -Completely restore iPhone

    On your Lenovo Thinkpad:

    -Install all Windows updates

Here's some tips that I hope help you solve your problem.

Please keep me informed if it works or not after you've tried my advice.

    Kind regards
    Marco
